Today was a good day! Held my head high and we just happened to have a luncheon and I could see them watching me fix my plate. Just to "mix things up a little" I put a nice piece of cake on my plate and knocked it around a little bit...of course only taking a couple of tiny bites. I even bragged about how great it was. Then when nobody was looking I threw the whole plate away. Now I'm sure I've got them confused....LOL

See, now, I wish I had quick wit. I would have so use the "on track to be skinnier than you by Christmas..."...LOL!!! Thanks you guys for your support. I'm not so upset anymore, just annoyed now.

I don't ever mind if anyone ask what kind of diet am I on, but not what kind of drugs am I on? And the first girl didn't mean prescription drugs. ...she said, "what are you on?" I am always very honest about the fact that I've had surgery any time anyone asks..... Oh, well, I won't sweat it.

Be careful with the bean burrito. Flour Torrtilla's get stuck so bad for me. I used eggs and cripsy toast for my first meal. But everyone is different for sure. You will have to experiment. Ground meat also worked very well for me in the beginning as well as after a fill. I can't hardly eat chicken breast at all.

You are very right!! But easier said than done. I have a brother with an addiction who has gone to work "on something" recently and got fired and went into rehab. So I guess it hit a tender spot with me evenmore. Oh, well, I am calling it a week and going HOME to my DH!

So this girls comes up to me at work and says, "wow...your pupils are so dilated and you've lost so much weight, what are you on?" OMG. First of all, my eyes are normal, I had just come in from the sun and have very blue eyes. Second of all...well, I can't even find words right now. UGGGHH.. So then just a few minutes later I run into another person, who says, "so what diet are you on? Are you having to take anything to lose weight?" So I am guessing these two people, who work in the same dept, must have been talking about me earlier and then both decided to be sly and say something to try and figure out what I'm "ON" to lose weight. Funny thing is that it is no secret that I had lapband surgery...although it's really none of their business and I haven't worked directly with them in the past, so they probably wouldn't know. So basically they just accused me of "being on something" at work. Really??? Who says crap like that to people???

lol...I didn't notice either.

You might try your credit union if you have one related to your work. They are sometimes more lenient especially if they can take the payment right out of your check. Good luck!!!

Hi! I am sorry that you are going through this? I am curious which med it is that is making you crave sugar. Maybe there is another drug for your condition, that could do the same thing without this side effect. Those drug induced sugar cravings are sometimes unmanageable. Have you discussed other med options with your doctor? Don't be so hard on yourself. I would be willing to bet that if anyone, bandster or not, ate a bag of tootsie rolls they would be distended and in pain. The milk of magnesia should really help. Read the back of the bottle, but I am pretty sure you can repeat the dose if you don't get results. As far as the streching/damaging the band. Though possible, is doubtful unless you are stretching is on a consisent basis. I have read that if the pouch stretches then an unfill can be done to allow it all to heal. My main advice is to try and change that med that is causing the cravings. I hope that you feel better. Cindy

The only way I keep from going insane is that I count NOTHING. Granted, I haven't lost weight as fast as I wish, but I am on the downswing consistently. The reason I got my band is so that I could quit dieting and counting and tracking. So my advice (and this is only what works for me) is make good choices as much as you can and enjoy life. If you start feeling bad or not gaining weight or losing unwanted weight, or losing your hair, etc...then scrutinize your diet. Otherwise, enjoy life!!!

I'm at the airport traveling back from my 20th high school reunion. Good news is I looked great. Bad news is I think I broke every bandster rule ever written. I may have even broken a few that arent written! Ughhh..now I have heart buirn that won't go away. I think its time for a three day liquid diet to let everything calm down. I didnt plan appropriately which led to huirried meals of bad (but oh so good) foods.

Is there such a thing as TMI when talking about the band? It's not like we got a blow by blow of a sexual encounter or something. Thank you Stormy for sharing your experience. It's real life.

I hope everything is ok with them. I know how you feel, as my family was all back in Louisiana during hurricane Katrina and it was very hard waiting to hear from everyone, but praise Jesus they were all ok.

I'm sort of in a panic...

Be sure you are eating regularly before you begin taking it. Did your ob/gyn know you were having lapband surgery when he prescribed it? -
screwed up now I'm worried

I am sure you are just fine I drink with many of my meals (I know, bad bad bad). I only drink small amounts, but if I drink too much I get shoulder pain and pain around my port. I really think that drinking will do two things. 1. Allow the food to pass through quicker or 2. come back up. Drinking probably isn't going to stretch your pouch, the pressure would push it back up first. Plus it would take many times of doing it to stretch it. Stretching it requires real abuse. My pouch was fine two weeks ago under the barium swallow. It's great that you are so careful. That's probably why you have lost WAY more weight than me. -
Difference in Clinics?

I don't think I've ever seen anyone on here that went to Cancun? And is it against the rules to post prices?? never thought about it I guess. -
I am a nurse but I am a Director, so not at the bedside. If you are doing 12 hrs at the bedside, I would say a week at the MINIMUM!! I was fine for 8 hrs in my office and meetings after 4 days, but I really could have taken a week off. I had really bad gas and could not have made it at work.

IMO you should not start a medication that will lower you blood sugar prior to a surgery that will decrease your food intake. Of course, your doctor has the final say, but I would not think it would be safe. Make sure your ob/gyn knows about your surgery and that Dr. Ortiz knows about the Metformin. Congrats on your upcoming surgery. -
I am now so happy with my band. I eat what I want, when I want, just not as much as I want.....lol. My weight it coming off slow...but I have lost 41 lbs. I think it's awesome to heat a handful of Funyuns and know I am still going to lose weight!!! If I could just get rid of this annoying shoulder pain, I would be a happy camper. I did follow the 21 days except I ate a lot of baby cereal and baby food.

Sabrina, thanks for the support!! And I know you can do it with the cigs!! and congrats on Hawaii...I'm jealous!!!!!

I have never really stopped drinking with meals. Granted it's only like half of a glass of whatever...tea, water, soda (I know....bad) That's probably why my weight loss hasn't been rapid. I only take small sips....or it come back up. But anyway, I feel better now that I confessed....lol. Anyone else still drink with meals?
