  1. You'll thank yourself, hun, for ditching the soda. I hear the withdrawals can be pretty rough after your banded. Now is a good time. I've never really been a pop drinker but the pantry is always stocked with C.L. in every flavour and ice tea is always in the fridge.
  2. ROFLMAO!! HOWL! You crack me up! That's too funny to be healthy!
  3. Who needs sex when you have chocolate????? Oh right, we aren't allowed chocolate anymore. That will make for one very happy hubby if he quits stealing my freaking popcicles! hehe
  4. Small in numbers but we love our boys!
  5. Excellent site and free too! WOOT! Thanks for that!
  6. Thanks all for the excellent responses! I just feel really unclean on my stitch sites. Yup, Cathy, have showered like twice a day (morning and before bed) since I got home. Dr. O. does glue not gauze but it's cracking and looks dirty. I gently cleaned the surface of the glue because frankly I didn't know whether he stitched or glued me back up and I didn't want to take a chance just in case! (Talk about a busy head, eh? Oh well, better than daydreaming about food) There's no signs of stitching at all. It's angry on one side, red and raised but the other side is flat and looks like it's healing nicely. It's probably much adieu about nothing. Maybe I'll get some polysporin or something presuming the glue is permeable. Doctors around here are a nightmare. Our health care is in tatters thanks to our last premier. My family doctor -- ahem -- had an affair with a patient and continued to treat her husband and their children. Somehow he got caught and they suspended his medical licence. Funny thing was when I went for my appointment with him for HBP there was a sign on the door saying that he had decided to take a sabbatical for a year and spend time with his young family. Next day I read in the paper he got busted and shut down! Walk in clinics are a guaranteed (believe it or not) four to seven hour wait and service is horrible at best! The paramedics here are treating people in ambulances and on gurneys in the hallways of the hospitals because of staff and bed shortages. People are actually sleeping in emergency room hallways on gurneys for three, four days! Those that go into emergency and a triaged are in for a full 24 hour wait depending on their issues. Short of losing a limb we tend to avoid the entire system. I'll just keep an eye on it and have hubby take a boo now and again. Like I said, probably nothing but I did have to ask. The glue is really creeping me out. hehe.
  7. Okay, so I'm looking at my belly and my port site is getting red and angry looking. Yup, now it's getting sore but that may be far too many hours sitting at the computer putting pressure on it. Dunno. The glue is also looking "dirty" for lack of a better term, perhaps old and discoloured would be better. How soon can we get rid of it or can we even? Is it just a natural process? Frankly, the site looks unclean and it's bothering my obsessive compulsive side. I can't discern any stitching so I can't help but wonder if it's the glue that's keeping it together? Obsessive compulsive inquiring minds wanna know!
  8. Well, I'm a lousy cook -- hence the weight but I'm really trying to learn how in anticipation of the future. How about dinner at Smugglers on me? It's not home cooked roast beef but it is awesome! Next time I'm in the area I'll drop ya a warning! hehe.
  9. That was too funny! Thanks for sharing. I giggled my butt off --
  10. Good for you, Julie! Never take anything personally as I'm sure it's not intended. Some of us have to be "driven" (thanks Kitty for the word) to propel us forward and keep the momentum going after all we're "born again" bandsters, you know like those annoying people that quit smoking? hehe
  11. Damn, thanks for the reminder! I have to get one of those for sure!
  12. One of my staff was just telling me this afternoon about a lady she worked with at her last office that had a bypass, dropped a ton in nine months and promptly put it all back and more. I hear that more and more. She stopped by to pick up the rest of the Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, LA Diet, Atkins and on and on and on stuff that I had left over from my WAY TOO MANY ATTEMPTS at WL. I took them to the Food Bank and they refused them. LOL! Just think, soon you will be banded and the world (with a lot of behaviour modification) will be right again. Onward and upward m'dear! BTW
  13. Holy smokes, Cathy! You're in Kitchener? My sis is in Cambridge! Small world. I was just there a couple of months ago. Damn, missed the beef! hehe
  14. Oh total duh! Thanks for clarifying. Clearly the blonde dye has gone to my brain!
  15. I would suggest ugly hardly describes you! You are a stunningly beautiful woman! This trip is all about the comfort and nothing else imho.
  16. Am I misunderstanding, Kitty? They are telling you to drink with meals? I thought that was forbidden? I was actually wondering how one was supposed to eat porridge without it though.
  17. Good thinking! Or be a complete coward and have hubby make my excuses :lb12: They ABSOLUTELY know I love food!
  18. I overpacked for sure. I took four outfits and used two not including jammies (sports bras are a WONDERFUL thing), three books didn't read any of them, Gas X (didn't work), six magazines, (read them on the plane and left them in the lobby at the hotel) shampoo and conditioner, (ended up using the hotel's 'cause I didn't feel like getting my own -- lazy, huh!) blowdryer (ended up using hotel's) lotion (ended up using hotel's) two pair of shoes, (ended up using my slippers) and bought some Croc's at the Denver airport -- who knew they were THAT comfy?! Water (three bottles -- security confiscated it) and make up (never applied once). I could have made it on two comfy outfits, toothbrush, mouthwash, chapstick, facewash and moisturizer (don't like soap), one razor (not three), jammies, pair of crocs, gas reliever of some form, hairbrush, sports bras, and slippers for OCC. Long story short, imho you really only need the minimum, less to lug around.
  19. Am supposed to go to the in-laws on Sunday for a massive dinner of all freaking things! No one in either family (mine or his) knows about the surgery and I can't see me going there amongst 15 people with a TON of food on the table while I make excuses to drink broth. I just can't face it. I'm a coward but I just can't do it. I love my father-in-law to death but nu'uh. It's far too early in the process. Hubby is gonna be pissed!
  20. Fortunately, it hasn't stopped raining here for a week so I can't weed the garden or clean the pond like I should. That removes that guilt! I'm backlogged in my work so I'll be working all weekend but I won't feel deprived 'cause there's no sun!
  21. Hehe, I work out of my home office -- bathroom is just a few steps away thankfully!
