  1. Hey, Same thing happened to me yesterday. They totally unfilled me and told me to wait 6 weeks to get refilled. I had a slight prolapse in the top. It was hard to see so he drew me a picture, literally! I am scared too. Plus, being totally unfilled, I have been starving all day.
  2. I am so excited to finally be 198 LBS!!!!!! I just had to share my excitement... I was stuck at 203 for weeks. I hope I have broken my plateau!
  3. Jhawkchick.... Thanks! Good to know its happened to someone else... i can only imagine how painful it was... i just worry about it hurting the band but I guess all of us are going to get sick at some point and it must be ok... You are doing great, btw!!! Lindsay, Wellbutrin, 150mg 2x a dayy. my night dosage went fine since i took it with food. Hopefully that was all it was!
  4. Good job... mine has slowed too.. .I need a another fill just waiting to get the money. Congrats on the 50!
  5. Hey everyone, its been a while since ive been around but this morning I had a scary incident. My DR started me on a new anxiety med and I started it this morning. I took one pill before I went to the gym as soon as I got up. I worked out for an hour, drank 24oz of water while I was at the gym and felt fine. I came home, jumped in the shower, and right as I was about to get out of the shower, I had that mouth watering, stomach rolling, naseated feeling you feel before you throw up.. like when you have the flu or something. Well, of course I hadn't eaten so there wasn't anything to throw up... so i was dry heaving and a little water came up but that was it...but it was an awful feeling... again, i've PB'd alot and this was not it... it was not a chest hurt it was a my stomach is rolling kind of thing.... It got me thinking... if we do get the flu or have some reaction (my medicine bottle said to take with food to preven stomach upset which I did not do... stupid me) and we are for real throwing up.... how is the food supposed to come back up through our band if it has already passed through? Has anyone had that happened? Just thinking about it and what I went through this morning makes me think it willl hurt a ton and be really hard to do.... Please let me know... Im scared now that flu season is coming around. thanks for the help...
  6. wow! just 20 pounds to go, thats great!! you have done a wonderful job... you will get those 20 pounds off quick
  7. If you belong to a gym, if you ask any of the people that work there (trainers) they will usually show you how to use some of the machines if you don't know how or what to do with the free weights.
  8. Thanks everyone, its nice to hear the encouraging words!
  9. Well, I was banded Jan 8, 09. Today makes 6 months. I just got off the scale - I am happy and disappointed at the same time. On my surgery date I weighed 236.5 and today I weigh 210. I know thats not bad and I know I wouldnt have lost 26.5 pounds in 6 months if I hadn't been banded so I am happy for that... the only thing that disappoints me is that I am one of the people who exercise like crazy... I go to the gym 5-6x a week. My body just holds on to weight so hard. I lost weight a few years ago and got down to 210 but couldnt stay there, and 215 was my comfy weight where i stayed for a year (size 14/16). So its like my body wants to fight me to get past this point because ive been in the 215-210 range for a few weeks now. So... for now I am happy with everything... My fill is good, I cannot even finish a whole kids meal or most frozen meals so I think I am good with that for a few more weeks atleast. If the scale doesn't start moving quicker I may get another small one. My last fill was only .2cc. I guess I should be pleased, it comes out to about 1 pound per week since being banded and Im told thats average... or to expect to lost about 60 pounds the first year which I am on target to do. Its just a much slower process than I anticipated but atleast I haven't gained any weight!!!! I will try to find pictures to post soon. I have one taken in mexico and my sister got married last week so I have some of me then. I can tell alot in my face and in my legs but the stomach, where i want to lose the most, is being stubborn!!!! lol Anyways just wanted to update everyone on me... I am working so much now I dont get to come on here alot anymore. Thanks! The day after surgery with my dad and sister: before the reheasal dinner for my sisters wedding on june 25:
  10. I was banded the day before you. I have had 3 fills, I am up to 3.0 cc in my 4cc band. I think you are probably fine but I would have it checked out under xray. All of my fills have been done that way, its expensive but peace of mind is worth it! I am sure you are fine... Good luck and let us know what they tell you
  11. I dont take tiny little sips. I drink as I always did, which is pretty fast. However I eat slowly and take smaller bites but they arent so small i cant even taste the food.
  12. I could drink liquid with a bite of food if I "had" to up until my 2nd fill. I tried it once after that and I thought my chest was going to explode. The tighter you get, you can't do that anymore. If I had something that sticks, I just go burp it up - its usually still in the top of my chest and has never went down to my stomach so its no issue at all to just burp and it comes up easily. I have found that its certain foods that do this to me too, specifically potatoes of any kind! chips, fries, even mashed if it doesnt have gravy on it. Weird but I dont need to eat them anyway so now I just dont. good luck!
  13. I keep a food and exercise journal. Helps me a ton!
  14. Hey, I am sorry you had to get unfilled. I was reading in a magazine the other day about how most women overeat WAY too much when pregnant, that you should only be eating an extra 300 calories a day for the baby, not really "eating for two" like most think and a normal weight woman should gain 25 pounds, an underweight woman should gain about 25-30 and an overweight woman should only gain about 15 pounds so BE CAREFUL about indulging too much!!!! It will make it that much harder to get the weight back off once you have the baby. I am sure you will do just fine, you have been diciplined with your band on how to eat and you dont want to risk the baby's health by not keeping food down, so the unfill was probably best. You will be fine!!!!
  15. she looks amazing!!! So pretty! I bet she had so much fun!
  16. Thanks everyone! I usually eat for about 20 mins and then I know I will start to PB if I keep eating and I just stop, the mornings are harder because alot of times solid food is tough to get down anyway. Just wanted to make sure I was doing what everyone else was doing! lol
  17. You look great and really happy! Congrats on all of your hard work
  18. Hi I have a question I've been wondering about. This morning, I made myself and eggwhite with lowfat cheese sandwich on a whole wheat english muffin. in 15 minutes I had managed to eat half of it and I was feeling full (and tired of eating sooo slow)... however, if I had sat there 30-40 minutes, I could have gotten all of it down. Should we be trying to eat most of our meal so that our calories aren't too low and we get our nutrients or do you stop immediately when you feel full? I stopped this morning, but sometimes I sit at the table and try to wait for food to go down and eat a bit more. I know it sounds silly and people will think STOP WHEN YOUR FULL, but sometimes i get the full feeling after two bites. Thats why I am asking. Im afraid if I stop too soon I will be hungry again quickly and end up eating more throughout the day. Thanks for the help!
  19. I wondered about this too. I got sick to my stomach about a month ago, but it had been hours since i had eaten so the food had already went through the band and I had the feelings of needing to throw up but when I tried, nothing came up but spit and it was painful... then i started thinking, can food come back up through the band without damaging it? I have no idea
  20. I drink water everynight before bed (i take it with me to bed and drink it right before I lay down). Is this going to cause my band to slip? My fill doc says my band looks perfect and she personally knows Dr. Ortiz and said he does great with securing the bands... I don't have any issues drinking before bed and never have it come back up, etc should i stop doing this? Its been a habit for the last 10 years and I dont sleep well (weird I know) if I dont have water before bed
  21. I am the exact same way! I carry my weight all over and I am 5'9" and people don't think I weigh as much as I do - but the scale is the same for me, I go back and forth for a week losing and gaining the same few pounds before I finally stick at that weight. Its so frustrating! lol Good luck on getting into onderland! it wont be too much longer
