  2. Hi Kimmy, you are absolutely right the Ensure shakes I have been drinking for breakfast have 31g carbs and I should only be having 25g per meal, total 75g per day. You are so smart!!! I will look into getting an alternate shake or try eating some straight protein. I went to this great website at www.freedieting.com...and you can calculate anything at...even estimate when you will reach your goal. Thanks for all of your suggestions!!
  3. Thanks Barb, you are such a sweetie!! I must admit up to now, it's been easy. Feels like 60 lbs just dropped off...now the work starts to keep it going!!
  4. Great suggestions...I have a lunch date tommorrow..but starting on Wednesday, I am going to back on shakes for breakfast and lunch and lean cuisine for dinner and see if that helps. I can't bear to go back on clear liquids, but creamy soups for two weeks did me well during post op...maybe I will try that. As always, you all inspire me!! Thanks!
  5. Hi Barb, Sliming doesn't necessarily mean restriction..it means you are taking too big a bite and not chewing well enough. If you are not feeling full after eating 3/4 cup of food per meal, you need a fill. You are doing great so far, but if you need a little help, book a fill!!!
  6. Thanks tlag, I have tried that too..chinese food seems to do it for me...if I plateaued for a few days, I would eat some chicken balls and sure enough I would lose a few pounds..tried it two weeks in a row and no dice.
  7. I have been stuck at the same weight for almost a month now...I hit the 60 lb mark and nothing has happened since!! I have good restriction, I do not intake more than 1200 calories per day, I drink as much water as I can, and I have been exercising 30 minutes per day. What gives??? I have a protein shake for breakfast, protein and veggies for lunch, protein, veggies and rice or potato for dinner. I do have snacks when I need them, I have a bran bar, Special K bar or unsweetened pudding. I would love some suggestions as to how I can change it up and boost my weight loss again. I am ecstatic with my progress so far...but would love the momentum to continue!! Thanks everyone!! Nov 19/08 THE SCALE MOVED TODAY!!!!!
  8. That's fantastic Mona!! It's finally happening for you...I could not be more pleased!! I am a solid size 22 now too...so I know for a fact that you have lost quite a bit...I started at 26-28 too...and I am down 60. So the scale is going to give you a nice surprise on Dec 2/08 (my hubby's birthday). Cheers to you my dear!!!
  9. Hawaii for the weekend!!! Wow..business or pleasure..luck you!!!
  10. Oh dear, I am so sorry that you have had to go through all of that...I have no doubt that if there is damage to your port, that the fill doctor who poked at your like a pin cushion was at fault. I hope all goes well with your surgery and you get all fixed up!!!! Take care !!
  11. Congratulations on your surgery date!!!! You will do great!!!
  12. You have done absolutely fantastic!! Way to go!!! You certainly must feel like a totally different person..pics please!!
  13. I ordered the sample on-line, haven't tried it yet, but I will let you know when I do. It's all natural and taken in conjunction with Bromalite which is a mild colon cleanser, it is supposed to promote weight loss.
  14. All the best Donna..you will do great!!! Safe trip and let us know how everything goes!! Take care!
  15. As it's been said, restriction does fluctuate...comes and goes. Stress, time of the month, cold weather, there are many factors that play a part in restriction or not. It is frustrating...on days where I have little restriction, I think I need to book a fill...and it comes back. As long as it comes and goes..do you best to follow the plan and guidelines..when it goes more than it comes...get another fill.
  16. Hi Amanda, I think the most common pre-op is a slimfast shake for breakfast and lunch and a lean cuisine for dinner. I was on Optifast 900 plan, 4 shakes per day for two weeks, lost 12 lbs. The OCC can provide some suggestions to you as well. Good Luck!
  17. Hi Stormy, generally the first fill does not provide restriction for very long, if at all. My second one was the one...for awhile...you will need adjustment all along the way. I have had 3 fills so far and they usually last about a month and I go back for a tiny top up. If you don't have restriction, book another one!! Good Luck!
  18. Congratulations!!! You and your son have done amazing!!! You both look fantastic...love that dress...you and Cara have great taste!!
  19. Fantastic Amy!! Good for you, that's a huge accomplishment...keep it up girl and you'll be hitting your goal in no time!!!
  20. Hi Shelby, wine is fine as long as it's not carbonated, like champagne...and you count the calories into your daily 1200.
  21. Welcome and congrats on your decision!!! You can ask anything under General Discussions including pre-op questions. Good Luck!
  22. All carbonated beverages, pop, beer, wines etc..will stretch your pouch and defeat the purpose of being banded. After you met your goal, you can have a little in moderation. Caffiene is okay in coffee or tea, but can inhibit weight loss...so it might be best to give it up. I have been carbonation and caffiene free since my pre-op diet started on May 27th and I don't even miss it all!! Good Luck!
  23. Whoot hooo!!! How exciting...best of luck to you...see ya on the other side girl!!!! All the best!!!
  24. If they are all natural, I am sure they are fine...I have all natural digestive pills. They are not technically colon cleansers, but help in that capacity.
  25. That's go great, good for you...you are definitely on your way!! I want to see some pics soon!!
