  1. When I eat Oatmeal and fruit in the morning (8ish) I usually get my lunch break at 12pm.. I feel like I can NOT eat anything until maybe 2, so I usually eat at my desk around that time and Oatmeal completely throws me off but keeps me really full in the morning. Now salads, (lettuce, spinach, mushrooms, carrots, balsamic vinegar, and some type of protein) hardly ever keep me full. Usually because it has very little protein.
  2. This is nothing like the "blunt" comments people were talking about Lindsay, you've actually toned it down a lot and still sound sincere about what you write so, thank you. Bernice, Lindsay asked all the right questions, are you dieting and exercising? You've been banded far longer than I have so I assume that after all this time you've figured out that when you DO exercise and eat healthy the pounds WILL come off. Hang in there and make smarter choices. Keep us updated.

  6. Oh that's interesting.. I'll do that. I just bought a huge box of ensure from costco so I'll probably do a few days of liquid protein. And having the rest for breakfast in the mornings. since that's when I have the most difficulty with sliming.
  7. I'm 1 year and few months into WLS... I had the lap band and lost 49 lbs. I've currently noticed that I've been really bad at portion control and pretty much stuffing my face to the limit of sliming. I really need to stop this behavior, I know. I really don't want to damage myself or my band so I'm going to give it a break and go back on the liquid diet for a week. I think that every once in a while it needs a break. I irritated my band once in the past and I would not want it to get back to that again. Does anyone else do this? Go back on protein shakes to give it a break?

  12. I know you asked ... "did anyone not quit" but when I was told to quit... I just stopped cold turkey. I was serious about getting healthy and I was not about to risk my life for a nasty cigarette. I've been smoke free for two years, and banded for 1 and two months. So do what you can girl... trust me you'll feel great after.
  13. thanks for sharing this. I am just a few pounds past my half way goal and I am so happy about that. What makes me so happy is to know that I am losing, slowly but it's going. btw... love the name..Cavrona. lol
  14. I stop eating when I'm done eating what's on my plate. So the decision making starts the moment you put the food on your plate. make sure the amount you put on your food is reasonable. There are also times where my bad gets ahead of me and I can't continue eating what I threw on my plate even if it a small amount. I can usually only do protein then veggies and very very little starch.

  16. Well It's hard to understand things like this. I've been banded for over 1 year and I've lost close to 50lbs... I can't say "It's not working" I had to do the work. I sometimes cheat and eat more than I actually should but then ofcourse I pay the price on the scale. You have to work out eat healthy on your own... I forget I have the band and make sure I can control my own portion sizes before my band tells me to stop. I do this just in case I happen to have it removed (I hope that never happens) but I want to educate myself... I hope everything works out for you and your daughter. As for plication, I don't know much about it.
