  1. Dear MaMaMichelle, I just loved this post, it is such wonderful advise, I will take it to heart and use it. Regarding the scale, I have stopped weighing everyday. My hubby is going to be my scale moniter and weigh me only on Sundays...Thank you John again for your support. We picked Sunday because he works on some Saturdays.
  2. Oh this can be a battle, I struggled with a platue of 180 for about 7 weeks. I exercised just about every day and ate right. Well I got my 2nd fill three days ago and last night was tough!! Hubby ate a big bowl of pasta AND I WANTED SOME TOO! I resisted the temptation../God must have helped me. The happy ending is that I weighed in this morning at 176. And pants that were tight two weeks ago are a bit hanging off my butt. So hang in there and follow the rules....this tool is such a gift...use this gift when you can. And pray that we all get to our sweet spot so the journey will be easier (not easy) but easier! Hugs to you all, Barb
  3. Banded 6-6-08 194.5 Seond fill 8-6-08 184 Down 10.5 pounds, so about 5.25 pounds per month. But down 2 full sizes in pants and lost 10 in one week before surgery
  4. How are your inches doing? And check to see that calories aren't sneeking in your drinks.
  5. Have a great vacation, you desirve it. I had my second fill on Wednesday, I don't know if it's working because I am still on liquids, but I do feel a difference in my gut and I feel the coldness when I drink. I hope you found your sweet spot. You are a sweetie.
  6. I take herbs for liver and adreal support. Love them.
  7. I am two months post-op and went to chiro and massage last week. I saw my band in me on the chiro's x-rays. He he no problems
  8. Hi Trina, Yeah I do both also, it's not so hard when you use online programs for help. I was surprised that sometimes I didn't get enough and found out how quickly some foods eat up your calories. Try FitDay online
  9. Let's answer these questions. No a different PA did the fill this time. She did not numb the site at all, which was great because it hurt less than the numbing needle. This PA thought that the first fill was not aggressive enough and she would put much more in for me. But decided on .3 cc and I don't know how she can tell, but the other PA said the same thing...I have restriction. I asked about leaving the needle in, she said only when they are having a problem between too much and not enough on patients that really need it, she told me it's not the safest way to do it. I have a size 10 band which holds 4 cc. My next appointment is Sept 3rd. I don't expect perfection dealing with the human body, and from what I read here, it has given the knowledge to hang in there because maybe, just maybe I will have restriction. I am really doing my best with correct for choices, and lots of exercise. What else can I do? Barb
  10. Hi, it's been three weeks since my first fill. I got 1.2 cc and didn't have any restriction. I was told to come back in and I would get 1.3 additional fill. Well when the PA put the needle in, she said that I had restriction and then only put in .3 cc. She said I would get good restriction from the .3 cc. Now I am off solids for four days. I am hungry. I lost two pounds in the past three weeks. I use the treadmill an hour everyday.
  11. Great Vix, sounds like he loves you after all It will be great having his suport. My husband likes to remind me to chew, chew, chew Sweet but anoying too LOL
  12. Great pictures, your features are really popping. And your mid-section has gone way down...that's where we all like to lose.
  13. I don't know if the lenght of the tubing of the band differs from person to person, but that has to be filled before the fluid even gets to the band. And that takes some volume. thats why they can put more than 4 cc in a band, some is in the tube.
  14. I was afraid of that too, so I have a precription of rectal suposatories in the frig, just in case. I haven't had to use them, and when you have the surgery, they ask about that and give you extra meds to be sure you don't hurl.

  16. Wow you have gotten some really good advice, the quality of people on this forum is excellent. That said, I would like to let you know that she may be jealous that you are spending money on doing somthing for yourself that she can't afford due to her poor spneding habits. I have heard other say that they didn't share with family because of that reason. Some people don't get the dangers of being overweight and look at this surgery like "plastic surgery" instead of a serious major operation to prevent so many illnesses in the future. So sorry that you are having to go through this now...why does everything seem to happen at once?
  17. I took a look at your photo link, and it is amazing how wonderfully far your have come on you journey. You must be feeling great!! Under 200 and in the ones...YEAH
  18. Whoopie, What a feeling! You have come along way already and the best is yet to come....keep it up
  19. AMEN to following the guide lines. Like any tool, it works if you use it right. It is a great tool.
  20. it litterally waters my eyes to read the kind words of support from all of you and that you understand this small victory. You guys are the best...Barb
  21. Hi All, I have been whining about not having retriction after my first fill. What has really got me down is that I have weighed between 180 and 182 for the last 6 weeks! Well, today I got on the scale and saw 179.5. I know it is so little, but I am about to jump out of my skin to see the 170's. I started using the FitDay site that another member told us about and it is helpful for me to track my food for the day in the early am! And next Thursday is not far off...I get my second fill. YEAH 170's
  22. You're lucky that you have such an understanding doctor. Good Luck, sounds like you're in good hands.
  23. I wonder too. Potatoe and other mushy foods will get liquidy if you add fluids to them? Did you get a list of what is considered mushy food? I was so surprised at all the foods that fall into that catagory on the list from my fill doctor.
  24. Thanks, it looks like what I need to do, I have been giving myself too many choices because it is easier to eat what my husband eats and too expencive to feed him what I need...he is a huge eater and doesn't gain.
