Hey Lindsey, thanks. I will give them a try. The hard part will be keeping my hubby out of them and believe you me, he does not need them. Baaahaaahaa! Something natural will be nice to have.

Bring on the pictures RevyD.....can't wait! I'm all for creeping Debbie out, following her around and making notes. Although I think we would have to stand in a long line for our turn. You are truly and inspiration to us all. Thank you!!

Just watched your video....YOU GO GIRL! You are our "Rock Star"! Thank you for putting yourself out there, for being honest and real. I'm sure that took a lot of guts. I know there are going to be a lot of people who can relate and who will be inspired by your story. You look wonderful...good job, girl! Thank you! Hugs & Kisses!

One thing to add...sports bra. One of the incisions is pretty high, so something soft and without a wire will be best. I was one the the ladies who got banded with Jill (macleay) and we all changed into our own pj's. I wore the same thing back to the hotel the next day that I wore to the clinic. No need to take much with you. They will let you go back to the hotel the same day, but we all opted to stay and we had a blast that night. Most of us hung out in each others rooms talking and walked the halls until our sweet nurse tucked us in that night. Oh, two other things I was glad I had...lip stuff and one's for tipping the caps and drivers. Looks like everyone has covered everything else.
Sooooo, excited for you!

Thanks for the support. I'm back on track and feeling more in control. After torturing myself on the elliptical, who wants to eat. I want that to count!!

I haven't moved. Which I am thankful for, especially after having two days that I could have licked the paint off the walls. Great job, everyone!

Hey guys, I am 5 weeks after surgery and need some tips. I have had about two days now that I could have licked the paint off the walls. Head Hungry has reared its ugly head. I have done pretty well dealing but I know this is going to be a ongoing issue and would love some input on how some of you deal with it. Thanks!
-
Congrats, You guys are going to be so impressed with the clinic. Have a great trip!
Prayers are with you!

Thanks Angie for sharing...you the best! And btw, it sounds like you are in the sweet spot for here and now even if it is not "the" sweet spot.
Yo, Angie, I think everyone would agree...You are our "sweet spot" on here!!!
You Rock Girly Girl !! Congrats!!

Thanks Kristi and see you did it! You are going to look AMAZING!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE turkey burgers. I make them at home ALL the time, they are one of my Fams favorits and very easy....This is how I do mine.....
I use about 2-3lbs of Jennie O ground Turkey
1 pack of dry onion mix and about a 1/4 of diced fresh onion
1-2 eggs
A1 or Wicheshiour Sause ( however you spell it ) I dont measure it, but I would say at least 3-4 tablespoons maybe more
Sprinkle with Sea Salt and Pepper on top of patties.
I use a Griddle at home to make them on and they come out REALLY good! I then put wheat buns on the grill for Hubby and the boys. Put a slice of cheese on it with Veggies and they LOVE them!
Thanks for the recipe. I bought some that are frozen and they are ok, but yours sound sooooo much better.

Oh, TRUST ME, you will know when you have restriction. I didn't have it until my second fill, really. After 3 fills and a slight unfill(all at OCC), I feel that I'm in my sweet spot. Now, when I eat too fast, or eat something that doesn't agree with my band, I get a definite pain in my chest. When that happens, I put the fork down immediately. It is so uncomfortable and takes about 10 minutes to dissipate. Walking it off helps a lot. I went through a period there where it seemed like nothing would go down without me having to slime and get rid of it. But now I am doing very well.
So until you get to your restriction, just try to eat a third of what you used to prior to being banded. This will help prepare you for when you do reach restriction. At that time, you will have to learn what agrees with your band and what doesn't. Everyone is different! Best of luck!
Thank you, that makes perfectly good sense. Ok, so at least now I know I have no restriction and really need to pay attention to want goes in my mouth. Just scheduled my first fill at OCC. Can't wait.
Thank you!!!

I am sick so I didn't weigh in today, but yesterday when I got on the scale it was the exact same weight as last week. I have been really bad about working out so i'll take that! Having adult beverages tonight so a weigh in tomorrow won't be accurate, but i'll just go off yesterdays.
Sorry your sick....bummer! Feel better soon!

I too, do coffee. This whole thing would have been much harder for me without it. I started using the "half caff" and have cut back quite a bit. I would not have made it through the liquid phase without it. Just watch the creamers, they can add up. I never realized how much creamer I was using until I started paying attention. I use the sugar-free FF, not sure if it's better than using the fat-free, need to check that.

I am soooooo excited! I lost 3.6lbs on my first week back on solids. Whoop, Whoop!
.2oz away from hitting the 30 mark. I am trilled.
Great job everyone...your all such losers! hehehehe

Usually, if your ready they are too. Just pick a date and go for it! They could have done mine in two weeks....yikes! I scheduled about a month out....needed time to get all my moneys together.
-
Not sure? I am on day 3 of solid foods and wondering how do you know if you have restriction.
I get full very fast. Is that restriction or just a shrunken stomach. (that sounds like one of those native things...."a shrunken stomach".) Sorry, got side tracked. I am really trying to pay attention to my body and stop when I feel like I'm getting full. I have not had any problem with things going down, thank goodness. Still continuing to lose. No biggie - just wondering! Loving my Band!

Ok, you guys are right. Tomato Pie will make you smack your granny. It looks and smells good too. The only thing I will do different next time is dice my onions up and saute them first. I'm some what of a texture freak and would like them to be softer. Other than that, it really is delicious! I'll be honest...when I heard of it, I was not so sure but I'll try anything once. Yum yum!! Sliced into 8 slices-one a day.

Baaaahaaaahaaa.....I love it. With my boys being 14 and 12 soon, sometimes I actually miss those days. No matter what it is, a truck can always be handy-Boys and their Toys!

Hi and Welcome to the gang! The 3 options from OCC are -
1) a month before: the beginning phase of Atkins
2) two weeks before: 2 protein shakes and a lean cuisine (300 cal.)
3) 1 week before: 3 protein shakes
There are a few other small things you can do with 2 & 3, but that's the jest of it.
Not sure if it really matters what you do to lose the weight, but this is the info OCC sends out. You will be on liquids for 21 day post-op, so shrinking your stomach is part of it....in my opinion.
Hope this helps!

Hey Jill, I just made one too! Getting ready to dig into it! It looks and smells wonderful!
I'll let you know, how I like it.

Trav, that is soooo stinking funny!! Baaaahaaahaa~ I never dreamed that made the guys wear them too!

Hey widdlee, where do you get ground flax seed? I know this is supposed to be a substatue for Omega 3 fish oils (I'm allergic to fish) so that sound like something I could do as well.
Thanks!
