  1. It changes for me everyday. I can never really eat breakfast, so I drink a protein drink or just some chocolate milk. lunch and dinner, I eat about a cup of food total probably. Sometimes less and sometimes more. Tonight for dinner, I had 1/2 a chicken breast and about 2-3oz of mashed potatoes and I couldnt eat anymore. However, I am NEVER hungry. I eat because I know its time to eat or i start getting tired but my stomach never tells me its time to eat. I think its cause i drink water all day long.
  2. You look great! You've done a great job! Thanks for sharing the pics
  3. hey Now that I have had my second fill, my eating has changed alot. Breakfast: Protein shake or small chocolate milk Lunch: usually a small frozen meal and no i do not finish it dinner: usually some type of chicken breast and 1 veggie. Snack: I have the 100 calorie snacks and sometimes have one after dinner but not always. I drink 150-200oz of water a day. nothing else other than milk. The hardest thing for me is to eat slowly, especially if I am really hungry before I begin eating so I try not to wait until I get to that point because I know I am going to eat too fast and have the pain in my chest. Its been a stressful week a work and thats happened a couple of times. Good luck to you!
  4. Great post! I am one of the ones who is losing slower so its good to know it will eventually come off. I finally got a great fill and the scale is moving. Again, thanks for your great inspiring post
  5. Good job, your pics look great! i have been super tight this week after my fill too b/c of my period. Its already getting looser. Good luck
  6. I have had my 2nd fill now (about a week ago) and this started after my first fill. The only food I have problems with are potatoes! It hurts to eat french fries, mashed potatoes or potato chips. no matter how much I chew them. I can still eat bread with 3cc in my 4cc band, which shocks me, but i cannot eat the other items i listed above. Anyone else have problems with this food? I have never heard anyone else say that, usually just the bread and rice, etc... I know, I am not supposed to be eating fries, etc but i was picking off of my bfs plate and couldn't get it down without pressure in my chest. Just curious. Christy
  7. Good luck with your 2nd fill! I had mine done on a little over a week ago, then started my period 3 days later and boy have i been tightt this past week. Its starting to loosen some as the week goes by! I have 3cc in my band now
  8. Thanks I will look into the strips. My smaller ones are very smooth and soft, and the larger one varies by day. Sometimes it feels smooth, other times it doesnt. its weird. Where do you get the strips?
  9. Hey, I have been using mederma since surgery and honestly I cannot tell much difference. The tube says to use it 3-4 times a day and I honestly don't use it that much, usually just in the morning and at night, but I havent seen that much difference. Ive been doing this since I healed up after surgery. its been about 2 months. just wondering if anyone else had any luck with this product?
  10. If you look around the website (fill centers) you will see that Dr. Ortiz is a founding member of Fill Centers USA. Thats why the OCC reccomends them on their website. I am getting all of my adjustments at the GA location and I love it so far. I pay the fee for the Xray and everything has went great. The first visit is the most expensive, after that it gets cheaper.
  11. That is exactly what i did. My surgery was friday, I got there Thurs night, and I flew home Saturday morning. I had Monday off work and expected that I would probably call in sick Tuesday but I was fine to go back to work Tuesday, although I took it very easy and only worked about 6-7 hours before going home. As long as you rest and stay hydrated you should be fine. If you let yourself get dehydrated you will start to feel like crap. Good luck!!!
  12. i was banded Jan 8, 09 and was told 3 weeks to exercise and at that point i could do crunches as well. She marked out the 'no ab work" and said that had changed because it wont hurt anything like they once thought. I've been doing abs since about 4 weeks post op as well as working out hard with my trainer including running, etc I was perfectly fine during my first fill. My fill dr encouraged exercise. PS. Dr Miranda encouraged 'hard core" exercise as well after 3 weeks. she siad thats what she considered 'real' exercise, not just some walking around. If you feel good, go for it. It will just make you feel even better.
  13. Oddly, if I exercise in the mornings, by the time i get home and shower, i can usually eat solids for breakfast but if I dont exercise, I cannot eat solids until lunch at least.... weird
  14. Wow what a great job! Congrats on all of your hard work
  15. Wow you have done a wonderful job! Its amazing! you look wonderful I hope the healing goes well with your surgery!!!
  16. My post wasn't referring to you at all Lisa, it was referring to Lindsay for being so judgemental for people who are discussing a topic. its uncalled for. Thanks, Christy
  17. LOL........ LOL......... I wish I could find ONE trainer at my gym that did not take supplements, INCLUDING those that HELP burn fat.... Of course they do not do all of the work for you but they do HELP - -- Why do you think allllllllll these people spend SOOOOO much in GNC and Vitamin shoppe? becuase we cant get everything we need from our foods. You can get alot of HEALTHY and safe fatburners (or whatever you want to call them, thermogenics). Its everyones responsibility to research everything they do with their bodies, including the band. I would love to be able to post without everyone jumping down everyone elses throat or being so judgemental. its so silly.
  18. Congrats on the pregnancy, and from what i hear, lots of women have gotten pregnant with the band - i dont have kids yet and I hope - in a few years - i am one of those women! just think of how quickly you will lose the baby weight!
  19. I was able to feel mine a couple of weeks past surgery. It feels close to the skin too but my fill dr said everything looked perfect so Im not worried
  20. I was banded in Jan and my paperwork said no ab work for 3 months but Dr. Miranda scratched it out and said it had changed, she wrote 3 weeks after it and told me I was good for anything I felt up to. I told her I loved kickboxing and usually did pretty hard exercise and she said that was great, as long as there was no pain (there would be tenderness) that i was fine 3 weeks post op for anything. Good luck! Ive wanted to try pilates but im not very flexible lol
  21. Thanks! Sunday I could barely get through a few bites without feeling like evrything was getting stuck and today it is totally the opposite. I guess its trial and error for everyone. Thanks again, its always comforting to know im not the only one going through this stuff
  22. Hey, I know this is gross (for the guys) but .... Does restriction get worse or totally go away with your period? Mine should be here in a couple of days and today I felt like I could not get full! Just like pre-band days, eating a ton a few days before... Ive had my first fill and I have pretty good restriction and it normally doesn't take much to get me full. But I was craving sweets today and salty stuff and I wasnt getting full. I was kinda hoping I would be super tight during this time so I wouldnt indulge in the PMS snacks lol Is this what I should expect? (eating like I did pre-band)??
