  1. I know where to go for great treatment in Tijuana :)

I'm new here. Went for my orientation to NewHope Bariatric Center in Mission, KS today. My daughter closed her store early, I was pre-registered, and off we went. Arrived there after an hour drive through rush-hour traffic and was met by three of the rudest people I have ever met (staff). People were literally "herded" into a conference room, their friends and families ordered to leave due to insufficient room. They didn't have my name on their pre-registration list (even though they'd sent me a confirmation by email). When one of the staff requested more chairs for the family and friends who had to wait outside, she was told by another staff member that they could "JUST STAND UP!". When I asked for another seminar date and told the snotty staff member that this wasn't being handled very efficiently or professionally, she informed me that Dr. Malley is a VERY busy surgeon, and that if I didn't have the patience to wait for an orientation that wasn't overcrowded, then I probably didn't have the patience to wait for my surgery!!! People were literally being treated like cattle, and I hadn't seen activity like this since I observed a cattle auction in Colorado.

So, the question is - how can I trust the doctor to be empathetic and competent when his staff treats his patients like farm animals???? Any suggestions as to where to go for DECENT treatment in Kansas City????

  2. I don't use myspace and it would be inconvenient for me to go there just to leave comments for each other.

sounds great!! I'll try anything once!!

and for the record, Dawnie has a pretty smile... it's a natural beam, not just a fake "I'm having a picture made" smile. I can tell she likes to smile and enjoy aspects of life. We all should be like that... enjoying life to its fullest. Anybody agree?

  4. There are posts on here about how much weight loss with the first fill. Do some digging.

I know several people who only lost 10 lbs. from the date of their first fill to the date of their second fill.

I had my first fill six weeks after surgery - had no restriction. Had my second fill, last Sunday. NOW I have restriction!

:D I still seem to be able to eat as much as I could before. I haven't tried to eat that much, but I not eating 1/2 of what I was. I have a 4 cc band and have 2 cc in there now. The only difference is the king of food I eat and how fast. How much weight should you loose the first month with your fill?
  5. I personally would have liked to have seen those shorts fall to the ground ROFLMAO

I've shifted to shorts mode now that school is out. I have several pair, and today, one of the funniest things happened...

While walking through our local Staples, I had my hands full (I didnt get a buggy to put things in, like a typical male) and as i walked, my shorts began to slide down... Yes, i had stop stop and pull my pants up... and I had to do it REPEATEDLY. Amazing what 30 disappearing pounds can do for one's attire. I went home and found a belt to keep some of my modesty intact.

  7. Normally I do not enjoy my visits to my dentist. Today I was scheduled for a routine cleaning and when I walked in to the office, one of the hygentists said "You're losing so much weight!" and the receptionist said "Where has the other part of you gone?" ..... I told them I had a secret and they wanted in on it. So I shared :)

So, the moral of this story is that people who see you every day might not notice your weight loss as much as those who only see you ever few months. And, that not all dental visits are bad :P

SO, today is a good day!

  8. Ahh I've had that kind of cabbage roll :) thought it was something different since we were talking fast food !!!

My mom makes the best cabbage rolls!!!!!

You don't know what cabbage rolls are? Oh honey, you're missing out!!!

It is ground pork, ground beef, rice and spices rolled into a cooked cabbage leaf and smothered in tomato sauce. It's a german delicacy. You really must try them...I am sure if you look on-line for a recipe you will find one. I am on mushy food as of Friday and figure the inside is pretty mushy and hopefully I will tolerate the rice.

    Yummy...can't wait!!

    Cathy ;)
