  1. Hi Caro, I was banded on May 15th, so never got the opportunity to meet you. You're doing very well on the weight loss. Great loss, congratulations! When I'm in my car, and I reach to the window handle to open/close the window, that's when I really feel like I'm going to burst my incision. It hurts eh. I was at my family dr's today, and she was very impressed with the incisions, and said they are healing really nicely.
  2. Hey Rob.. I'm 7 days as well, and this is too funny! I said to a girl at my office today, that I could only drink 1/2 can of Slimfast at a time, as it made me so full. So I would drink 1/2 for lunch and 1/2 for dinner. Well wouldn't you know it, still slipping slowly, but I was able to drink the whole can! I couldn't believe it.
  3. Totally Awesome Eh! Great Job... what a great feeling that must be.. I can't wait. Keep up the good work girl!
  4. I'm thinking of adding Vodka to my Jello and having a fun night of Jello Shooters!
  5. So glad you're doing better, we've been waiting to hear from you. I would have told that "bitch" that the doctor treated you in the hospital yesterday, and told you to make an appt to see him. I would have then let him make the decision if he was going to charge you, and if he said yes, then I would have walked. But half the time receptionist's don't know squat! Congratulations on your weight loss.. .you're off to a good start!
  6. Even though I can't make the 175 and join your group, I am here to chear you on!!! You go girls! =D>
  7. Don't say that Wendy. Your first fill will help you, just be positive. And don't be negative on the weight gain. Most likely is water retention and nothing more. Hang in there..
  8. I am also 45, and happy I didn't wait any longer to do this. I told my mom yesterday and she cried. She was so happy for me. I didn't know this, but she said she had been worrying about me, and my health. What diseases I would get as I got older. My dad got type 2 diabetes when he was 45. I am so lucky to have found the forum and all of you, as you all are responsible for me finalizing the decision to get banded. > I have never made a decision so quick in my life. About five days after I started researching it, I knew it was right!
  9. I have just made the decision to get my fills done at Arlington Pharmacy as well. So many excellent reviews. (and good casino's on the way down from Canada!)
  10. Ah.. I didn't check the children's section. I will do that next time I go. I as well went to Superstore. I am feeling much better, thanks.
  11. Congratulations =D> that's great! I bet you'll have so much more energy that you used to as well. That's what I'm looking forward to.
  12. OMG that was gross! Sure hope it's worth it! lol
  13. Brittania.. here's some information that I found on Northwest Fills website. Looks like maybe OCC is sticking right in the middle of the 1-2cc. How much fill should I get? It is important to understand that the tissue in you gut is like the tissue in your mouth, it is very sensitive and swells very easily. Everyone is different; a good fill for one person is too tight for another person, or not enough for the next person. 1. The initial adjustment post operatively should occur at 6 weeks or later, and 1-2cc of Normal Saline (for the 9.75 or 10 cc band). The larger band (11CM and VG) adjustment os 3-4cc. 2. Regular reviews (4-6 weeks) are recommended with weight and clinical status measured. If weight loss is 1 pound per week over the period and patient is following bandster diet guidelines then another fill of normal saline is added at .2 to .5 increments. 3. If the weight loss average between visits is 2 plus pounds per week no fill is needed. 4. If the weight loss averaged between 1-2 pounds and the person feels hungry and found it difficult to comply with the dietary guideline/portions. 5. Fluid is removed from the system if there is symptoms of excessive restriction or obstruction, including excessive sense of fullness, heartburn, regurgitation and vomiting. 6. Fluoroscopy is needed for evaluation of band placement and/or port placement. 7. It is important know that the fluid in the band never adds up, it is always give or take 1 cc because fluid hides in the tubing or in the band.

  15. Yes .. thanks ladies! I have never had to crush a pill before. They don't sell liquid Tylenol here in Canada. Or if they do, I couldn't find it at the drugstore. I looked before I left for Tijuana. For the first time I am experiencing the shoulder pain.
  16. He's got a great sense of humour! You'll love him!
  17. I had a great time meeting all of you! Here's pic that Bernie took of us. Wish I could have drank her Strawberry Marguerita's though. They're my fave.. Missed you on the chat last night Renee.. Lots of talk about SEX!!! It was pretty funny. Hopefully we'll see you on next Monday. Take CAre! Anita Okay... I am having shoulder pain and getting really pissed at this @!*?$ computer. I can't update my ticker.. I followed Michelle's link, enter my pin, and nothing happens. I'm trying to put the pic of all of us here, and can't figure how to do it. I give up... I'm pissed! OMG>.. ya think I might be PMS'ing??? :-? Or, maybe it's lack of sex??? And how come I can only take 1 or 2 of these phazyme pills at a time. I wanna take the whole freekin bottle! (Okay, I got the pic to work.. now just to update my ticker)
  18. I totally agree PaulaBee... it was a blast!
  19. I brought way too much stuff. I also went to the supermarket while we were there, and bought some gaterade, vitamin water, bottled water, and hardly used any of it. You have to sip what you drink, so it will take you hours to drink any sizeable amount. You should be good with the 2 bottles of water they give you in the room each day. Bottled water is $2.50 in the restaurant. If you want the bottles cold, just bring them to the restaurant and they'll exchange them for cold ones for you. Just remember... it's much easier on you to drink liquids room temp or warm. Good Luck. The surgery is a piece of cake, just remember to walk, walk, walk.
  20. OMG... you look awesome! Congratulations! Keep up the great work!
  21. Eat your heart out ladies! Sweet dreams! lol
  22. Krista Sue and her 2 wild and crazy sisters and friend (adopted sister).. lol OMG.... you girls are too funny! Bernie and I had a great laugh on the way in the car. I will email you and you can email me at anitamoore@shaw.ca and Bernie at bryanec@telus.net. Just heading out to tell my mom what I did, before she hears it from somebody else. I have a big family, and everybody knows but her. Wish me luck! I'll email you tonight. Glad to hear you're doing well.
  23. I'm doing great Kimra. Better than I expected. I just emailed Dr. Miranda though, as I started the liquid yogurt yesterday, and it's going right through me. She told me to start on the liquid protein shakes, and drink alot less of the yogurt. I will half 1/2 cup of the shake later this afternoon, and see how that goes. I find that I am always feeling full right now. Can't drink very much at a time. I'm considering myself to be very lucky at how good I feel. I haven't had any of the gas pains in the shoulder, and the others have been tolerable. I was just speaking to a friend of mine who had her surgery here in Surrey BC, and she said that she suffered for several days with the gas pains, was on the couch for days, and taking tylenol 3's for the pain. Wow... I go back to work tomorrow and sit at a desk all day, so hopefully I'll be okay tomorrow.
  24. I totally have a party going on in my stomach, and it wasn't because I drank a whole bunch of alcohol! I wish! lol I'm sure it's all just gas.
