  1. Is it first come - first serve..lol. I am getting picked up at the border at 8 am, and was hoping to not have to wait all day to get banded.
  2. Is there anyone here who has a higher BMI, that didn't lose any weight or very little, but were still able to have the surgery. I am hoping since I am very healthy (outside of just being overweight) that that will help me incase I don't lose.
  3. Mine looks terrible too. I have stretchmarks from having my daughter, and I had a c-section, so I have that flap of fat..lol. Which I know will still be there even after I lose weight. I want to have a tummy tuck, but I want more children, so why bother right now.
  4. I will be arriving between 7:00 and 8:00 am on the 8th. They are picking me up at the border at 8:00 am...I am so excited. I can't believe it's almost here. I am stressing out about the pre-op diet as well.
  5. Ok awesome. I have been walking, but wasn't sure about working out at the gym. Like I said I need all the help I can get to get that scale moving in the right direction. I will start the gym tomorrow. Thanks
  6. I am not sure how many calories we are required to have on this pre-op diet, but today, I am only having like 700...no wonder I am freakin hungry...that's nothing!!
  7. You know when you work out, and you gain muscle or retain water from your muscles healing, well..that would obviously make the scale go up, and that is something I don't need to do right now. So would it be better not to work out at the gym, and maybe just go walking instead. I need all the help I can get with the scale..lol.
  8. Ok so I have done pretty good today, and feel alot better. I had a myoplex shake for breakfast at 8 am, then some celery sticks at 10 am with my metamucil capsule. Then I had a slim fast shake for lunch at about 12:30. I just had some more celery sticks, and I have been drinking my water. I usually eat dinner around 5 or 6, but I can't wait, so I am going to eat at 4..lol. I found a yummy lean cuisine, chicken with broccoli and carrots in an herb sauce...I don't normally like lean cuisines, but this one looks yummy!! Oh, and I also going to renew my gym membership at 24 hr Fitness, in a little bit..YAY!
  9. I am so worried about this, too. I just hope that I didn't gain any weight between the time I emailed Dr. Miranda, and now, because of Christmas. I am too afraid to step on the scale to find out.
  10. So what about frozen yogurt..as like a treat..is that ok after the initial clear liquids stage?
  11. I am using the myoplex shake in the morning and a SlimFast for lunch. I know SlimFast isn't as good, but I had already bought some, and want to use them up. I think I am going to wait and drink my first shake on my first break at 8:00 am, that way it's like a real breakfast, take a metamucil pill at 10 to get me through to my last break at 1:00, where I will have my shake for lunch. That schedule makes more sense, and then I am hoping I won't be so hungry. I am also going to bring some celery sticks to crunch on, so if I feel I need to chew something, atleast, I will have those. I just felt so down today, because I am getting down to the wire, and don't want to go down there and them tell me I can't have the surgery. Hopefully, tomorrow will be better. Thanks for the suggestions
  12. Seriously!! I had my protein drink at 5:30 am, and then by 7:30 am, my stomach was growling so much, I thought there was something alive in there..lol. So then at my lunch time at 10:30 am, I tried all I could to not go get a burrito at Farmer Boys, but guess what I did..ugh!! I feel like a total screwup. This pre-op diet is seriously stressing me out. I don't know what to do. I am so scared I won't lose the required weight. It's depressing! I did have the metamucil pills, but I think after the initial stomach hunger, I got the head hunger, and my cravings took over. Plus, all I want to do is eat anyway, because that "time of the month" will be here next week. My work schedule doesn't help either, because I have to wake up so early, and then take lunch at 10:30, which is what I consider breakfast..ugh..I just need to lock myself in a room for the next 10 days.
  13. Yeah, I will take it easy on the Power Aide...I just thought for a little change, I might have a little. I also bought Crystal Lite packets, as well as lemon flavored water. Thanks
  14. I am going shopping this week, and I have a few questions. Are bouillon cubes ok to take to TJ, or are they gross and too salty? I know someone on here mentioned pre packaged broth powder they saw in Walmart in the Mexican food section, but I couldn't find it. Also, I bought a whole thing of Power Aide, is that ok to drink during the 21 days (even the first 7 days) because it's not really clear liquid, it's the fruit punch one? What about hot chocolate, is that ok to drink after the first 7 days of clear liquids? And Fudgsicles are ok as well, since technically, if it were to melt it would be drinkable..lol
  15. Awesome!! My mom was so worried, she was going to bring pb&j sandwiches, snacks, muffin and juice for breakfast..lol. So now I can tell her we don't need to bring all that lol
  16. So obviously this question isn't for me, since I will be arriving the day of my surgery and not eating food, however, my mom is going with me, and is afraid of eating food in TJ. We are most likely not leaving the hotel, except for going to the clinic, so what kind of food is available in the restaurant in the hotel? Do they have american food (my mom can't do spicy mexican food)? Also, I think I remember reading there is a Dominos Pizza across the street..do they deliver to the hotel, and how is the pizza? Ok thanks everyone
  17. I am down to 2 weeks till my band date, and I am just trying to get everything in order. I went to the borderparking webpage provided by occ, but it doesn't give the cost. Anyone know? Also for those that have parked their car there and had to meet the occ driver, how does that work? I already emailed the occ to let them know I am driving in, and I did ask them these questions as well, but I am assuming that everyone is off today due to the holidays. I plan on leaving my house at 5:30 am and it should take about 2 hrs to get there, so I wasn't sure if we are going to have to wait a certain amount of time to be picked up, and also where do we meet the driver.
  18. I feel your pain! I am going to be honest, my plan was to start the pre-op diet 3 weeks ago, then 2 weeks ago, then 1 week ago. My surgery date is Jan 8th, and here I am still talking about starting. The problem I am having is, I do not like protein drinks, and so to have struggle with drinking 1 for breakfast and then 1 for lunch, and then knowing I can't even look forward to a yummy dinner, is really messing with me. I know once I start I will be able to lose the 15 lbs Dr. Miranda told me to lose, it's just trying to get started is killing me. The post op diet is looking like a breeze compared to this misery..lol
  19. Awesome!! My mom is going with me. We are going to leave around 5 am and drive in the morning of my surgery. I am so excited!! Hopefully I get to meet some of you ladies
  20. I am the same way. I am addicted to diet pepsi. I am trying not to think about life without it :lol However, being healthy and getting my life back is WAYYYY more important then that diet pepsi. My cousin who was banded a year and half ago took a sip of a diet coke and immediately had to vomit..*yikes*
  21. Awesome, thanks everyone. I am going to make my payment by paypal on Monday, 2 weeks would be Christmas Day, so because of the holidays I will send it a little early.
  22. Hey everyone, I was just wondering how do you make payment to the OCC? I sent my deposit by paypal, but do we send the rest of the money that way as well? Also, how soon before your band date do you send it? Thanks.
  23. Thank you so much. Now, I am not dreading this pre-op diet so much :lol
  24. I read an article the other day about how the gangs are killing random innocent people in places like shopping malls, restaurants and bars, and for the first time, I questioned whether I was making the right decision in going down there. I live in Southern Cali, and so I know violence exists everywhere, but they are treating these killings like terrorist attacks, and makes me wonder if these people are targeting certain people like American's to get their point across to the government. It has me a little nervous. I don't dare tell my mother, who is going with me, or she would freak and say she's not going.
  25. I was wondering about this myself. I could easily have a smoothie for a meal instead of a protein shake, and be so happy (this is for the pre-op diet). What about if I made my own?
