  1. I was doing reallly well until I started to taste some of my favourite foods as well and trust me... It's very difficult. I can relate. I as well make sure I have something on hand that will keep me happy and satisfied in case I have thoses urges. A good one is Breyer's fudgesicles. They satisfy my chocolate craving. How about trying a lien cuisine pizza? I know it's not the same, but may satisfy you enough. Try and do what Mama Michelle and Evette do.. and maybe some of the others. Once you have eaten what's on your "small" plate, put a listerine strip on your tongue. This will change the taste in your mouth, and hopefully, take away any urges you may have to continue eating. It takes 30 minutes for an urge to pass, so you must find something else to do during this time. Take a nice bubble bath, go for a walk, phone a friend, come on the forum.. talk to us.. we can go on chat and get you through this. Have you considered counselling? I went for 4 sessions and it's worked tremendously. This is not going to be easy but remember we are all in the same boat as you, and we are not going to let it sink!
  2. Oh yeah.. every man's fantasy.. for their other half to be in heat 24/7 and act like a wild animal... :girl_sigh:
  3. Lowest in 7 years... wow... what an accomplishment. A huge hug for you WillT. I wanna mud wrestle too! :training1: I love to get down and dirty!!
  4. Thinking and praying for all of your family Dawn. Take care of yourself. Your family needs you.
  5. Thanks everyone... I just drank a protein shake, and am back to the "sipping" and swallowing little bits of a time. My chest is still tight this morning. Y.Mommy... I booked only a week in advance, but when I was there yesterday, there was nobody there when I came or left. You could probably get an appt. with little notice. Without the floro was totally fine. They had me drink water after to make sure that it went down smoothly. They believe the floro is good to check to make sure that your band and port are in the correct position so they will work. They say only once a year is enough. I believe there are several reasons for the $50 charge within two weeks. They choose to be safe, rather than have you have to come back for an unfill. Everybody is different, and especially for women, certain times of the month will affect the band. They chose the 1.4cc for me based on my having restriction up until 1 1/2 weeks ago. A few of the bandsters on here have to go back for another fill 2-3 weeks after so this must be common. I hope this helps.. Anita And I will be there at 12:00 on the 5th.. you betcha! Looking forward to meeting everyone.
  6. I've been using this to my advantage! It's called "payback" !!
  7. HI Shannon.. I'm Anita. Congratulations on making your decision to be banded in TJ and for joining the forum. You will never regret it. I don't know much about your area, as I am from BC. I know that "Cathy" is from Ontario, you may wish to connect with her. Forum name "Kitty Cat". I am going to NorthWest Fills in Arlington, and they charge $150 for fills (not under Floro). $50 for an added fill if it's within 2 weeks of getting one. Good Luck... Anita
  8. OMG... I can so relate! I hate to say this, but it actually sounds good, because I don't think in the past several years, I've actually heard my stomach growl. It's always been full!!! :girl_haha:

  11. Jim... you are in my thoughts and my prayers, and I hope knowing all your friends are with you, will be of some comfort to you. You are right.. this week will be the hardest but you are strong and you will get through it. You will need to take time to grieve. It will help you get through it. Remember, we are all here if you need to chat. Just say the word. > Anita
  12. Tanya... you look great! Doesn't it feel so good, when your clothes are too big!! Keep up the great work.. you're doing awesome! Anita
  13. Mona... I'm so happy to hear you're doing so well. That's excellent... congratulations! If you're finding your more restricted in the evening, drink hot water (with a slice of lemon is nice). It will go down much easier than cold water. Good Luck! Anita
  14. I have heard that pedometers can be misleading, because even if you just move your leg (like getting up from a desk) it counts a step?? Is this true? This is the only reason I haven't bought one yet.
  15. Hi Julie and Marlene... what worked for me when I started my solid foods, was cottage cheese, deviled eggs, tuna (although I can't tolerate it now), chicken, turkey, taco salad (eat meat first), non-fat sour cream. It can take your stomach up to 20 min. before you are no longer hungry. Eat slowly, chew well, and you will find that it will take you 20 min. to finish the food on your smaller plate. After the hour is up after you've finished eating, if you no longer feel full (but are still not hungry) drink lots of water. This will keep you feeling full. If you find that you just can't make it in between meals, have an apple, small piece of low fat cheese, or even for me, 1/2 glass of a protein drink, kept me going until dinner. I rarely got an carbs in, and I always had alot of energy. I hope some of this helps. Be patient... you're worth it!! Anita
  16. I am definitely going to be in the area and would love to meet. Lisa.. are you in??
  17. Hi All... I have alot of catching up to do. Was up in Whistler all weekend. I've missed coming on here daily, and keeping up with how everybody's doing. Hope you're all well! I went to Arlington today for my 1st fill. Robin and Kitty are very nice and very experienced. The gave me 1.4 cc and explained that because I was swollen and had good restriction up until about 1 1/2 weeks ago, that gave them the impression that I may swell easily, and they wanted to play it on the safer side. I was fine with that. I am heading down to the area this weekend, and Kitty said that if I felt that I needed a bit more, I could phone her on her cell phone or call the office on Monday morning, and she would meet me at the clinic. (Even if she wasn't scheduled to work!) She said she gets her lunch hour at 1:00 so it would have to be then. Robin then stated she wasn't doing anything Monday, and would come in as well. Wow... what service! The cost for the initial fill and measurements was $175.00. Another fill within 2 weeks is $50.00. Every fill thereafter $150.00. They did not use floro. They believe that you don't need floro unless there is good reason to suspect something is wrong. They do recommend it at the end of each year. Took 2-3 times to find the center of my port, as my port was tilted a bit. It was also very deep, and they had to bring it closer to the surface. She said if I did these small exercises 10 times a day (lay flat on my back, lift my left leg slightly and lift my head slightly, hold for a couple of seconds and release) it would strengthen the muscles in my stomach and my port would move closer to the top. Voila... that's it.. I think I can handle that. My port is located approx. 2 inches below my largest scar on the left hand side on my stomach. I was advised nothing to eat/drink for 1 1/2 hours prior to the fill, and liquids only for the next 24 hours, mushy for the next 24 hours, and then normal after. I have been able to drink no problem. Feel a little bit of tightness in my chest but everything is going down nicely. I'm anxious to see what the weekend brings. Lisa.. you are close to Arlington, and mentioned that you would like to come up and meet me. I will PM you and we can make arrangements, and if anyone is close to there and would like to meet up, that would be great! If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Anita

  21. Wow... isn't it amazing how each one of us is so different, but we've all had the same procedure? I haven't tried scrambled, but have had an omelet, and hard and soft boiled eggs, and they all go down easy. Interesting.... :-?
