    Quotes

So, I am a geek when it comes to quotes and they really motivate me. So thought i'd start a thread where we could share our favorites. Here are a couple of mine - add some so we can all share and be inspired. "If you always do what you always did...you will always get what you always got". Unknown (heard it from my WW leader back in the day) Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do. John Wooden "It ain't braggin' if it's true" - Willie Mays "A person is a success if they get up in the morning and gets to bed at night and in between does what he wants to do." - Bob Dylan
  2. B: Granola Bar L: Grilled chicken salad, 1 cookie S: One snack sized kit kat - was a stressful day! D: Michealina's pizza snacks then two glasses of wine Calories so far: 1,100 Exercise: On my feet worked 12 hours and had to walk people to a variety of places all day so i'm sure I burned some real calories!
  3. Been terrible about posting my food journal so i'm committed to getting back on track!! B: Breakfast burrito and hash browns L: One hard boiled egg (no yolk), cottage cheese, and chips and bean dip D: Fiber One cereal (dry) Calories so far: 900
  4. When I was at 3.2 in a 4 cc band I was perfect until my brother was in a car accident. Long story short I lived at the hospital for the most part for almost 3 weeks and I was so stressed I was getting sick on everything. Had an unfill and am now back to 3.0 and feeling pretty good. Tempted to get just a slight tweek to get back to 3.2 but just don't have the money right now. Not sure if I should b/c some days I can eat anything in sight and some days i'm perfect or almost too tight. So for now i'm staying where I am. Haven't been making the best food choices so before i'll let myself get a fill i'm gonna work on eating better and working out first.
  5. After surgery I looked about 7 mos pregnant and did not go for quite some time. Keep those liquids coming and I agree on the MOM that can help too. Totally normal!
  6. I went through the same thing it was a struggle that first week to do liquids I just wasn't feeling it. But I made myself do it - keep sipping even though you don't want to. Trust it will change and your hunger will come back! I also had the fuzzy head lethargic stuff too and just know it will go away. Good luck and congrats on your decision!!!
  7. I understand his concern about you getting sick a lot, but for him to want you to get rid of the band all together is just not right. He should want the best for you and want you to be healthy and happy. You do need to work to find your right restriction, but but he shouldn't not be supportive of the band and your health. You need to find someone that is supportive of your weight loss journey and don't settle for anything less you deserve it!
  8. B: Breakfast burrito and hash browns L: 2 hard boiled eggs (no yolk), cottage cheese, and carrots dipped in salsa and bean dip D: Fiber One cereal and almonds Calories so far: 900
  9. I take the Centrum chewable multi vitamin as well as viactive calcium chews and that is about it. When I get put on meds I always ask how big the pill is, but as of yet I haven't had any trouble getting them down.
  10. Congrats it will be here before you know it! It is a piece of cake no worries you will do great. Let us know how it goes! Hope the pre op diet goes well for you!
  11. Great job!!!! I did that for a while but really need to get back on track with it. Luckily I really like water so i'm OK there, but I need to start eating much cleaner. I made a batch of buffalo chicken dip the other night and have been eating too much of that I need to just not have it in the house! Ugh! Keep up the great work!!
  12. B: Oatmeal (only about half the packet just wasn't going down today) L: Pot luck at work but tried to be good! Ham dipped in light miracle whip, chips and salsa, carrots, and a couple of bites of this snickers dessert thing...ugh was so yummie just had a couple bites then tossed. D: Mini Raviolis S: Chips and dip Calories so far: 1,000
  13. B: Breakfast burrito (mostly just ate the tortilia) and hash browns L: Two hardboiled eggs (no yolk), carrots dipped in salsa and bean dip, and cottage cheese S: Tofutti ice cream sandwich D: TBA Calories so far: 725
  14. Thanks you all! Michele, I agree on the salts and just after workouts allowing your body to heal a bit. I am also a big fan of icy hot patches I use a lot of those. As you continue to work out your body will adjust and get used to it. Another thing you can do is up your potassium intake. Potassium helps those muscles heal and will keep them in check. Good job on getting out there and getting active! I had to wait a bit to start exercising as I was just too heavy, but as you lose the weight you will see it gets much easier. I started w/ just walking then moved on to Zumba and then running. So it was quite a process to get up to where I am now. I used to say the only way I would run is if someone was chasing me with a knife so give it time you will get there!
  15. Found my pic and it is from 6 mos out so that will give you a good idea. My scars are even more faded now and really you can only barely see the large one. But again it is so person to person on how you scar but this gives you an idea on my experience.
  16. Did my next race today...not too bad considering I have been sick for almost 2 weeks and am still not 100%. I ran it for Alzheimer's Association which was really cool as I lost my grandad to that and my step-grandma is now fighting it. Raised almost $1,200 for our team and even though it was hilly finished the 5k in less than 40 minutes. My next run is in July i'm excited gives me something to work towards. I'll try to post a couple pics.
  17. That is fantastic!!! Savor those victories they are HUGE!!!! Keep up the great work!!! Shelby
  18. I also got an extra batch of what the OCC gave me and it helped for the long plane ride home which was nice. After that I did some liquid meds which tasted like hell, but did the trick! In terms of the ticker go to http://www.tickerfactory.com and there is a weight loss ticker. They give you several options to cut and paste, but use the one that has "IMG" in the code. Welcome and good luck!!!

  20. Hope it all went well i'm sure it did. I know I was nervous for my first fill, but it was a piece of cake! Good luck!
  21. I loooove the V8 Fusion drinks and do them a lot for breakfast. I'm not super tight in the AM, but for as long as I can remember the thought of food for the first couple hours i'm awake just makes me sick. So those I do fine with. I'll also do a protein shake from time to time, but I usually stick w/ the V8.
  22. Lost .8 this week and since i've been sick I will totally take that! Can't wait to finally get well (it's been almost 2 weeks) so I can get back to working out. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

B: Sausage, eggs, and hash browns L: Two hardboiled eggs (no yolk), cottage cheese, and 1/2 of a small green apple D: Parents showed up and took us to dinner but it did not go well. Got steak and mushrooms and most of it came back up. So back to water. Calories so far: 800 *Lots of hydrating gonna be a hot race tomorrow! Only doing the 5k but i've been sick and not training.
  24. Thanks!!! It's been a rough day one of my best friends is having a baby today and I can't go b/c I have to work tomorrow (she lives 3.5 hrs away) and so i'm in a mood b/c of that and some other stuff.
