  1. Barb, I also had my fill in Colorado withut Fluro. Where did you go? I went to Dr. Singh and he does them either way but $200 more with Fluro. He did a good job, did have to poke around a little for port but then gave me fluid and let me decide when I was full enough. I got 2.4 but wish I had asked for more. I will be going to him again and no doubt going without fluro because it was quite easy and painless.
  2. Jacque, That is awesome!! Doesn't it feel great when we make the right choices. Keep up the good work. The weight will start just falling off (without the drinking of course)
  3. Awesome Alana, You will be in onederland before you know it!!!
  4. I took out the skinny clothes and low and behold several of them fit me. I got back into my size 6 skirt, size 6 shorts and alot of shirts that I haven't worn in about 4 years. The best of all was the one pair of size 4 shorts that I could get zipped and buttoned. Not comfortable enough to wear yet but it sure was encouraging. I also measured myself and was down several inches and had lost at least 1/4 of an inch in every measurement area
  5. Alot of really good fiber supplements come in powder or capsules. Just opt for the powder and mix it with juice or something. Some good ones are Perfect 7 which comes in both forms and Colonix Intestinal Cleanser which is also Psyllium (sp) one of the better fibers. Benefiber is a so so supplement as are most of the others you will find in grocery stores or Walmart.
  6. I have uploaded several progress pictures to my album but don't know how to get them to show up here in a post.
  7. How many fills have you had and how much do you have in your band? I have had two fills and have 2.4 cc in my band but I am still having little if any restriction. Sometimes I have a small amount in the morning and the only other time I can tell if I have a band is if I eat too fast and don't chew. Portions don't seem to bother it at all and I have to stop myself because it certainly doesn't make me stop. Today for lunch I realized all of a sudden I was on my 3rd taco and I just stopped but the band didn't give me any sense that anything was wrong.
  8. You look wonderful! Keep up the good work.
  9. Cathy, Love the new Avatar. You are looking great!!
  10. I have been doing between 18,000 and 20,000 steps a day and loving my pedometer. My highest day was when I went hiking and I did 28,500. I do think about taking extra walks etc. just to keep up my ped. Tonight I am at 13,500 so I am still planning one more walk before bed.
  11. Awesome Michelle, You Look great and you are doing amazing. I also am singing the praises of the OCC team and my band. I have only had two fills and am not getting full restriction but it is still helping me to be motivated and it gives me some boost in my self control. I am looking forward to fill #3 when I know what all of you are talking about but right now the weight is coming off if very slow.
  12. Wow! You all are doing amazing. I am now 2 months and 8 days post op and down a total of 29.5 lbs counting pre op diet. I am happy with my progress and since I now have my second fill am hoping to start using this tool that I have.
  13. I have had it done both ways. 1st fill at OCC with Fluro and second without at Fill Center. There wasn't much difference for me. I could feel the liquid go down without the fluro and be the judge of how fast. The Dr. had no trouble finding my port without fluro and if they do stick the tubing the needles they use won't leave a hole. The ones they use at OCC won't either they told me. I forget what they call them but the have a special kind of needle that doesn't leave a hole.
  14. Awesome Job. Your hard work is definitely paying off and the band is doing its job. Excellent!!!
  15. Awesome. I am about a week ahead of you and since fill # 2 finally moving down again. Doesn't it feel awesome! You look great and are doing great.
  16. Yes, had fill last Monday. He was able to access my port on first try without Floro (my choice, there is fluro available) and gave me 2.4cc. It is a decent fill but I will definitely need another one when my 3 weeks is up. I have good restriction AM, decent at noon and almost nothing at night. Dr. Singh did well though and I will be going back to him and most likely skipping the Fluro again since he did it so easily.
  17. i have been doing high intensity interval exercise which seems to really be working and only take 10 or 15 minutes so I don't feel like I have to spend to much time and the gym. Also lots of walking 15000 steps a day at least and I know that is hard in the heat but I go in the morning and evening to make it easier. Of course I do live in CO where it cools off at night.
  18. I went to fill Center in Thornton, CO for my second fill last Monday and when he took the fluid out he could only get .9cc out even though at OCC they said they put in 1.8 cc. The Doc here said maybe the other half came out when they took the needle out or something but that is an awfully big decrepancy. Has anyone else had this issue. I am concerned that I may have a leak in the band somewhere and that is very frustrating to me so soon after surgery when I have paid so much for this. Can anyone comment on how common it is to have leaks or do you think they didn't really put the right amount in? The Dr. in Thornton put in 2.4cc and I have fairly good restriction AM decent at noon and a little at night.
  19. Awesome Alana, Hope we get to meet in person again sometime soon!!!
  20. I find that mine is really accurate when I am out for a walk and not so accurate when I am just wearing it around the house so I have compensated by doubling it and making sure that I walk 20,000 steps a day and then even if it registered some when it shouldn't I know that I am well over 10,000. I am finding myself looking for excuses to walk so I can get my steps in and that is awesome for me.
  21. Awsome Alana, I am glad you are doing so well. I had a NSV yesterday. I put on a pair of Capri's newly washed and couldn't make it through the day because they kept falling down and they were just hanging on me. I haven't lost much weight. I have gained since my first fill. My second fill is tommorow afternoon so I am hoping this is the one that makes the difference. It is good to hear from some of the bandsters that I was at OCC with. I saw Brenda and Jenn when I went for my first fill, that was a nice surprise. This time I will be going local so won't run into any buddies but I still think about you all.
  22. Awesome Michelle, Thanks for keeping up with this. Blessings!
