  1. I wondered about that...thanks for the advice...I guess I should start now looking for my receipts for everything else!
  2. Bouillon Cubes, Special K protein water...and lots of books/magazines...DVD player. I know that sounds crazy, but I was one of the last surgeries of the day and sitting there from 8am til 4:30 pm with no drinks/food can be a long time. AYou do eventually get in your room and have tv, but that wasn't until well after noon for me.....so being able to zone out to a good movie was great! Best of luck to you!
  3. I can feel my port, but can't see it.....I carry weight all over not just in the abdomen so that may be why....
  4. Renee....why not stay two nights and enjoy a day down there? That would be fine with me....maybe we can get a spa treatment of some kind on Saturday? I understand it is fairly cheap and a massage sounds wonderful to me...just let me know...I will be home tonight so you can give me a call! Lynn
  5. Anytime you need to whine, complain, or just generally let off steam....come here...I am glad that I found a wonderful group of people to support me through this and you have too..........
  6. Just wanted to say...best of luck!!!!!!!!!!
  7. I wish that food addiction could be overcome by giving it up! Keep your chin up!
  8. The special K protein water mixes helped me. I just bought water once I was through security. Also, if you want to pack apple juice boxes that are already 50/50, look for Motts for Tots...yellow box, big red apple character on it. It is already mixed so it makes it a little easier. Also, I purchased a powerade once I was through security and drank it on the flight home. Best of Luck, Hope this Helps! Lynn
  9. Sounds great! Thanks for the recipe.
  10. Mexican Zebras.........where are we going to pack that????.....give me a few margaritas and I will bring one right to the door! Can't wait to see ya!
  11. =D> Way to go on the willpower!! I am glad to hear that the Lean Cuisine went down okay...I can only imagine how good it tasted. I have about a week and a half more of liquids
  12. Your package actually includes three nights, so you don't have to worry about your husband the night you are at the center. He will be taken back to the hotel and will just stay in the same room. Hope this helps and best of luck!
  13. In one of the books on lap band that I read, they said it was referred pain as well. Sounds like a good theory to me....but I just wanted it to stop when it hurt so bad!
  14. Renee, I got on the scale this morning and actually it said I was up two pounds. I read a post by MamaMichelle some time ago about her not getting enough calories so the body goes into starvation mode. I started watching my calories more closely yesterday and am trying to get in more to see if that will help. I know I have not eaten enough to gain two pounds so it must be my body holding on to water or something. Hope this gives you some cheer that you are not the only one! Lynn
  15. I am just over a week and get kinda the same feeling if I drink too fast or i guess too much...it goes away quickly so I wasn't worried about it...maybe I should be?
  16. Welcome to bandland! I am glad (but not suprised) that you had a wonderful experience!
  17. I weigh every day...you all are right the scale is the devil and it does call my name!
  18. I live in Lake County....Good Luck on your first fill...and if you don't mind keep us posted. I am going back to TJ for my first fill but may stay here in FL for future fills.....
  19. I love to cheer on other people who are doing well. One week it might be them, and who knows the next it might be us! Also...ten pounds in a month is awesome...hold your head high!
  20. HA! My boobs were stuck too! I had to peel them off of my abdomen.
  21. :cheerleader: Casey, Glad to hear Vegas was awesome! and of course that you are doing well! What about going with us for a fill on 5/16? Would love to see you again. Lynn
  22. Although I am not a mom, I thought I would add my two cents. I have two nieces that I am very close to...We have diabetes, stroke, heart disease, HBP...and all kinds of other health risks in our family. I gave up going home to spend a week with my nieces to hopefully give them many years with me---I went to TJ and had the surgery. I don't know if that helps, but it is how I looked at it. Also, surgery does always have risks, but I recieved better care with Dr Ortiz and his staff than I have in most US hospitals.
  23. :cheerleader: Congratulations! Welcome!
  24. Hey guys! I am doing good. I am a little more sore today...that is probably due to the fact the I dumbly am wearing jeans today. My students have an all day outside adventure today...and it is40 degrees here in Florida...can you believe it ...the only day I have to be outside....I can't wait to get home and take these dumb jeans off of my belly!
