  1. Try to stay strong. I am very lucky in this instance to live by myself. My parents spend the winter with me since I live in Florida, but they are extremely supportive.
  2. Kris, Thanks for the encouragement! You look wonderful! Lynn
  3. I am not sure I have wrapped my brain around the fact that I will not have to be on a diet for the rest of my life. This is my life and I can eat sensibly, use the band, and maybe just maybe not be the fat girl anymore. It will be wonderful not to hear...you have such a pretty face....why don't people just say it...your fat and I have no positive comment to give you so I will say your face is pretty...LOL...I have a family wedding at the end of August and I am so looking forward to not being the fat cousin......Thanks for starting the post Kimmie! and everyone thanks for letting me go on....
  4. Starlight1, Congratulations on begining your journey! The only advice I have is to go do it and don't worry. I second guessed myself and I should not have. I am one week post op and doing good. I chased after my 20 fourth graders today.....hard on a regular day much less after surgery and I did just fine. Keep us posted on how you do........I do agree with staying on the preop and post op diet. The band is a tool...use it wisely!
  5. I have size 18's that I will need to get rid of....and hopefully the 16W soon too...If anyone would want some of them let me know!
  6. I am one week post op and thought I was going to die or wish I would from the shoulder pain last night...and here I am trying to teach school today...the students are at music right now thank goodness!
  7. You can do this! Keep thinking positive thoughts.....also my brother in law chews the flavored toothpicks...they have given him something to do since he quit smoking...might help you never know!
  8. I was wondering about the glue too!! So thank you everyone for your answers...I think I will start putting neosporin on it now..I had not thought of doing that before mederma
  9. =D>Way to go! The time will fly right by!
  10. I know you have already talked to me but I don't want you to cry so......
  11. What he gave us was an NSAID.....it is about the equivalent of toradol from what I could find out
  12. =D> Kimmie...you look wonderful! Congratulations and keep up the good work! Soon you will be in XL instead of 1x!
  13. I am sorry you were still in pain. In Mexico, you don't have to have an Rx for what he gave us. If you ever need to know again, go to the blue and white pharmacy diagonally across from Lucerna and buy some more...I hope you are feeling better!
  14. I agree as well! Use the tool we have wisely!
  15. Dr Miranda told me nothing that would make me break a sweat for 3 weeks...I jog and wanted to start back asap....
  16. Way to go =D> You are doing awesome!
  17. Well, you two are way ahead of me and real food doesn't even sound good to me yet. Glad you both tolerated the soup okay! Keep in touch! Lynn
  18. Good Luck!!!!! You will have no problems! I was banded last Monday. I had 6 hour flight and 1 hour drive home...that was long enough...Just try to rest...
  19. Paula, Thanks for posting your question! It gave me the courage to post mine and find out that diarhea is normal too......
  20. Hello Susy! This is Lynn...I am doing good! I had a bowel problem the last couple of days, but today feel good with just a little bit of port site pain. I even went out and water my flowers, worked in my veggie/herb patch today. Keep in touch.

  22. Spouse Support...I notice you live in Lake County...I do too...Leesburg...if you would ever want to get together and talk send me a message!
  23. I just got my band Monday. My understanding is that the band is a tool to help us lose the weight. We choose to use it wisely or not. I hope this helps...
  24. Hi! I just went by myself this week. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! I felt completely safe and made friends with other bandsters who were there. I even walked down to the mall by myself...of course during the day and I am used to traveling alone. As far as having the surgery, I feel I got better care than I do when I go to the doctor/hospital here in the states. I would not hesitate to do it again in a second. If you have any questions just send me a message, I will be happy to answer them. Good Luck!
  25. Thanks Utahmom! I will look forward to starting the shakes and stopping the other
