I made a point to measure myself in every conceivable spot before I started my pre op diet last week because I know that when the scale lets me down I will need to measure myself to keep morale up. The key is the more different areas you measure the more difference you can see in inches.
Blessings!
Pammie,
I just noticed that our beginning weights are almost identical and you have been very successful. Do you mind telling me how tall you are and what your overall experience has been like?
I'm coming in on United and will arrive at 9:46 AM from Denver. I'm sure we will be traveling accross the border together. Very hungry and grouchy by that time most likely
I am in your same boat. If there is a diet out there I have tried whether it is healthy or downright deadly. I have lost and gained weight so many years in a row that I can't count them and when I decided on this surgery I was the highest I have ever been. My band date is May 8th and I am really excited about it. I am very hopeful that the pounds I take off in today and in the future will be gone forever but I have to admit some moments of what if this doesn't work for me or only works for a little while?
Cathy I bumped up Dr. Miranda's Post Op guideline for you. I says 1-7 day clear liquid min 3 days. I am thankful for that because making it a whole 7 on the clears will be touch. One I can have my protein shakes I don't think I'll have as much problem because I won't feel so weak hopefully.
Blessings!
Glad to hear from you. I was beginning to worry that you had changed your mind or something! Hope things settle down at work for you, that does look like lots of hard work. More my husbands line that mine. He's the techie in the house.
Blessings!
alana I think we are on the same day or one day apart. I am on the 8th. I too am so excited. I have already gotten everything I need to pack I think.
Blessings!
I am three days diet coke free. That is since Saturday when I went on my preop diet and I actually haven't missed it. I have been drinking water with a little gaterade flavor pack in it for variety and protein water (I like the sweetened tea flavor).
Blessings!
Michelle,
You can definitely see the difference. Your whole body is much smaller but the difference in your face is amazing. Keep up the good work. Now that your band is helping you out I bet those pounds will begin to melt off.
Blessings!
Protein Shakes
Campbells Soups to Go
Yogurt Drinks/Smoothies
Special K Protein Water
Crystal Light
Propel Powder/Vitamin
Runny Oatmeal
Runny Cream of Wheat
Are a few of the ones I have thought I will take and I am in a similar situation at work as you. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an incredible amount of variety available even in the protein and creamy soup period. I believe we are allowed to go to protein shakes after 3 days. How long do we have to wait for creamy soup?
Blessings!
I get in very early on the 7th so Carolyn said there is a possibility of same surgery if I fast coming in. We may end up with the same surgery date Jackie.
Blessings!
I am going with my husband (He'll be the one cracking jokes and keeping everyone relaxed) We are Valerie and David and I am sure we will at least see you at the hotel in not at OCC on the 9th.
Congrats on your surgery. I have had a little longer to think about it but have been wishing it would come faster.
Blessings!
I was reading in another thread a very helpful formula. Don't remember who posted it but I thought is was great:
10 X goal weight = daily calorie intake needed.
My surgery is the 8th . I started my preop diet yesterday. I am using an isogenix shake. Dr. Miranda said any protein shake is good as long as it isn't to high calorie and it has enough protein (20 g or more) per shake.
Blessings!
