  1. I have been doing pretty good for a couple of months now, but recently we decided to move to another state and I am so freaked out about getting everything ready in that direction, that I haven't been logging my food, or execising. I don't even think about the band most of the time. A few times I really overate what I wanted and felt heart pain, that's it. I think I need a better fill, I had three fills in a 4 cc band for a total of 1.7. I guess I need to always put the band habits that I am working to create first. Including reading and writting in this site. Barb
  2. At 5' 6" too, and I was 205 pounds, I was not put on a diet from OCC in TJ. Dr Miranda will be the one to decide, she changes her way of doing things sometimes. Barb
  3. Have a great time and stay in the moment. Be there camping and we will be here when you get back. 25 pounds is great, that is above average weight loss! Over two pounds a week, you are doing something right! Bye,bye Julie, Barb
  4. Good luck kitcat, I hope you get the fill you need. why do you not want to mention restriction? I am trying to get the docs to give me more fill. Barb
  5. I have been banded less than 3 months and lost 30 pounds, so I can feel the port easily under the skin. It does not hurt and it doesn't show, only the scar shows. If it gets to be a problem and shows through the skin when I reach my goal weight and am at my sweet spot, the doctors in TJ said they will put it under the muscle instead of on top. I don't feel any different, I want to. I want to not be able to eat so much and get a big enough fill. Don't worry, no one I have met ever regrets getting banded. The proof is in the weight loss for me. Barb
  6. I know what you mean, I was 205 and 5'6". Also Mexico, are you out of your mind. But research and this site convienced me it was what I needed to do. Less than 3 months later I am 30 pounds less and much happier. My hubby ended up going with me to TJ and meet the sweetist friends there that I am still in touch with. What a bounus!!! Only you know what weight you feel your best at physically and mentally Barb
  7. I hope that you get rid of the anoying 2 pounds soon!
  8. Hi Michelle, Yeah your move is over! I have been missing reading your posts. Barbara
  9. I thought I'd share this quote, it is somthing that I have heard years ago and keep it in mind even today. "What you think of me is none of my business"
  10. I hope you get some results, I have a thyroid condition and see and endocrologist for it, I take an armour supliment every day. Maybe it helps? Glad you are taking care of yourself, keep up the good work.
  11. I had one episode and not since. It's almost funny to have it happen the first time, I thought I was imune LOL Be careful Honey, bread is hard for many...I don't eat it at all, not because I slimed on it, I didn't, it was chicken, BUT because I have heard of so many that do! Have a great day, you'll be fine. Barb
  12. Man oh Man Julie, I hope that this is over for you. That must have been so hurtful for you hear. I think the girl who passed it on to you was also hurt and it must have felt doubble worse. It is important that you stay as calm as you can or your going to flair up the fibro and who needs that? You are doing great, we all love you and think you are the best. Hang in there girlfriend! Barb
  13. It has only been 12 weeks post op for me, but I know what you mean. I was a bindge eater and a sneek eater, I used food for all the wrong reasons that one should eat. The band is a tool that is helping me change. This forum is a god sent gift full of the most lovely ladies that will help lift you up when you start to go down the wrong path. read, read , read, love yourself and keep up the good work. Food is tasting better than ever! Barb
  14. Kittycat, your hair is looking lighter, just like you. What a cute cut on you, I got mine cut too, does yours feel healthier too? The new picture is nice, like you! When I like what I see in the mirror, I feel sexy. A good hair day will do that most of the time. Barb
  15. That is great Kim, you have a whole .6 cc more! that should make a huge difference, sweet spot, here comes Kim! what did this doc tell you to do after your fill? Barb
  16. I didn't tell my doctor, but I'll bet the PA I told did. She told me that she is thrilled I am having it done and that she has seen it change peoples lives.
  17. No water half hour before and No water 1 hour after eating. Breakfast: 1 cup spinage egg beaters low fat swiss cheese salsa Snack: 1 cup fresh blueberries 1 non fat yogurt Lunch: chicken breast mixed with either, mayonase, tomatoes, lettuse, cucumbers, sourcream, salsa what ever suits me that day Dinner: lean cusien or same as lunch or lean meat or fish with vegatables I am staying away from most carbs for now, it keeps me from craving sugar and pastries, I walk the treadmill 1 hour also.
  18. Day of surgery and two months after, can you guess which is which?
  19. Thanks guys, I keep pushing for more of a fill and get told that there are dangers to the band site ulsering if they over fill and that I won't be able to swollow my own spit.
  20. Hi all, I don't get it, I have had 3 fills in under two months and I never get anything stuck, or PB. I can eat anything and amount. I am using self control for now. Is my band not working, is there a problem with it? My husband looks at me eat and is shocked after the expetations we had about the pouch holding only a cup or so of food. I can hold 4 cc and have 1.7. Barb
  21. That is a great question because I have had so many different people come up with different numbers from 167-130. That is a huge difference. My guess is that number is based on what you feel best at and can mantain. I have 144 because that is what Dr Miranda told me. Do what you are most comfortable with.
  22. Wow Kim, your tummy has come down so much! Size 12 YEAH
  23. Out of all the people that I met at the OCC Dr M was the only person I found to be phoney, she smiled on the outside and tried to apear warm, but I truely felt that she is not interested on a personal level at all! I felt she didn't fit in with everyone else there.
  24. Hi Kim, I have been keeping up with your posts because I feel that I relate to the small fills. I know that you are going to a new fill doc on Friday and I am with you on hoping that you get your sweet spot. When I went to the doctor Mon the 18th. The receptionist had me come in when I told her of my frustration of feeling that I am still in Bandster Hell. The fill PA was NOT happy to see me back so soon (last fill was on the 6th) and said she only does fills every 4 weeks and it was too early. I was very upset and explainded that I needed more, I wanted the tool to start helping me becasue I at the point of giving up. Like you I feel that I am dieting and exerciseing with out a tool. And like in the past, after so long, I give in to old behaviors. She gave in and not to happily gave me an extra .2 cc. Today I had a solid breakfast and feel a kind of naussia full. No PB'g. that's fine with me. I am going to see if I can get away with eating less and still being satisfied. Another cool thing that the receptionist did for me is to send me (for free) to the nutritionist and the physch person to talk to. The nutrit told me to find out my BMR and plan my calorie intake around that, she said it makes all the difference in the world to know. The physch invited me to monthly group sessions and to read a book "mindless Eating". the thery that I got so far from the book is that if you loose slowly (1 lb) per week that you can fool you body and it will not even realize you are looseing the weight and will avoid cravings and other things that frustrate and sabatoges loosers like going into starvation mode. She also said that the 2+ pound loosers are the 400 pound men. the band is not ment to be like by-pass where your body melts away before your eyes. People with the by-pass are less likely to be long term succeseful and the slow and steady loosers with the band that usually do not gain the weight back. Her best advise to me is to be patient and have faith in the band. The truth is it has been 11 weeks since my surgery and I have lost 30 pounds, 3 per week, I could not have done that before having the band. so I guess I will try for now to be patient and have faith in the band. I want it all yesterday!!!
  25. I slept on my back until I was comfortable on my tummy. I am not a back sleeper. I used pillows when on my side to suport my arms and legs, that seemed to help. Your doctor my know something that we don't so I would say to call him and ask for more details, like is this normal or if he found a situation inside of you that requires some TLC
