  1. I am 16 days out and I had horrific pain last night......
  2. :lb21: Congratulations! I know your family will have a wonderful time and enjoy Disneyland! Of course you weren't dressed, it's just like if we have money to spend we find nothing to buy, if we look great we see no one if we don't........
  3. Thanks for keeping those of us who are looking forward to our first fill updated!!!! :lb13:
  4. Congratulations on your bands!!!!!!!!! Hat off to you all!!!!!!!!
  5. =D> Congratulations and way to go!!!!! Don't be nervous at all; you will do great!
  6. Michelle, You do look GREAT! Take the compliment and enjoy it!!!! I live close to Orlando and I still looked/look big at Sea World next to Shamu.....Keep up the great work! Your really are an inspiration! =D>
  7. There is some fluid in the band when it is first placed around the stomach...as to exactly what your fill level would be I will leave that to more experienced minds.............
  8. I am sorry you are hungry....I was banded on April 7th and am still not hungry. I hope others can give you advice, I just wanted to lend my support. >
  9. I tipped the hotel staff as they helped me. I tipped Francisco when he dropped me back off at the airport.
  10. I flew home two days after surgery and went through security with no problems!
  11. Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best of Luck to you! =D>
  12. Just a thought....I didn't take my laptop because I didn't want to carry the extra weight back through the airport and all of that after surgery.....both the hotel and OCC have computers you can use....Best of Luck!
  13. First of all, Best of luck to you! The post op liquid diet is for 3 weeks and then you have three weeks to go before you can get your first fill, but you are eating solid food. I am in week two post op and have not been hungry at all...I miss chewing but not hungry. Have a great time in TJ and look forward to living life with the band!
  14. Michelle, When you get the powdered PB will you let me know if it actually made from peanuts. I am allergic to peanuts but love the taste of PB...just thought maybe I could use it.... Lynn
  15. First, hugs and prayers to you!!!!!! Please don't beat yourself up! You took a huge step and made a major life change. Keep taking care of yourself and wait until you are able to afford a fill...it may seem like a while, but if you are like me I have been fat since I was in the fifth or sixth grade so a few months really isn't that long if we look at it like that! >
  16. Look in the mirror and be proud of what I see Run around the yard with my nieces Wear a "little" black dress and look sexy Not worry about being too big in an airplane seat Not be told I have a pretty face Buy a kick a** dress, heels, and go out on the town with my girlfriends...and hey while I'm at it add the matching bra and thong from Victorias Secret!!!!
  17. You are great! I can't wait until that happens for all of us!
  18. I can honestly say that I received much better care at OCC than I have at any USA hospital! Most of our hospitals are understaffed and overloaded. I know we have some very advanced hospitals here I grew up near a level one trauma center; and I am thankful for it, but you are making an excellent decision. We are real people on this forum...I am a teacher in Florida. So, hold your head high and go for it!
  19. =D> Way to go! Keep up the good work!
  20. Okay, so I am two weeks( less a day) post op. I haven't lost that much weight....which I am learning not to worry about and let my body heal. Has anyone rewarded themselves for say staying on the post op diet or getting enough fluids for a week? I know it sounds silly but if I am getting a different mindset and not staying focused on the scale but healing, I was thinking I could do something nice for myself for other stuff....Let me know what you think!
  21. I am not craving anything...I actually am still not hungry...but this is a silly thing I heard one time and yes I have done it before Put some salt on your hand and lick/eat it....you save your self a lot of calories....of course you can always lick the salt off of a pringles as I heard someone had read in a post.....
  22. I am at two weeks post op and still having liquids....heres hoping that I don't get hungry this next week either!
  23. I have PCOS too as well as hypothryoid...so losing weight for me is a BIG struggle. I am an outgoing person so I have told some of my close friends....I don't act like I am ashamed so no one has said anything negative to me...yet! I haven't lost a lot of weight but already with 17 lbs gone I feel much better, my legs and hips don't ache as much as they used to. Having the band is just a tool we use to lose weight. We still have to choose to eat the correct things everyday. everymeal. Now for me I am still on liquids, but even here I am trying to get liquids that will help my body heal. Take care and hold your head high.....We tried everything...I even did 15 weeks of total liquids on one of those doctors fasts....got huge bruises and felt sick....and guess what the weight came back! I think the best response to the naysayers is when 5 years down the road we still have weight loss and are healthy!
  24. I arrived on Sunday for surgery on Monday. You just have everything done the same day. Mrs Ortiz will take you all to the clinic. Then Claudia will do your paperwork and call you back indivually to each pre-op person. They do seem to have a predetermined order of surgery...I don't know if anyone else knows what it is---maybe by who scheduled first?......you will then go to your room and wait for surgery. Remember that this is all on their time schedule....it is not like here in the states where they run you through like cattle. They take their time and talk to you. So, the wait may be long. I didn't get a room until after noon and surgery was about 4 or 4:30........I didn't mind; I was taken care of the whole time! Best of Luck to you!!!!
