just wanted to let everyone know that I have lost 2 pounds so far (with the end of the year parties and everything)!!! I also cut my hair off. I will put some pics of it on here hopefully tonight. I am off and rolling to the new me.

I will be banded the day before you are. I am sure that you will find out the answers to all or most of your questions on here. I am on here every day just looking and learning from everyone elses experiences (it helps with the nerves). I look forward to meeting you in MX, hopefully I will be up and about when you get there. I'm not sure where we are at either, I haven't heard yet. How much weight do you have to lose before surgery?

I am being banded on the 2nd, but I am staying an extra night at the resort so I will still be there when you and your parents get to TJ. I am so nervous/excited/scared. I can't wait to have the surgery. I have been on the pre-op diet for three days now and I'm doing pretty good. I am a teacher and since we are having end of the year parties at school it has been a little hard to stick to the diet, but this is the reason I started it early. I can't wait to meet you. Keep posting, the people on here are wonderful and full of advice. Heidi (i'm going to have to try that schedule, I think that will be A LOT EASIER)

Let us know what Dr. Miranda said. I am having my surgery on June 2. I have been learning to like slim fast shakes. I only have 41 more left to drink...lol

I am starting my pre-op diet tomorrow. I went to Wal-Mart today and stocked up on Slim Fast and Lean Cuisine meals. I am not looking for to the next three weeks. Is Lean Cuisine meals the only ones that we can eat or can we do Healthy Choice? I am not a big fan of the Lean Cuisine. lol I am also going to start going to the gym and doing some cardio. I know that with other surgeries, the better shape you are in the better results you have (faster healing). I have noticed that since I have found out my surgery date, I have been eating just to be eating. I think I am eating cause I am nervous and that I won't be able to eat all the food that I am able to now, so I might as well enjoy it while I can. (I think this is how I got in this situation to begin with) lol I can't wait to get my band and start my new life. I am looking forward to finally being able to wearing clothes that are in style, not just what I can find that fits me. I want to be able to wear a swimsuit and not be embarrassed. I go Monday to get my hair cut to start the process for the new me off. I have had long hair ever since high school and I am getting it cut off. I figure if I want to have the new me, I have to start with a new pallet. I know I will be calling on you guys to keep me motivated in the pre-op phase, and even more in the post-op. I'm with Cali, I would mention it to him if he doesn't want to have it done. You could always go with a couple massage while you are in MX. I think that would be a fun gift to have. I am thinking of doing that for my hubby. I guess I like romantic stuff though.

Yes, I am driving. We are leaving the Wed. or Thursday before and driving out. We are going to spend a day in LA and do the tours of the homes. You know like a real tourist. lol I have never been to CA so I am pumped. We are planning on getting to MX early Sunday that way I can also have the whole experience there. I can't wait.

Thank you all for your opinions. We have decided to drive out to CA. We are going to leave on the evening of the 29th and drive out there. I am going to stay an extra day at the resort. We are going to take our time on the way home. He took off the entire week of the second and I am off for the summer so I don't have to be in a big hurry to get back. We are planning on it taking three or four days to get home that way I don't have to stay seated for long periods of time. I am really looking forward to a road trip (hopefully on the next one I will be at least 50 pounds lighter) I can't wait!!! Thanks, Heidi

Thank you. I paid my deposit and sent off my paperwork today. I am so excited and nervous. Now all I gotta do is lose these 10 pounds in 25 days.. Going to start early that way I can make it... Heidi

We are going to stay an extra night. We will also probably stay a night in San Diego before leaving to come back home. So I would be there for two or three days after my surgery before heading back home. We are staying the extra day or two no matter what before I head back home.

Thank you all for your advice. I am going to call Lori today and talk to her about this and some other questions that my hubby has. I think I would be fine if we did decide to drive. I would be able to stop and see the sights along whole way. lol I think it could be fun as long as I keep my meds with me. I have never been to CA the furthest I have been in CO so I think it could be fun and like Jenn said the two of us on a trip like that would be a great memory. I would be able to sleep, pull over and walk when I needed to. I will keep you posted on my decision. > Thanks again. Flan

My husband is deathly scared of flying. He has never been on a plane (had to trick him into getting on a roller coaster in FL on our honeymoon), and he is the one going with me to have my surgery. We live in Oklahoma and he is wondering if there is ANY WAY POSSIBLE if I would be able to ride back in a car. He is wanting to drive out there and back. He doesn't want me to go have the surgery without him, he just can't figure out how to get out there with me if I can't do the car ride home. PLEASE HELP! Flan
