i'd suggest you consult your surgeon and his post support staff. They might have some ideas. That's what they're there for.

The staff at the OCC usually orders carry out at lunch time. Just mention it to the front office staff that your friend needs to order something. I don't know how much it costs, but I'm sure its reasonable.

I always tell everyone the same thing. Having WLS is a life changing event. Everyone has a range of anxiety. So, don't fret about it, just make a decision and live with it. There's a lot of info here at the forum, jump in and start reading. Good luck and just take a deep breath and relax.

How long do you have to on liquids? How much weight have you lost? Do you feel hunger pain? Were you in any pain after surgery?
I'm in day 24 of the post-op diet. So it's pureed foods. Don't get hunger pains. I do have gas pains,, like certain foods will give me gas, then I will release that "gas" and feel better, or its telling me I better head for the potty. lol. I'm down 15lbs from the time I started my pre-op diet. Very slow going, but I knew this would be the case since I'm a lap band to sleeve patient. I feel pretty good.

A lot of patients are switching to the Gastric Sleeve because of these same reasons. I too have been looking into the sleeve and could be going that route in the near future.

Don't forget to take some before pictures. Also, take some as you lose weight. We'd all love to see the transformation of the new you.

Bust them when you get to the OCC. LOL. I think if you talk to Gloria when you get to the OCC, she'll take care of that problem.

Your doing great!
I'm hoping you post some pictures showing your success. It would be an inspiration to others.

You'll do fine, your in good hands. I'll be coming to the OCC on the 14th too, for a lap band check up. Maybe we'll run into each other.
Quit worrying about the pre-surgery diet, between me and you, I've never heard of anyone having their surgery cancelled because of them being a couple pounds short of goal before surgery. But, keep at the diet.

Good Job! Congrats.

Your making me jealous, I love my band but If it ever quits working I'll truely consider the sleeve, so keep us posted on your success.
Also, it would be nice to see some statistics on Sleeve versus Plication versus the Band? Which is better?
I reserve the right to bare arms!!! I finally got rid of my batwings!

I hate to tell you this, but 99.99% of the patients that need plastics to remove their excess skin will be denied by their insurance providers. Cosmetic surgery is considered an elective surgery. It really depends on your insurer and your doctor. If you and your doctor can build a case to show that the excess skin is causing you all kinds of health issues, you might get it done. Good luck.
