  1. I'm pretty sure its normal but I thought I'd ask anyway...no harm in that right? Banded on July 2nd, and my port site still has a lump feeling under the incision. I'm sure its still just swollen and the port itself too giving it that "lump" feeling...but I just thought I would ask you guys too! And guess what?!!!! I get to start my creamy soup phase tomorrow! YEA!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to try some of the reciepts I found on the forum. Thanks everyone. :D dianna
  2. Looking beautiful!! Keep fighting the good fight! Dianna
  3. You guys are the BEST!!!! I am so appreciative of all your posts and support!!!! THANK YOU! I am starting to feel better, tired, but better!
  4. Had surgery July 2nd, flew back home, had a lot of air turbulence then got motion sickness and now....my head feels like I am in a fog. I am on my clear liquid phase until Wednesday, then I can start my creamy soups. I look forward to my creamy soup stage. I do enjoy tomato soup a lot. My port site is still tender, swollen and sore, so bending over is not fun at this point. I thought I remembered Dr. Miranda saying that we could start the creamy stage on day 4 but no sooner. I'll have to look through my papers to make sure, I don't want to mess anything up. With my head feeling so weird I feel like I can not think right. I read some posts on burping....I WISH...I have a hard time burping...I wish I could burp maybe it would help me feel not so bloated (sorry TMI). Thanks for your help. Would like to know what receipts you all did to help get through the 3 weeks. Dianna

You dont' wasnt to be out alone. sorry i am falling asleep because of the medicaton they gave me. im me and i'll answer all your questions
  7. I recently found a lump where my port site is. It is rather large, semi-firm, and tender. The nurses say its normal, and wrapped me with with guaze and large 4x4's over the site to compress the area. Dr. So is very nice, attentive and sweet. Dr. Ortiz came in before my surgery sat down, spoke with myself and my husband. I was drugged so I can't remember if he signed my book or not. Got some hilarious pictures of staff laying in bed next to me. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got sick too, no surprise for me though, I have a tendancy to get what is called PONV (post-operative nausea and vomiting). They did a good job at helping me contol with -basically they shot me up with medication. well, I am supposed to be walking and I do need to go pee... sorry TMI.... Thanks guys, dianna
  8. Yeppers I am here in fast paced, crazy drivers everywhere, Tijuana, Mexico. My husband and I flew in earlier today from Washington. Only took us 2 hours...nice. First stop, OCC. Labs, EKG, Lung function test, and Dietary consult all completed. Then, off to the Lucerna. WOW....NICE!!!! Very pretty. My husband and I ventured out to Rev. Ave. NOW THAT IS AN INTERESTING EXPERIENCE...HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!!!! Bought a Gucci purse for $30 dollars, (they were asking 175.00) I love to bargin. Got some soccor jerseys for my little kiddos. I think they will love them. In the morning is the big day. My only fear is that....the band won't work for me....I know dumb thought huh? But...never-the-less it is still my deep dark fear. I plan to take lots of pictures. It has been fun meeting all new people too!!! I'll keep you posted. dianna
  9. Dawnie, I just love you!!! You crack me up. You and I together could really cause some trouble. I love that we have a similar sense of humor!!! I will see if I can chat Monday night at the OCC. I plan on taking lots of pictures and posting them somewhere after I figure how to do it. :D :D :D :D dianna
  10. Boy....I made that sound really dramatic didn't I? HEHEHEHE...I am leaving......to go GET MY BAND!!!!!!!!! YIKES......I leave after work tomorrow. So I am packing tonight. I am even taking an extra suitcase for all the things I buy and bring back from Revolution Ave. Hope I find lots of fun things. Surgery is July 2nd, then I am back home on July 4th. WOW....I just hope my 21 days on liquids goes by this fast, seems like my 2 week post-op diet flew by. Well....my fellow bandits, wish me a little luck! See you all on the other side. 13. Hi! Glad to have you on the forum...so now don't be a stranger! Your pts. that you send our way will enjoy our forum surely. There is a lot of experienced support within this cyber space. We also have weekly chats (on Monday's typically). Dianna
  14. Hey everyone! I thought I put this post out and see who all will be at the OCC on July 2nd, either getting banded (like myself yeah!!!) or a fill. Would love to hear from you! I will be at the OCC July 1st-4th. ~dianna~ :D
  15. Yea!!!!!!! :D I am counting down the days until July2nd!!! I fly into SD July 1st, and get me pre-op labs etc done, then July 2nd is the big day. I am excited, nervous, scared...but mostly excited. I can't wait to shed the weight. I feel like a catapillar getting ready to spin its cocoon. So I hope to meet as many of my OCC banders as possible and build friendships! Can't wait to see everyone there! :D :D Dianna
  16. I am down another pound! That makes 9 pounds now, only 3 to go before the 2nd of July! Its not easy, but with the help and support of all of you, it really makes a difference. So THANK YOU! I am now 233lbs, I continue to exercise daily (mon-fri) 30 minutes each day on the elipical. I have decided that I don't care what I wear to workout in, so sometimes its scrubs, jeans & t-shirt, or whatever I have on. I have decided that no matter what it is I am wearing it won't keep me from working out. I may get funny looks-on the elipical in a dress LOL- but the whole point is...I AM DOING IT, NO EXCUSES!
  17. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IF YOU NEED TO GET AWAY FROM FOOD, TAKE A WALK, GET OUT OF THE HOUSE. DO SOMETHING TO DISTRACT YOU. OR YOU COULD TAKE SOME BENADRYL AND MAKE YOUR SELF SLEEPY AND SLEEP TILL YOU CAN HAVE SOLIDS. LOL!!! JUST HANG IN THERE!!!! :D :D :D :D DIANNA
  18. oops, sugar free popsicles are for afterward....I just got carried away!
  19. Well, today I start my pre-op diet . Which includes the following: Shake for breakfast, one for lunch and then a South Beach dinner. All the salad I want, with using the wishbone spray, sugar free jello, and sugar free popsicles. YIKES...I started early on the whole dieting thing, so I am down 8 of the 12 pounds Dr. Miranda wants. I'm just going to need a lot of support during the next two weeks. I hate the fact that my diet will be so limited . But I will stick to it ( !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will just need help and encouragement...which you all are so good at. And any suggestions that might make this easier for me, I would love it! THANKS~ Dianna
  20. For a colonscopy, I really don't think it matters. We do these "colons" and "egd -where we scope your esophagus/stomach" where I work. So, for your colonoscopy I think your fine. ~dianna~
  21. So, if I can't bring those juices with me, can I pick them up in San Deigo when I get there? I just don't want to pay $4 a cup for juice. Any suggestions what to do then? thanks, dianna
  22. I love it!!!!!!! You are doing so great! Thanks for the picture. It makes me hope that one day soon, I'll be looking as good as you! ~dianna~
  23. I am starting my list of things to bring. I was reading C1bandedbabe's post and was wondering if I could bring in my luggage juice boxes, pain medication. Since 9/11, I am not sure if they allow fluids over some many ounces on planes. (C1bandedbabe: loved your question! I had them too, and loved all the responces that you got. This was very helpful to me! I am so excited for you. I love hearing your updates!) Thanks everyone!! Dianna
  24. YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D> =D> =D> Isn't that a wonderful feeling. Seeing that darn scale move in the "right" direction is a great feeling! Good job not giving up or giving in!!!! Keep up the good work. ~dianna~
