  1. I have taken only taken Celebrate supplements (multi, iron, and calcium chews) and ordered Puritan's Pride B complex liquid) I just had my labs done late as My Dr is popular 10 months after surgery and all my labs came back great except my D levels and so I am on a crazy dose of D. 5,000IU for 2 months then a recheck.
  2. I have not hear any feed back on this procedure. When are you going? Up date us when you get back I wanna know.
  3. I guess I didn't remember the CLEAR part I drank protein shakes. I know I did I brought the powder in a bag on the plane with me and my shaker bottle. I tried to look back over my paper work but I couldn't find it.
  4. weather you chose to change your diet or get VSG these are both life changing things. You have to chose what is right for you. PPI's that are taken after surgery are to help with reflux not heart burn. I did have issues prior so I still need to take a PPI but has to take them in the past. VSG sometimes even fixes reflux in some people and not in other. You won't know what you will end up in the end but as for staying overweight and not having acid reflux I would chose reflux because that does not cause heart disease, diabetes.......
  5. I had surgery in March and Live in WA state but I remember being so cold. I would sleep on the couch with blankets piled high. It doesn't get better I am still cold all the time here and there. I just chalk it up to all the lost padding/insulation. Also back to my old self. I have found taking my iron does help with this some.
  6. have you tried to omit things? I can't have dairy anymore. I can have a little cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt. NO MILK at all even a little will send me running.
  7. I had many stalls I was sleeved on 3/12/12 I am down 90 lbs. I don't do as well as I should with my protein now. I have found weighing yourself only once a month really helped me. Then you never have a stall. What I ALWAYS saw in a stall I still shrank. When I stalled that is when I had to buy new undies as mine started to fall off. my jean became bigger...etc. it gives your body time to adjust. Everyone loses weight at their own pace. Stay positive it will come off. I found when I was in a stall and I cheated a little with carbs or sweets I started to drop again almost overnight. 3/12 261 down 25 4/20 245 -16 5/23 231 -14 6/20 225 -6 7/21 218 -7 8/16 207 -11 9/28 199 -8 12/20 192 -7
  8. Zanthina where was your plication done? I have heard of this being an issue and is why I went with VSG.
  9. No they do not. I brought some and shared mine.. I have seen them at Walgreens

    Reflux?

I have found I have been having a similar issue but with me I have to thing about the last time I had anything to eat. For me is seems my tiny tummy produces way to much acid if I wait to long in between meals.
  11. I used my passport and they didn't say anything to me at all. I think because there is a lot of regular traffic at the Mexican border they do have special wait time lines for people who had a passport card. I did notice that as it just seems to be the borders preferred method.
  12. How long were you there? Because where I live I flew in Sunday evening, surgery Monday morning one night stay at the clinic, and I flew home Thursday afternoon. Does he use a drain? yes they use a drain. You have it in till the am you go home. Did you need a passort? Yes anytime you travel to Mexico and Canada a passport is required it is the law. I didn't want to risk it. Other might. check out the rules for your self. http://www.dhs.gov/crossing-us-borders Land/Sea Travel Beginning June 1, 2009 U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry are required to have documents that comply with the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI), most commonly a U.S. passport, a passport card, a trusted traveler card such as NEXUS, SENTRI or FAST, or an enhanced driver's license. See the complete list of WHTI-compliant documents. If self pay when was your final payment due? they require you to email a copy of the cashiers check and bring it with you to your surgery date. I also had to pay a deposit. To hold my surgery date.
  13. I didn't tip the driver as I had to wait a long time for him and we picked up everyone 5 people didn't get to the hotel till 11:30pm my flight got in at 5pm. I don't think this is the norm but with long boarder lines we had to wait for everyone as he couldn't go back and forth. Hotel is GREAT very nice, broth and Popsicle's are free I also think one bottle of water a day is too but check on that. It seems at times to differ from person to person. You can go to the restaurant or eat in your room. You have to meet in the lobby around 6:30 am they take you to the clinic you go one by one and get your iv started, EKG, meet with nutrisionist, pay, get your picture taken and get a card OCC card. I think that is what we did first, Then they take you to your room you are in a order I was 3rd to get my surgery you get in your room they hook you up to iv give you meds via iv and a breathing treatment. You put on paper undies and a gown. They then take you into surgery when it is your turn. You forget you were ever in there and wake up groggy and having to go pee. (that is what I remembered) I slept one and off all night I can remember walking up often to go pee but not really remembering I really went but I did. I was very thirsty they allow you to drink the next morning. I visited with my neighbor the next am before going back to the hotel, They give you your meds and instructions before you go back to the hotel. I slept that day after walking back from walmart. I had to go back to the clinic as they gave me a pain med I was allergic too but were calling me back as soon as I as in my room. So went back got different meds the cab dropped us off at walmart a few blocks from the hotel. Dr. So is great. I loved him the most of all the Dr there.
  14. If you contact the occ they will tell you what you need for followups. I was told in March that I needed blood work done post op to check levels.
  15. When I had my sleeve done there was a lady who got a port infection and her insurance paid for removal so if there is something wrong with yours they just might cover it. There will still be cost tho like your co pays and deductible.
  16. This is a hard one as all skin types heal differently. That is a hard one to judge and gauge off others pictures.
  17. deposit and then I got a cashiers check sent them a scanned copy and brought the check with me.
  18. What a great feeling to have. I love when things like this happen post op.
  19. I took some G2 powder packets and LOVED having them for my bottled water. Gas X strips or pill form I don't know if it really helped as I just was taking it. Tea I didn't like the hotels I stayed at the Marriott and it was like orange spice, other herbal flavors that I didn't care for. I just wanted plain tea.
  20. IT all depends on time of day. The OCC were SLOW the day we left and got our drains out. They wanted us there at 9 am we all waiting till after noon to get drains pulled and then we had to wait again for the van and got at the boarder around 2PM. OH and they told us that we didn't have to wait in line to just cut the line all of us. Customs were not happy about this at all. Also they wanted us to put one of us in a wheel chair to cut the line too.
  21. You will not use a commerical gate you will use the same gate as ALL people walking across into the US when we were dropped off with the line of like 200 people waiting.
  22. It always seems when I "cheat" a little with food and have some extra calories I have a surprising weight drop.
  23. Well it has been a interesting 5 months for me. Learning that I took to food more than I thought I did when I was sad, happy, mad, pissed off.... I would find myself crying in front of the refrigerator at times because I couldn't eat all its contents and sometimes because what I did to myself medicating with food. It took me a while to get there to be able to even say these things. It has been a very eye opening and all I can say is it is not "the easy way out" at all. As others have mouthed that have no idea about being overweight. I am proud to say I am down 69 lbs as this am and now weight 209. That is a number that is so hard for me to say out loud as it just doesn't fit me just yet. I have found myself not telling my husband when he asks my correct weight. A few weeks ago he asked me and I said something like 253 and he was so confused and said but I thought you weighted that last month and the other day you were 23? I had to laugh at my self and say I don't know why I said that I am 223. I did want to have more gone by this time but I think I am doing well when I count how many months I am out and I broke my ankle July 4th. So no exercising for me till at least the 6 week mark from my July 10th surgery.
  24. Oh yeah really and you are not suppose to lift anything heavier than 15lbs for 3 or 4 weeks. You can walk but I think they said no swimming till 6 or 8 weeks.
  25. at 3 weeks post op there is not much she can do working out wise they tell you to wait 4 weeks post op and also I was still soar and dog tired 3 weeks post op VSG
