  1. hahaha. He told Kim and I "blend up pizza if you want, but don't come crying to me when you don't lose weight." LOL The Cambells soup at hand are meant to be drinkable, and they have a creamy potato... so there you go, potatoes and no blender, hahaha.
  2. I was craving potatoes yesterday, so I went to safeway and got their "baked potato with bacon soup." I added some cheese and put it through the blender and it was really good and satisified my craving!!! So no-no on the mushies, but you can get creative! haha!
  3. "Exactly 3 weeks"? Did you document it in your scrap book. hahaha j/k!!!
  4. I had my pre-ops on Tuesday and surgery Wednesday. I liked having them on 2 different days because I was one of the first to have surgery Wednesday morning so I was allowed to go back to the hotel that night.
  5. I was banded on June 4th. Went to Rev Ave the morning of June 5th and then flew home the afternoon of the 5th. I only made it through a few shops before I was out of cash, haha. It was fun!!! And it's great to get walking in after surgery, especially before a flight.
  6. YUM! Will you be my personal chef? LOL
  7. It's good to hear from you! Thanks for the comment about the Yorkies. Right now they are playing "hunt the kibbles." They cant just eat them like a normal dog, they have to attack, haha. I'm doing well and so is Kim! We're already thinking that we want to go back to OCC for the first fill. Just to make sure everything is as it should be.
  8. The most I've been able to get up to is 700. It's easier to get that high now that I can have drinkable yogurt. Tomorrow I can start protein shakes and then the next day creamy soups! Yay!!! From what I've read it seems like a lot of people like the broth because it's warm and soothing... but for me I'm LOVING the popsicles.
  9. That's good to hear! I'm a bit paranoid, haha. I'm getting better about not thinking I'll die if I sneeze, so that's less paranoia...
  10. Is the 1/2 cup guideline in place on the liquid diet? I thought that since they are liquids they would just flow right through... just don't want to stretch the pouch or anything.
  11. Hi Julie Burns!!! I see you finally made it home! Tomorrow we can have protein shakes so hopefully that will help with the hunger. So the 1/2 cup was on liquids too? I thought that was just when we move onto solids... I thought the liquids just passed right through.
  12. I flew from San Deigo to SeaTac the day after surgery. I took some liquid tylenol before boarding and then held the airplane pillow and blanket on my stomach during take off and landing. I also had some gas x strips while on the plane. I was a little uncomfortable, but excited to get home to my own bed. My husband picked me up from the airport and had a pillow so I could put it on my belly during any bumpy roads. Don't bring snacks. You can only have liquid and you'll pay a lot (I think mine was $3.65) for a juice after passing through security. Then I didn't even open my juice, I just had the flight attendent make a half water half apple juice drink when the drink cart was making the rounds.
  13. Just stick to the plan and see what happens. It makes the surgery easier if you lose the weight. I only lost about half of the weight and I didn't get cancelled. I think it also depends on your EKG and blood test results. They just need you as healthy as possible, so keep it up!
  14. Hi momonamission! It was nice to meet you. I've been having popsicles and it's helping. I also slowly had one of those fruitista freezes from taco bell with no topping. It's basically a shaved ice popscicle, right? haha My stomach growling wakes me up in the morning it's so loud. You can start protein shakes tomorrow, right? My surgery was Wednesday and I have it marked on the calendar that today was add liquid yogurt, Monday add protein shakes and Tuesday add creamy soups. I've also seen that other people have thin malt-o-meal during the creamy soups stage, I can't wait for that.
  15. Congrats! Keep walking and do the breathing exercises! ...and don't be afraid to burp (I was and it kept happening)... haha. Although, I'm still deathly afraid to sneeze, lol.
  16. Great job! Your surgery will be easier with the extra weight loss too.
  17. Send Dr. Miranda an e-mail asking how many calories you should be consuming. She can also help with alternatives to shakes to help with the hunger. The forum is great for support, but no one's advice is as good as Dr. Miranda.
  18. Thank you for the congratulations everyone! > I'm at home now, it was so nice sleeping in my own bed last night.
  19. Hey guys. I'm emailing from the nurses station. I just got out of surgery a couple hours ago and I feel fantastic. I'm so excited I finally have a band!!!! Everyone is SO nice and friendly. I'll write more later, but it was fabulous.
