  1. I had my first fill on Friday too. But I can't relate because I don't have any restriction, I'm hungry, chewing well and nothing is stopping...feels like before I had a fill.
  2. Trina, when I had my tummy tuck, the plastic surgeon told me to keep the scar out of the sun to avoid a more noticable scar. I would wait until your scar turns white/silver before exposing it. Wear a tankini for now??
  3. Love my Dell too. I was first filled 1.2 last Friday and I am hoping to get some retriction soon. I want restriction Wha-Wha-Wha
  4. I asked Dr Martinez about the port showing when I loose al my weight. Sometimes in skinny people that don't need to loose andy more weight and teenagers that wear thight tops, the port will show. He said they fix that by doing surgery and lower the port under the muscle. Must be when you don't need any more fills.
  5. looks like something to do in front of the TV too
  6. Three of us bandsters and my husband kept hearing: I've been waiting you, I knew you where coming!
  7. Wow, do ou mind telling me what is his price without flouro? Barb The doctor I saw was Metz, he had his PA do the injection.
  8. Yeah, you will be there in no time
  9. I just ordered one of each. thank you for the cool lead
  10. I had mine done in Colorado this past Friday. They did the pillow thing too. But did not leave the needle in while I drank, I guess I was going to have what she gave me, no more or no less (unless she would have to poke me again) I got 1.2 CC and don't feel restriction yet...I hate having to go another whole month...I want to be out of bandster hell. I have lost only one pound in the last month.
  11. I'm with you, I think the boobs will be the place for me to get fixed, I have always wanted them fixed, ever since I had a teenage prgnancey, that did me in. I had a tummy tuck 15 years ago when I got divorced, I don't regrete that either.
  12. Yeah, I t sounds like the fill you had during surgery might too much of a fill, but I agree you neeed to be checking your eating and chewing. Congrats on the weight lose so far, and good luck, keep us posted?
  13. I had my first fill on Friday and was disappointed to get only 1.2cc. I was expecting more becasue the ladies that went with me to mexico got more, one got 2.4cc. I feel restriction, but very mild, not like PO surgery, and I am satisfied with less, I will be able to test solids on Tuesday afternoon. I am talking to myself a lot about all the things that I have heard on this site about taking it slow. I want to be at goal weight NOW. I also have fibromyalga and know that it is a strong personality trait amoung us who have it to want perfection and control, most are professionals, I am an engineer. I had fill here in CO because it was much cheaper and closer. It cost 125 for the first visit and 50 for all the next ones. The PA did the fill, the doc was nice and knew of Dr Ortez. I am not to happy that he wants me to have an expensive upper barium done to see if the band is in the correct location (because it was done in TJ) Insurance doesn't pay for band related stuff. I told him I would sign a waiver if the cost for the test was too high. We'll see.
  14. You are getting me so excited, I hope I can do that well! Beautiful
  15. Thank you guys for all the great ways to deal. I will use them as much as I can. I love to walk, but my orthotics are not working well and my heel spur is killing. I do need a hobby and will go to Michaels and see what I can come up with. I had my first fill today, it was a little crazy, they told me they didn't have my records, they did, and they found them after making me crazy and jumping through hoops to get copies faxed to them. Then they told me that my visit was 75 dollars more than they had told me twice on the phone. The PA that did the fill was sweet, but not smart as I would have thought, I had to show her where the doctor recorded my band size and that there was no fill in there yet. She put in 1.2CC and pulled out the needle before I gulped the water without restriction. Well going slow is better than too much? She said to come back in a month, and the next fill will be better and have restriction. On the bright side, (I think that I felt restriction) when I had my butternut squash soup for dinner, I stopped eating as soon as I was aware of any feeling. I am what is called a flat lander, I live on the dessert/prarie and the lots are 35 plus acres, it is far from most things, it is an 8 mile road without a stop sign before getting to population. What I want you to know is that the sunset going on right now is so beautiful that a photo wouldn't do it justice. thanks again, you guys are a God sent to me. Barb
  16. I always coped with problems by visiting my old best friend FOOD. I am not doing that anymore, as a resutl I am feeling things that I don't want to. I am in my last day of bandster hell, I get my first fill this afternoon. Will this dumpy feeling go away? Do I need to see a shrink?
  17. a lady that got banded with me in June had her fill there last week, no problems, they put in 2.4cc in her, it is more than I have ever heard on a first fill. I am waiting to hear how she is doing. Her daughter-in-law has been using the center for ober a year. All the centers charge the same amount...350 first visit and 65 after that, some have fluro and some don't, to use fluro is an extra 100 bucks.
  18. I can't wait to go back east this fall and let all my friends and family see the chages in me too. Sounds like fun, no one knows about the band yet.
  19. You look so much younger and happier. I think that you have lost more weight than the adverage person will lose. I can see your curves in this oufit much more than in the beautiful dresses. I am so excited for you and with you. I go for my first fill today at 1:45 PM...can't wait to see if the fill takes me to a better place. thank you Michelle for all of your helpful sharing
  20. My hair falls out from the medications I get during surgery, it hapens every time and it is a delayed reaction, it takes anywhere from 3-6 months for it to happen, but it does. try biotin, zinc and iron...talk to your hair dresser. I take a hair/skin/nail vitamin from a mail order place "Puritains Pride" and have found my hair to grow faster than ever.
  21. Trina, all I can say is that whatever you decide to eat, it is going to taste like the best thing you ever tasted! I had very moist flounder for the first meal, I was afraid of anything too chewy. I was shaking with anticipation for it to be done, really shaking with my mouth watering like crazy. Now I can eat anything and it doesn't have the same taste as the first few meals, BTW, tomorrow is my big fill day!
  22. Paula, I have tried your flavored protien/coffee in the morning and have it to be delious. thanks for such a great idea, it beats the black coffee.
  23. Funny that I had a conversation with my husband last night. I told him that a neighbor I spent the afternoon with didn't notice that I am down 25 pounds. We have come to the conclusion that the more you weigh, the more you need to loose for it to show. When you are closer to your goal weight, 30 pounds will show up in a hugh way. I am very impressed with you for losing so much already, you are really doing a great job getting ready for surgery. I am going for my first fill tomorrow. Because of what I have read on this forum, I kept telling myself during "Bandster Hell" that the band doesn't start doing it's job until I get the right fill(s). Keep up the good work, I am proud of you and I don't even know you!
  24. I agree, low carb is the way to go, but not no carb. My Endoronologist told me that the best he has found and is still using is the South Beach diet plan, suzzane sommers also has lots to say in her books about low carb and staying away from the white stuf, she gets into all the reasons in her books. Her book Ageless is wonderful, it is all about menapaus and the use of correct hormones for weight loss. I bought her books for 75 cents each on a site called half.com I also bought Weight Loss Surgery with the Adjustable Gastric Band, I found it to be VERY good. the book Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery was a big disapointment to me, a waste of money. It is a cookbook that has recipes that are too much trouble for me. Any one want this book?
