  1. Happy Birthday and congratulations!!! You are doing a great job! Enjoy your day.
  2. Not having restriction after the first fill is normal, If your band had slipped, you would not be able to eat anything. It takes most people 2 or 3 fills to hit their sweet spot, sometimes more. Not sure how tall you are but according to your weight it looks like you have a lower BMI, The less you have to lose, It seems the tougher it is! Hang in there, you are normal, and you should see a difference with your next fill.
  3. Wow thats funny they changed it from 3 months, but just my opinion here, I was banded in May. My first fill was 6 weeks later in June and my port was just fine, I had to start training for a tahitian dance I was going to perform in Aug. I didn't realized how much ab work was involved. When I went back for my 2nd fill, my port had tilted. now sits sideways and sticks out some, I am sure it was because of the training I was doing. So my advice would be to wait at least 3 months before doing abs. I wish I had
  4. I put hot sauce on everything!!!! Once in awhile when something gets stuck it starts to burn a little, but other than that i never have any trouble. Franks red hot sauce with chile and lime is my favorite
  5. Hi my son lost all his weight, (140 lbs.) doing what he calls the lean cuisine diet. He was banded a year ago January. He eats one for each meal. I myself eat 2 a day, and yes I eat the whole thing, that question was brought up last summer, so I asked Kitty at NW fill center If I should be able to eat a whole one, and she said yes, I try to eat the ones with the highest protein, for those of us who have portion control problems, (me, me, me) I find these to be the best solution, I even add green beans or spaghetti squash to mine. They keep me full for a good 4 or more hours. I also eat WW smart ones. You are doing a great job! glad you are feeling better.
  6. I decided on my own, when I was getting hungry between meals.
  7. The OCC tried to switch over to that hotel in May of 2008, nobody liked it, it didn't have a pool and not as nice as the Lucerna, so they switched back. Most people requested to stay at the Lucerna, Myself included.
  8. wow what a difference, you have come a long way.. You look great!!! Keep up the good work.

    Christmas 2008

You are beautiful.. You should be so proud of yourself! You can see a big differance from christmas 2007 to this last christmas. Keep up the good work.
  10. You must have a lower BMI, I did too, and when they asked me my weight I quessed, and was told not to gain any. After I hung up I stepped on the scales and to my horror I actually weighed 12 pounds more than I thought. I was so scared, so I just did 2 lean cuisines a day and a shake for breakfast, I lost the 12 pounds in 2 weeks. It won't hurt anything to try and lose a couple before surgery, they just don't want you to gain. They do offer diet options, just give your coordinator a call, and she can hook you up with Dr. Miranda.
  11. Kim, I felt the same way the first week after I had my tt and boob job, but that did pass, and now I am so happy with the results. Hang in there, it is painful but worth it.
  12. CONGRATULATIONS =D> =D> =D> You should be so proud of yourself!! Time to change your name to bigali_nomore
  13. I have silicone, that sits above the muscle, They are like gummy bears, Since they were above the muscle they never rode high or had to settle, those that felt them say they feel real. I had mine done in Canada and silicone was just a tad bit more expensive, My surgeon called them the cadillac of boobs, and they came with a 20 year warrenty. However now they won't operate on americans any longer so I guess my warrenty is void My only regret is that I went to BIG.. I can't wear any button up shirts or blouses without gaps, I think they make my upper body look FAT.. They were suppose to be full c but are more like Large d's/dd's. Eventually I want to get them smaller but It will cost more than what I originally paid to have them replaced. Plus my husband LOVES LOVES LOVES them.
  14. I happened to be in Vegas for my first day of solids, I was at a loss of what to eat, so I had a veggie subway sandwich and had no problems. Since then and 2 fills later I can take a bite once in awhile of my husbands but mainly the meat. Just remember to chew chew chew.
  15. Hi, I have the 4cc and my son has the VG, we both had the same number of fills, (3) and we are both at our sweet spot, he just had larger fills than I did. Having the Vg band dosen't necessrily mean more fills.
  16. I took both and left them in my room, I used the hotel safe for my passport, credit cards and jewlery while I was at the clinic. It's free and I just pinned the key to the inside pocket of my shorts. I felt much safer locking that stuff up.
  17. Hi Karen, I had a regular tt I guess, hip to hip, Is the extended to lift your back side? I would get a second opinion, I also had a lift and implants done at the same time, I was hunched over for about 4 days with the tt tuck, the breasts did not hurt at all but mine were placed above the muscle. As far as the scars go mine stayed dark but I think that was because no one told me to stay out of the sun and I was using tanning beds all the time back then. (8 years ago) So I did the tattoo over it which I love.. but it took me 7 years to find someone that would tattoo over a scar. I am glad I stayed close to home when I had it done, I really couldn't imagine flying home, even after a week.
  18. What I hate most is eating out with other couples, It happened last night, My first bite got stuck, I got wrapped up in the moment and forgot to chew, no one knows I was banded so making excuses to go to the bathroom to pb was tough, I was in pain and kept slimming. I kinda ruined dinner for all, The other couple thought I was sick and we were home by 8:30, 2 minutes into the car ride home my food went down and I felt fine. Other than that I love my band, it controls my hunger and eventually the amount of food I can it. (still have a tough time with knowing when I'm full) The only thing I might have done different and still might, Is tell some of my friends so I don't look like an idiot when we go out to eat!
  19. Hey Vangirl, you are doing great and you will succeed! Are in vancouver WA. or Vancouver canada or does van have nothing to do with location. LOL if your in vancouver bc where did you find a local dr. for your fill? I am in Point Roberts. Oh did you know trs893 is only 15.. she is a great inspiration to all and has done so well.. Keep up the good work.
  20. I get that feeling when food gets stuck, you think I would have learned by now to chew chew chew, but I always forget. Old habits are hard to break, I only had 1.4 on my first fill and I got food stuck all the time, My son always scolded me saying bad bandster!!!!! The max that I can have in my band, without total restriction is 2cc, so everyone is different. So just remember to chew chew chew.. and no cold pizza (used to be my favorite but no friggin way now)
  21. There is a topic, under general topics listed shoulder pain. It sounds like you have the same shoulder pain most of us experience. I think you will find that thread useful.
  22. My husband brought me a piece for our anniversary last wednesday, I was at work, well I just had to try a bite. The damn thing got stuck, so for me cake is a no no and I guess that is a good thing.
  23. I started on day 7, counting my surgery date as day 1. hope that helps.
  24. CONGRATULATIONS, You are a true inspiration to all.. You seem so wise beyond your years. You should be so proud of yourself. Keep up the good work!! HAPPY BANDIVERSARY.
