I just wanted to add - since my surgery I am freezing ALL the time - Im always carrying extra sweaters etc now and I sit on the couch with a heated blanket and before I go to bed heat it up with my heating pad... its the only thing I miss about being fat is the extra padding that kept me warm - but Id rather be freezing all the time than how I was before. I too have a hot shower every night - brrrrrrrrrrrr

I had my first fill at the occ on the 7th - last saturday I got 2 cc in my 4 cc band.,...I have MAJOR restriction - WOW. But everyone is different of course. I now cant eat bread, noodles, brocolli - oh who am I fooling, I cant eat much of anything right now - Im on liquids due to a major pb session from some chinese noodles. But its also TOM and I have a really really bad cold - so I am looking forward to next week when I am a normal person again to see if I can eat a little better as well. Let us know how it goes for you!

Laura - this is totally not going to be what you want to hear....but everyone is different and one person could have no gas pains (me this surgery but others I have actually made myself hyperventalate and pass out it was so bad)....to others who have the pain for weeks - or even a month or more. Just walk as much as you can as it really truely helps (as I discovered from that horrible experince)

I am hoping my liquids help me - I honestly think its cuz I irritated in when the first day I was on solids I ate noodles and had a horrible pb session for an hour and a half. So - going to take it easy and see if that helps.

keep me posted on the hotel! How is the food? Is it near the occ or the lucerna?

Congratulations!!! Hope it all goes perfectly for you! I have to say - that one of the girls who had her surgery the same day as I did exchanged emails - and now I consider her one of my closest friends...it is great to have someone who knows what you are going through! We email a few times a day and (she lives in TJ) I go visit her when I go to TJ and will continue to do so even later

thanks guys. If I have to see that one front desk guy at the lucerna again though I just might strangle him so I may try the mariott.

Let me know how the Mariott is. My two trips down I was fine at the Lucerna except this last time one of the guys at the front desk was a Jerk and wouldnt even let our friends up to our room to pick us up and was a real @ss yup - we explained and everything- it was just that one guy, then we kept seeing him and he would give us the eye lol...but really it made us very uncomfortable - we didnt even want to go down to the restaraunt

Apparantely I was asking if I could take some of the drugs home they gave me cuz they were so good lol - very out of character for me...but hey if I dont remember a thing they were good

aw - Id book mine for that weekend but I cant - I have to work around when I have my kidlets and they have a thingy with their swimming that weekend

Congratulations! I had a reductions years and years ago - and noticed mine are getting smaller eck! But Im still a D thank goodness - hopefully they wont get smaller or Ill be getting a boob job next year!

Just wondering if any of you tried the Mariott? I dont want to use the lucerna next trip

Thanks guys...tips - not really - I really just followed the doctors directions....exercised - danced A LOT (great exercise) and well one week I was too stressed to eat anything and my first fill seems to be really good - for a few days I thought I was too restricted and I was worried but now is all good! Just follow what the doctor says! Everything has been great (except this damn cold). I plan to get my second fill March 7th (fingers crossed) my doctor thinks it should be the only one I will need so here is hoping! *knock on wood* Though I plan to make many trips down to TJ - I love it there!

Another thing I want to add....I wish I could have done this when I was your age - it would have saved me years and years of feeling horrible about myself and being unhealthy. I myself have two children and if they ever had a weight probably I would in a heartbeat allow them to have this surgery at the OCC after experiencing how great it is. If your mom has questions feel free to have her come on and ask questions!

That is awesome!! I am so happy for you (I used to do the same thing with buying a bunch of the same thing!) Way to go - and dont worry - the weight will keep coming off!

Ill be there in March too...hopefully for my second fill. I am thinking March 5-10 - but not 100% yet. I feel fine in TJ - in fact have made so many friends there I will probably go back quite often.

Cuz I am 155!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I seriously never thought this was possible! WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Sorry - I am just seriously excited!

If I need my 2nd fill Ill get it then...if not to visit all my friends I have made there and have fun! They are pretty good at the boarder when you explain you are there for a doctors visit. I have only had a grouchy guy once - the rest were all pretty decent

Dont worry so much guys - i did before but have gone twice and its easier than you think. I am in Alberta and was just there last weekend and am going back in three weeks. I book through expedia.ca - just book so that your flight gets into San Diego at a decent time in the day and the OCC van will pick you up. Then have your flight home for later morning or early afternoon (makes it easier on us canadians). The lines arent that bad at the border because we get to bypass a lot of it

great thanks guys! Ill let you know what happens. I am either going to stay at one of those hotels or at a friends. I was angry that our friends couldnt even come to our room?!? well one day they did - but whenever the front desk saw anyone come up - that was it...annoying

I worried about stretching too. I also gained two pounds after my second week of solids. But since my first fill on saturday have lost 6 pounds

Have any of you stayed in other hotels in TJ besides the Lucerna? Id like to try somewhere different next time.
