Thanks for starting this vote. I have been trying to decide if I'm going back to OCC or to a doc. here in the states. Would love to see some info. on how many fills people are getting when they go back to OCC. I was told I would only need 2 or 3 for life at OCC.

I'm holding tight at 24 lbs. down. I keep going up and down with 1/2 a lbs. I am .4 away from hitting 25 and it's killing me. I'm at 248.4, the good news is I am under 250 and that hasn't happened in a long, long time. On day 14 of post-op and I'm loving my band.

Hey Jill, No chili's and I have been straining the cream of chicken soup, it has a few chicken bits.
This is heaven on earth...right now anyway!
-
I started my soups today (day 10-post op)with this recipe. I just want to say...I could kiss the lady who posted it. It is yummy in my tummy. I have not had any problems with the liquid phase, but it is nice to have something with a nice rich taste. Now if I can keep my hubby out of it.

Whoop, whoop....go Jill! The switching up calorie intake, is a great idea!
-
Thanks guys... I wonder if it is because fiber may swell. Just a though.
I did Benefiber one day, hope no harm done.
-
determination, you read my mind. I was doing a google search on daily protein and fiber intake. Results for my age, height, etc. was 73-protein and about 22-fiber. Came to the forum to check to see what everyone here was doing. Looking forward to seeing everyone's responses.

The Special K2O Protein Water Mix. They have 5g protein and 5g fiber. They are with all the fiber stuff, not the drink stuff.

I'm with Bogiesmom, I don't think your getting enough. I asked one of the girls on here that has lost alot and is also a nurse, just how much liquid. Her advice was...you can't overdo the liquids. If your hungry-drink, if your full take a break. I have not been doing alot of broth. Diluted Apple juice, Gatorade, Coffee, Protein Water, Popsicle's, Vitamin Water and added the drinkable yogurt today. I haven't been keeping track, but just counted up what I brought with me to work today...best I can tell it's about 150-200 oz. a day. I keep something going just about all day. I have been trying to keep an eye out for the protein and fiber. I think that has helped alot. I'm not hungry when I get those two things in. I hope this helps. Keep going girl, you can do this!

Hey Jill, what are doing for most of your liquids?

We are off and rolling for 2010. I was so surprised this morning when I got on the scales, down 9 lbs. since being banded - 6 days ago. I'm with Linnipo and her expletive. Girl you are at hoot.
Keep up the good work!
-
Thanks! Girl, you should write a book, I would buy it! Thank you for all the info. you share, it is one of the reasons I love this place. I have all that fiber stuff at home, but wasn't sure if I was supposed to be doing it in this phase. Watch out fiber, here I come!

I am on day 6 of post-op...the wonderful juice, Gatorade and broth stage. Did I mention juice and broth.
My question is...Do I need to be concerned about fiber. Was taken fiber before surgery, but wasn't sure about after surgery. Thanks for the input, Juicy

It was cool in the mornings and evenings(banded on the 7th). I am a cold natured person and wore long pants, long sleeves and a light weight jacket most of the time. Something to add: 1 dollar bills for tipping. We tipped 2 or 3 dollars for most things, was nice to have lots of ones. Oh, lip stuff - I had my lip balm out quite a bit.

Go Revy....Go Revy.....Go Revy! WoW-that is like, totally awesome, dude!
Repeat after me...."I'm melting, I'm melting"!
-
Girl, that's awesome....13 lbs. and on vacation. Your going to do great!
Can't wait to hear all about it and compair notes.

It has been great fun to hook up with Amy and PJ (her companion) and Christine. We've been through the whole experience together and I feel like I've made new friends.
The rooms at the clinic are nice--couch, chair, adjustable bed, and TV with directv. Also, and this is huge for me, there's a phone in the room with a US line!!!!! So you can call home easily.
The staff is all wonderful and professional. I have to echo all the positive reviews I've read on this clinic and Dr. Ortiz.
Hey my friend. I'm with you, it was great to be able to do this whole thing together. It's going to be nice to have someone out there going through the same phases as the same time.
Tell Rick, Thank you! After PJ and I told our husbands about hiring a taxi for the day and traveling all over Mexico, they were glad there was a man around. It was very nice of guys to let us hang out with you. We would not have ventured out like that on our own. Thanks again!

Yo gang - we are all out of surgery and everyong is doning great. We have had a few popsicles (manna from heaven), juice and water. We've all been making laps around the hall. Even went out of the patio to soak up 70 degree Sunshine. Everytone here is super nice and very professional. Dr. Ortiz is a hoot and cute! - liked him right away. The processure itself is about as easy as it could be. You feel alittle groggy, but that is the only things.
Thanks for everything guys.
Baaaaahhaaaahaaa....just looked at this post after getting back home today and cracked up. The spelling is toooo funny. The keyboards in Mexico are a little different from ours so that could be it or it could have just been the drugs. Either way...to funny!

Ok guys, after getting up this morning at 3:30 and headed to the airport, we are finialy here. There are 3 of us here who are getting banded tom. (jumping up and down)! We have checked in to the Marriott and everything is very nice. Getting over the border was no problem but alittle scary. We have already been to the mall to walk around and are back to have supper, visit and then hopefully get some sleep. It has been a long day. Hugs and Kisses to all! We will check in later.

I am packed and ready to go. (Can hardly stand myself) We fly out in the morning to head to OCC -
watch out, here we come!
I just want to say THANK YOU to all of you. I could not have made this decision without you. Everyone here has been very gracious and I want to let you know how much it is appreciated. It is nice to have a place to come and to be a part of a group who is honest with the good and the bad. A place that is truly interested in your over all well being and a place of encouragement. I consider myself blessed to have a great bunch of people I now consider my buddies.
Thank you.....Hugs & Kisses!

Since it is winter...any suggestions on any good tomato's to use. Has anyone tried using green tomato's.
Jill, thanks for asking about draining sliced tomato's, I was wondering the same thing.
