CanadianBandster replied to Dolittle's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Ill be there the 14th too - actually the 12-17th...but ..,I am trying Hotel Real Del Rio http://www.realdelrio.com/index_english.html this time -
post op ab exercises, pilates, etc...

Dr.M also said they used to think it would make your port flip but now they know it doesnt (to do ab work before 3 months). But it still bothers me so I dont push the abs -

CanadianBandster replied to Babe's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
You have to go by what the doctor told you. Dr. Miranda told me nothing for 3 weeks post op...then anything is a go - and ab work once I feel up to it....well - I am two months post op and I cant do abs...even swimming sometimes my port area hurts the whole day after. I am going to ask again when I go there for my second fill next week -
Can everyone feel their port?
CanadianBandster replied to CJen's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
I can totally feel mine, and the more I lose the more I can feel it! -
Okay - so as you know I was NOT happy with the Lucerna last time I stayed there. I am trying out Hotel Real Del Rio http://www.realdelrio.com/index_english.html next week - so I will let you know how it is When I spoke to the manager he said my room with two beds would be $58

I was 177 surgery day...and at my first fill I was 161 first fill was on Jan 7th - I am 155. I lost all the weight the first week - then was on a plateau and even gained back 2 lbs. The last two days I have lost those two pounds and am back down to 155 - I am doing a kick start liquids this week though cuz I really really need a fill and it isnt until the 14th.
-
Im not worried - I go there often. I will be there again March 12-17th. My friend lives there and she said it is okay where we go. If she tells me otherwise I will post it on here - honestly, cross my heart I am not concerned.

I have the 4cc band and got 2cc at 6.5 weeks....I was told to come back in 4 weeks - but it will be 5 once I go back...I need it now thou damnit! and I have to wait 2 more weeks! ECK! This is gonna be hard hard hard! -
I would get it again - I know you asked who would NOT get it...but I had to comment. Yes - I would forsure do it. I too wish I would have done this 10 years ago!!!! I feel and look better than I did in HIGH SCHOOL! I actually enjoy working out, swimming and being physical now! I cant wait for my 2nd fill so I have more restriction again so I can start losing again!

Travel Alert, should I be worried?

See - Im bad - we even went out at night - Ive probably gone out about 7 times and havent had problems. We even went to revolution at night (SCARY though lol) but we were with some of our local friends. AND I wont go to Rev Ave at night again cuz I dont like seeing the prostitutes and all the police - it was scary for me. -
Hard to get used to

yah I dont like the really obvious looking up and down - and staring though...thats what my sister in law does all the time. As for the crazys in my life - I actually have retained a lawyer - took the rest of this post out just in case the crazy sees it! Anyways - sorry back to topic...its funny - cuz if I see someone who has lost weight - I either say nothing (depending how well I know them), or tell them how great they look - or ask how they did it (before) cuz I wanted to do the same thing! lol I cant get over how obvious some people make their starring! grr - but just try to laugh it off because you know that meansb you look HOT lol -
A bit discouraged
CanadianBandster replied to doinitagann's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
yup - like everyone said - you need a FILL asap. I too have to eat perfectly - chew, little bites, proper foods or it too comes right back up. I can tell I will need another fill soon though (phew Im booked for the 14th!) because I am getting hungrier quicker...for instance I am hungry about an hour to an hour and a half after I eat. I could eat more but dont - so like others have said I am using more will power than band power so its time for a fill - just like u! Also - I really dont think that you are "feeling" restriction just because when you eat fast or too big of bites it gets stuck....Isnt restriction when you feel fuller longer and it takes you less food to feel full. Its bad band practice to eat fast and big bites - dont get yourself into trouble (I personally have to be VERY VERY careful) -
Travel Alert, should I be worried?
CanadianBandster replied to Lulee's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Theyve had a travel warning on like that for a long time - seriously. Its the same as it has been for quite a few months. Just be aware of your surroundings like everyone says. I go there every 6-8 weeks and have been fine so far - and we even go out while we are there, go shopping, go bowling, go to the mall, etc etc -
who was banded today at OCC 26/Feeb/09
CanadianBandster replied to shady's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Congratulations guys! One of the girls I met on my surgery date is one of my good friends now - well could it be because we email tons and when I go back there visit her. Its so nice to have friends who have been through and are going through what you have! Again - Congratulations! -
Hard to get used to
CanadianBandster replied to trulytangledgrl's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
Im getting it too - a lot. Sometimes people are so nice...some are so ignorant. The "checking" out is funny - my sister in law does it the MOST lol Honestly - its funny. Im not sure how to handle it either. Sometimes it does make me uncomfortable though - but I just try to ignore it. If anyone askes I tell them what I did. Today though I saw an old high school friend - I told her what I had done and she said "oh - have you lost any weight" - um, everyone else in the world notices and the last time she saw me was at weight watchers weighing me in...Im 40 lbs lighter - um yah Ive lost weight - but I think its just cuz she wasnt sure what to say. At first I was going to not tell people...then I thought - why not, who cares...and maybe just maybe one other person would decide to get it done and if it helps even one other person - its all good The ONLY two people I dont want to know is my ex and his psychotic (sp?) new wife - for some reason she seems to stalk me - seriously - I cant get into details here but you have no idea...she has hacked my email - I had to change my username on every site I visit - including this one...and Im tired of them knowing my every detail of my life. So I havent told my kids exactly what I had done - and they are the only two people in the world Id say - I dont know what you are talking about if they asked lol -
Going for your second fill
CanadianBandster replied to Jnlebean's topic in Gastric Band Support & Discussion
The OCC (honestly I cant remember what the doctors name was oops)...anyways - he said 4 weeks Id probably need one... I just booked my appointment for the 14th - which will be 5 weeks. I am just now starting to feel that I can eat more than I want to be eating - Im using more will power! So - I figure its time...if I could go back at the 4 week point I would - but have to wait that extra week or I have to go alone....not gonna happen! -
so apparantely its no where near the OCC border - so there is nothing to worry about. I didnt think so cuz I was sure one of my friends would have said something - hope that makes u feel better!
