  1. You can do it for one month, two months or three months... depending on how much of a cleanse your body needs. I've never done any type of cleanse in my life... so I may give the three months a shot. We'll see how I feel at the end of one month. Kristy
  2. I'll keep you posted! I went to Wal-Mart the other night to buy the program that you are on because I was so scared of the morning drink and the evening tea. I had it in my cart and was finishing up my shopping. I ended up putting it back on the shelf because I had already spent the money on the cleanse that has been sitting in boxes on my kitchen counter. I just wish I had the courage to open the boxes up a month ago and give it a shot. I'm so glad that your cleanse is going well. Had I not bought my cleanse already... I would have tried yours. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to do this one for the suggested three months. Kristy
  3. Dude... yes, you are hilarious! It was so great meeting you and your daughter last month. What a great post! You are doing amazing! Kristy
  4. Thanks for sharing your experience Jude. I was looking forward to actually having Mexican food in Mexico this time around... it would have been the first! I will definitely check when I go in on Thursday and see what Dr. So or Dr. Acosta say. Kristy
  5. Great post Carrie! You are doing great! Keep up the great work! I can't wait to see your pictures! Kristy
  6. It's hard to explain. I can't really describe the bedtime tea because I'm not a tea drinker and have nothing to compare it to. I'm sitting here sipping my cup of tea as I write. But, it has a very mild taste... not really a flavor at all. The powder that you mix in the water in the mornings... well, it doesn't have a good flavor but it's not horrible either. It's a little "gritty" with a herb taste to it. But, to me the flavor and smell of one of the capsules is much stronger. The bedtime tea... I put it in only one cup of water. The morning drink... I put it in only six ounces of water. Both relatively small amounts and easy to get down. I have huge texture/taste issues and protein drinks for me are far worse than this cleanse. I just finished day two and I'm already happy with the results that I'm experiencing. It's a very gentle program. Hope this helps. Kristy
  7. Thanks Karen! That's what I've been doing. It's not nearly as awful as I had made it in my mind... I wish I would have started it a month ago! I do think I'm going to do it for the three months... I just hate that it's so expensive for both the Colon and Toxin programs together. But, I'm sure that it'll be worth it! Kristy
  8. Sarah, From my understanding... and, I could be wrong. But, you are on liquids after your first fill. However, you are allowed to eat after your second fill. There were three girls getting their second fill the day that we were at the OCC for our first and they were all going out for Mexican food that night. Also, another person was there for his second fill was eating solids that night in the hotel restaurant. I think you'll be fine with going home the same day. For the record... I can't wait for my second fill either! Kristy
  9. I'm so so so glad that everything is okay! Let us know how breakfast goes tomorrow! Kristy
  10. I filed my taxes. And, already got my refund. I claimed my surgery expenses. It didn't make a huge difference for me... but, it certainly didn't hurt either. Uhm Shelby... darn about the house thing, no extra fun perks when I bought my house a couple of years ago. Kristy
  11. Shelby, Just wanted to say that I LOVE your new picture. You are looking great! Kristy
  12. How great... and, how lucky you are to have it covered 100%. I would talk to you insurance company and see what their rules and regulations are in regards to coverage. For example, will they only support certain surgeons? Will the support a surgeon outside of the USofA? I am sure there are many good surgeons out there, but I would recomment Dr. Ortiz in Mexico 100%. Congratulations on your decision! Kristy
  13. Hey Karen, I started my cleanse this morning. I was just wondering... do you blend your drink in a blender? This morning I just mixed it by shaking it, but I read that it is more effetive if you use a blender. Not sure why. But, wanted to see what you were doing. Thanks, Kristy
  14. Bummer... I will miss you by a few days. I fly in on February 12 and out on February 13. Kristy
  15. Thanks Christy. I get my second fill next Thursday, February 12... hopefully it will take me to a new place in regards to restriction. I know that I can't rely on the band alone, but today my patience had been running thin. Keep up the good work! We can do this! Kristy
  16. I'm feeling super frustrated today. I know I have lost quite a bit of weight since starting my pre-op diet on November 1 and I'm not complaining about that. However, I feel like I'm dieting. I don't mind this because I'm making life changes, but it feels like everything is based on willpower and that the band is doing nothing for me. If I eat to fast or don't chew enough then things get stuck and I know that I have a band. But, if I slow down and chew... I'm fine, but I never feel full, never. I'm talking comfortable, not stuffed. For example, today I ate a bean burrito from Taco Bell for lunch. Normally, that would be more that 1/3 of what I used to eat, but I could easily eat a taco or something else to feel satisfied. When I get to my "sweet spot" will things be different? I have been out-of-town for several days for legislative sessions at the state capitol and one night we went out to dinner... I was bad --- and, gained a couple of pounds back. I had chips and salsa, I ate two chicken fajitas (with the works) and then I ate the rest of the meat off of the skillet plate. Okay, I was full but no issues of PB-ing or sliming. I just hate that everything is willpower and it seems nothing is bandpower. Sorry for venting, I'm just extremely frustrated today. Not to mention I started TOM about two weeks after surgery and it has not stopped yet! Kristy
  17. Sabrina, I'm exactly like you... exactly! It feels like each time I eat there is always something that gets stuck... no matter how much I chew. There are so many things on my no-no list at the moment. However, I'm fairly sure it has nothing to do with to much restriction... it just seems that things get lodged because there are other things that I eat and I'm completely fine with. I have been tracking the time of day that things are getting stuck... but, there is no pattern whatsoever. As for the blood... if you have not been throwing up a lot, I am sure that it was a pepper. Hugs, Kristy
  18. Amanda, I got 1.4cc-s in my first fill. Kristy
  19. Thanks everyone! I know that I don't need an unfill... so I'm hoping my second fill in a couple of weeks shows me what restriction feels like. Definitely using more willpower right now... and, that's not a bad thing! I just wish Dr. Ortiz would have told me no chocolate for six months --- it has been easy for me to give up the diet Pepsi! Kristy
  20. Yay! Great job! I'm so happy for you... and, proud! Kristy
  21. If you are following the doctor's orders... you will be fine. You don't have restriction right now, so everything will go through the band. From what I've heard... you will know if you have a slipped band, because you won't be able to even drink fluids. I'm sure others will offer information. But, like you... I worried. I was relieved to see my band at my first fill a couple of weeks ago and know that all was well. Kristy
  22. Wow... Mona, I will be curious to hear your February update. I hope your slight-restriction issue is resolved! I would have thought the exact thing Dolittle was explaining, as that makes logical sense, but to those of you not having the restriction after numerous fills... how frustrating. Kristy
  23. I fly in one February 12 for my second fill... and will be headed out early on February 13. Hope to see you around the Lucerna! Kristy
  24. You go girl! Great post... I'm so HAPPY for you! Kristy
