  1. I have a number 10 band and it holds 4 cc's. I have had three fills and I have 1.7 cc as of three days ago. I hope to have restriction now?
  2. Hi Shasha, thank you for sharing you story. Poor kid, and with those beautiful eyes too, don't be sad. I have read a lot before being banded and my biggest fear was to be opened up the way you were. the books said it can happen and does from time to time, sorry it was to you. Mabe there will be a tummy tuck for you in the future and all those scars will be traded in for one scar out of the way and a very flat tummy. It will all work out for you in the end. One day at a time. Be well and take care of your self, the band is a journey and it is slow but almost always goes forward, sometimes with baby steps and sometimes in leaps. Be patient and pray. Barb
  3. I think that the oder will stay untill you elimanate the cause...ketosis, vitamins, or hormones.
  4. Hi there, I know that vitamins make my underarms secrete a bad oder, and will stain my white t-shirts too. I am pretty sure it is the Vit B's that do it to me. But Ketosis will too. This too shall soon pass. Also hormones make me smell at certain times of the month.

  6. Hi Kimmie, I don't know if this is a help, but I was at the doctors today for a fill AGAIN! The PA didn't want to give me more, but I got her to give me .2 so that I am up to 1.7 The 1.5 gave me NO restriction. I was blown away when she said it may take up to 6 fills to get to the sweet spot. I told her some people get there much faster. She tried to scare me and said that too much could cause the stomach to ulcer around the band. After that I went to talk with the nutritionist and physch person. I was told that the amount calories you take in only works if you know your basic metabolic rate, which could be anywhere from 800, which means the 1200 I'm on is too high, or the hour a day of exercise is making higher 1600 and I am not getting enough! Geez She said it costs around 50 bucks and gets done at gyms such as Baily's The physch lady said do not count on exercise to loose weight and told me I would enjoy reading the book "Mindless Eating" by Brian Wansink, PH.D. She also invited me to join the monthly meeting of lapband patients. I can't go this Wednesday because I am having my cat declawed and want to be around to care for him. Maybe in sept. It is a good thing that they don't charge you for the extra help. Please let me know how you do on Friday, I hope you get the fill that will take you to your sweet spot. Your friend Barb
  7. Poor girls, I remember what that is like. I wonder if any of you are using the sweet curber that dr miranda talks about Chromium Pictolate? it comes in under the tounge drops to for faster action
  8. Hi there, I don't like to follow recipes so here is what I do. I only like my chicken moist and this works every time.... I buy a large package of chicken breasts at Sam's remove all visable fat place in a pot and fill with just enough water to cover chicken (you could add flavors if you want) I don't bring to a boil and then COVER pot and do NOT lift cover for one hour. put the breasts in a coverd container in the frig. The good thing is that you can dress these up in many different ways to suit your taste, example: for lunch try some mayo and cut up with greens or I love mexican so cut up with salsa and low fat sour cream try an italion version with some cheese and sauce How about some of Paul Newmans light seasame ginger dressing on cut up chicken over bought shredded cabbage? there are so many ways to get creative. For me it makes such quick meals. hope that helps

  10. I'm 55 and doing okay, I am waiting to hit my sweet spot, going for a third fill in sept Do my best to follow the rules and exercise.
  11. Like you, I exercise my butt off. Also I don't have restriction, i have 1.2 on my first fill and was told that they usually do 2 on the first fill. So when I went for my second fill, I expected .8, she only gave me .3 and said that I would have great restriction. I don't. I have to fight from overeating all the time. I wonder if I insist on a bigger fill if they will give me one... I go back on the 3rd of September. Kim, I hope you get the fill you want, let us know.

  13. Hi Kim, Good for you. I've got to say that you have lost 60 lbs in less than six months and I think that is a good pace. It would be even better if you didn't have to be hungry and get the right fill. I am thinking that I might be dealing with a similar (small fill doctor), I have two fills and 1.5 CC Let us know how you make out?
  14. thank you guys, I had no clue what avatar was. By George, I think I got it! The picture is a couple of weeks old and already out dated, I just got home from getting 6 inches cut off my hair, and like my body, it feels lighter and moves better...LOL
  15. That is a very cool way to look at it. I agree with everybody and what they said, me too. I no longer binge on junk food when I have those unwated feelings of rejection.
  16. I have been on the forum for months now and I can't figure out how to get my photo to show...I want to be like everyone else. If you click on my name, it will show so I know it got downloaded, but not on it's own. I just want to shove some food in my mouth! This is bugging the crab out of me for some reason. And I would like to change my name to just "GirlBarb" I feel like an idiot
  17. Sorry, her is some MOJO...Mojo....MOJO I was stuck at 180 for about 6 weeks and I feel your pain. I finally broke that last week and dropped a few, we'll see what happens on Sunday when I get weighed, I may have to adjust my protien too, I eat about 70 g a day.
  18. I got my second fill a week ago and it brought me up to 1.5 CC. I don't have tons of restriction, never PB, but I am not as hungry, I eat less and go longer feeling full. This is what I have always wanted. Diets left me hungry and guilty for cheating, and pills made me a total BITCH. I always gained back more than I took off. And then the health problems starting kicking in with menapause. I am so much happier now. I know I can push the band with a bigger fill, but really do I want to risk the side effects of being too tight. I am living life a day at a time now, and loving it, and you guys too. I LOVE MY BAND

  20. Thank you Julie, I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling, but happy to hear that you keep working at getting better. Are you a nurse? I don't think any of us see ourselves as out true age. Is that a bad thing? Better than the other way around. I don't know if this will help you, but a freind that knew I suffered form fibromyalgia (brain fog and migrains have stpped since being banded) gave me a work out tape: Priscilla is an older instructor that has been around for years, she is on public tv weedkays around 6 am and her tape "STRENGTHENING STRETCHES: For Fibromyalgia nd Chronic Muscle Pain" The tape is two 15 minute sections. It is gentle and will release stored energy for you to use. It unlocks some of the resistance we feel in our bodies that make us feel old. The tape is one of lots that I have but this one I keep going back to. I have always been an exercise guru, I am a certified (outdated) exercise instructor and owned a womens fitness for three years. Like diets that I go on and off of, I do that with exercise too. The picture is 6 years old, I will post a newer one, I don't look too much different, just heavier by 15 pounds. I took a picture of myself for MaMaMichelles web site just yesterday to see how I'll look thinner.
