  1. Wow Michelle, This is wonderful!! I love watching everyone's tickers and stars change, it is a real boost. I am still on liquid. I lost 5.5 lbs first week since surgery but I am having trouble getting in close to enough calories to keep my body from going into starvation mode. Any ideas?
  2. I haven't had any gas pains either. I have had plenty of gas though and the little burps. They don't hurt much anymore but the first few days every little burp would make me wince. I do get a little shoulder pain if I drink to much at a time or too fast but I don't consider that a problem. It is helping me learn what the right amount for me to drink is.
  3. Thanks! I am only one week so I guess I will just have to wait. I am getting used to the waiting and it feels good to be able to but I agree Jena that first meal sounds good. I think I'll do Salmon for my first.(two weeks from today, I can't believe I am 1 weeks out) I also can't believe I am 5.5 lbs. down even with the swelling YEAH!
  4. I love to relax in a nice hot bath and I know we weren't supposed to have one right after surgery but I neglected to ask how long I should wait. Does anyone know?
  5. Hey Guys! Great to hear from you. I am doing really well, I plan to return to TJ for first fill and would love to coordinate to share transport. I am planning on making it a quick day trip. Let me know when you guys are going and I'll try and coordinate. I still feel like eating very little even liquid though so it is hard for me to think about getting a fill. Have any of you had discomfort at the band area everytime you eat?
  6. That is great Alana. I know what you mean. My first day back was so miserable that I left half way through. Then Today I felt great right up until time to go home. I am tired tonight but not feeling crummy.
  7. I am 7 days post op and have not cheated once. I am very proud of myself for that and the most amazing thing is that it really hasn't been that hard. I just had to make up my mind to do it.
  8. There was a lady in Dr. O's office the day of my surgery who had some erosion from being filled to tight and had to have all of the saline removed for two weeks before she could come back and have a refill. It's not worth the risk.
  9. I agree Jena, at this point a little tiny meal sounds like a feast. Hope you had a good trip home. Didn't see you at all after surgery. I am doing great mostly just need to rest a lot and have these little painful burps that drive me crazy.
  10. I had surgery thurs. and went back to work today. Didn't do so well and had to come home half way through the day. My next work day is Wed. and hopefully will manage a full day by then.
  11. I am not feeling great today either Alana. I think the trip yesterday really wore me out and then trying to go back to work today left me feeling really crummy so I came home around 1:30 and slept. I do feel a little better now. Since today was also the day I added yogurt smoothie to diet, I thought that may have made me feel worse. I'm not sure, I just know that for having just had surgery I am doing great but I certainly am not 100%.
  12. Time to catch up on my exercise challenge. I have walked 3 hours plus since having my surgery. Thanks Michelle
  13. Ok it was everything you all said it would be. OCC was awesome and the only hard part was the waiting. I was the last surgery of the day so I felt like I waited hungry alot but now that it is done and I am definitely not hungry, it is a thing of the past. We are still in TJ because we decided up front to stay an extra day. I have had very little pain or discomfort. I have to get up and down gingerly and have had some tiny little hicups or burps I can't tell which, that really hurt yesterday (day 1 post op) and only hurt a little bit today. We fly home tommorow but having a couple of walking days behind me I am not to concerned about the flight. It is only a couple of hours and I seem to do fine without walking for at least that much time. I met awesome people who were walking this journey at the same time. Brenda, Jennifer, Jena, Lisa, and Saul I hope you are all doing great! Blessings!
  14. We are here and planning to shop tommorow. I keep hearing about the mall and we did drive by that and then revolution blvd. where am I going to get the best deals and also where are the pharmacies, any experience?
  15. What is this about a new hotel? I am here right now for my banding sitting in the lobby of the Lucerna at this moment. This is a great place. What is the new hotel they are going to use in the future maybe I will walk and figure out where it is and check it out.
  16. It seems like forever ago that I started planning this (in fact it has been years) and I can't believe it is here and I didn't have to gain weight to get my BMI up so they would approve and me and then ask me to lose that same weight before surgery. I thank God for Dr. O and OCC.
  17. Awesome! I am so excited for you. It will go fast. I thought mine was never going to get here but 2 days and counting!
  18. I already decided that about once a week I will give my band a break and do a liquid day just to clear everything out and keep the detox going!
  19. I add 1 Tbs. to my protein shakes on preop and plan on doing that post op as well. Nothing is as obnoxious to me as not being regular.
  20. Only my husband and two of my teenage children know and I regret telling the teenage children who just give me grief and say things like you look great mom you don't need to loose weight (which we all know is a bunch of balony). My 16 year old daughter is especially obnoxious about this because she is rail thin and about 5 inches taller than me so doesn't see why I don't just eat healthier. I keep telling her the band is going to help me do that but she isn't buying it. Anyway our anniversary is the 17th so this is our anniversary trip and that is what everyone at work and my neighbors and friends who are on call for kids etc. know about it. When I do lose the weight I plan to tell people that I excercised and ate smaller portions because that will be the truth. I can't handle lying to people.
  21. May 6th I walked for 45 minutes.
  22. I have been packed for over a week. I am not really nervous at all. I just can't wait. We leave home at 5:30 tommorow morning to get to the airport for our flight. My husband is very supportive but my teen age daughter who is usually the sweetest thing on earth is being really obnoxious about the whole thing. I have chosen to keep it quiet outside of my immediate family and now I am wishing I hadn't told her.
  23. I seriously doubt it. From what I have read and seen on this forum you would have to vomit alot and very severely to make your band slip. Also if you can eat or drink anything it is probably not slipped.
  24. Awesome Alana. We'll see you there. I can't believe I fly out day after tommorow!
