  1. Thanks for the play-by-play! Glad you made it home safely. Get some rest.
  2. Don't forget to bring AF supplies! I think we did good and hope Dr. Miranda thinks so too.
  3. You're welcome!!! Uhhh, not so much on the weight loss. I lost 7 of the 14 (it was 10, but then I gained 4 #-o ). Maybe I'll lose some more when I'm starving all day tomorrow waiting for pre-op testing, LOL.
  4. It's detailed, but here's what I'm packing. Some people also suggest a pillow for the car/plane ride back. Let me know if I forgot anything, haha! See you soon! 5. I like to read your posts, keep them up! Then I'll know what to do after I have the band and have the same self-induced problems.
  6. Yeah, seriously! The time to submit the paperwork would be well worth the chance of at least a partial refund!
  7. So if we only take 6 " steps do we only have to walk a mile? LOL
  8. You're correct. But different people have different stride lengths so if they have a giant stride it'll take more miles to get in the 10,000 steps.
  9. Here's the thread about that. I'm going to give it a try too. http://www.lapbandforum.com/index.php?show...mp;hl=insurance
  10. :drinks: Couldn't resist. LOL.
  11. :lb21: YAY!!!! See you soon momonamission!
  12. I appreciate the responses and the informative info! I e-mailed Dr. Miranda and she already wrote back, she's speedy. She said "yes for bloodwork, no for surgery." So it's okay for pre-op testing, but I'll have to remember no water during the surgery fasting! Thanks again, everybody!!!
  13. Thank you sooooo much for posting these guidelines!!! It's fun to get the pantry stocked with approved stuff prior to surgery.
  14. Oh, that must be frustrating. :lb12: Have you thought about going to one of the Fill Center USA places? I looked up and saw they have 2 in New Jersey... it'd be a drive, but not a flight to Mexico. There's one of those centers about 2 hours from where I am and I think it'd be worth going, once I get the band, haha. They told me about a yearly plan and that if an adjustment is needed within a week or two it's at a reduced rate. Maybe something to look into? :lb4:
  15. On Tuesday I get my bloodwork done. The paperwork says to fast for 8 hours before getting to the clinic. Can we drink plain water during this time or absolutely nothing? And what about fasting for surgery from the night before, water or no water? Thanks for all your help! You're fabulous! :lb13:
  16. Good Luck!!! I'll be there Tuesday for pre-op. Maybe I'll see you!
  17. Thanks for the suggestions. I have lots and lots of water so I don't think that's it. But, I've always been a water drinker and a normal day is more like 10 glasses than the usual 8. I'm not eating much veggies, so I think that's a good idea. Get the pipes flushed out... haha, gross. I think another part of my problem is that I'm always on a diet, I just keep switching around which one I'm trying. So maybe the sudden reduction in calories isn't really a shock to my body so the pounds are just chillin'. At least no one is saying they didn't lose much and got sent home, haha. I'll definately keep everyone posted in case we're in the same boat. I'll stick to it, who knows, maybe Tuesday morning the pounds will be gone.
  18. Hi all, I've been following Dr. Miranda's pre-op diet and I'm not losing much. I'm SO worried they will cancel my surgery. :lb12: She has me on 2 shakes and a lean cuisine a day and asked me to lose 10 pounds. When I filled out the paperwork I was 275. Between paperwork and starting pre-op I gained 4 pounds, taking me to 279. #-o I told her about gaining the 4 pounds and she said that I had to lose that 4 pounds and the original 10. I'm sitting at about 272, following the diet and the scale isn't budging. I'm scared because to her this is only a three pound loss. My pre-op tests with her are on Tuesday!!! Ahh! I e-mailed her to tell her how worried I was, but haven't heard back yet. What do you think will happen???? Help! ( :lb6:
  19. Nope, just have them as pets. And 2 rabbits. It's like a small animal petting farm here, haha. By the way, I always love reading your messages. You're so funny! I've had multiple LOL moments reading your posts. I'm on pre-op and would kill for a donut hole. Help. hahaha!

  20. Hey! I just wanted to share that I made a checklist of all the things to do leading up to surgery. It had when to send the deposit by, when to pay the full balance of surgery, what date no more alcohol was allowed, what date to contact rene with travel itinerary, and what date no more aspirin was allowed. That made me feel better to make sure I was doing all the right things. I'm also not having any carbonated beverages and having tons of water to get used to life during post-op. Other people have commented not drinking with meals... but since I'm practically drinking THE meals, that's not one I can really practice right now. Best wishes and welcome! >
  21. I'm on pre-op too. And I have been getting a little bit of peanut butter and I feel so much better! Another thing that's been helping the last couple of days is the special k protein water. I have strawberry kiwi and iced tea. They are sweet, have 30 cals and 5 grams of protein. The liquids are passing right through... time for another trip to the bathroom! haha!
  22. Thanks for the comment! Don't you love Yorkies? :) Mine are named Tucker and Tate. I see you are in Snoqualmie. We're sort of close, I'm in Ellensburg. I always enjoy your posts, I look up to you, I currently weight what your starting weight was. I'm getting banded next Tuesday. Thanks for your inspiration! :-)

  23. Hmm, I hate that feeling.... how about: Drivers license & birth certificate (or passport), books, magazines, ipod???? Just trying to help.
  24. That's cool you were able to see a fill! I'm already looking forward a fill and I don't even have the band yet, haha. We're coming from Washington. We'll fly out of Seattle the morning of the 3rd and land in San Diego a little before noon.
