  1. Shari, Wow, you have quite the experience going on. Thank you for the information and I must say you are extremely well composed both in your writing and handling what I know must be a disappointment. But I feel positive the the OCC will come through for you and am happy they are so diligent as to not just go ahead and perhaps cause you more problems. You are in great hands, keep the faith.
  2. Glad to hear things went well for you. Make sure you have some type of vitamin/protein water/liquid. The restaurant (sombero) down the street from the Marriot serve a delicious chicken soup that I had them just skim off the broth for me. They were extremely responsive to doing what I needed. Then my companion got to eat a delicious meal.
  3. You could be me talking. Group exercise is just not for me. So I bought the DVDs and am doing it at home.
  4. I don't beleive there is a standard NO NO. It is a very personal tolerance. Thus far (6 weeks) I have not found any nono's. A thin pork chop that was a little dry was close but that is the only issue I have found thus far. I think dry meat is the thing I will need to watch out for. As far as swimming, they will give you info on that after surgery but if I remember correctly it is 3 weeks.
  5. Surgery day WOO HOO you have to be soooo excited. Looking forward to hearing from you after surgery. Keep us informed on your progress :-)
  6. Remember you are swollen and gassy. Don't worry the pounds will start leaving. Right now just focus on staying on track and doing the right things, the lbs will take care of themselves if you do.
  7. DO NOT FEEL SELFISH and yes I am yelling that. For you to get better makes your whole family better. This will just improve each and every aspect of your lives. Stay strong and happy
  8. So I have been one of the extremely fortunate bandsters. I was banded on 8/3/10. I weighed 219 at surgery. My BMI was around 35. I have been losing steadily since surgery and now ~6 weeks post op am down to 194. So far I have found nothing that I do not tolerate but have restriction and eat very small meals. I follow the "rules" adamantly, lightly exercise (walk, Wii Fit and hike) every day. Have started lifted light weights during my exercise and will be starting Zumba this week. The hardest thing for me is no liquids with my meals and for 1 hour after. Anyway, that is my take on this. Hope it helps.
  9. awesome news. congrats and keep up the great effort
  10. So glad to hear it, I was worried about you but had nothing to give you as ideas. Is this forum not the greatest

  12. Shari, My heart and thoughts go out to you while you continue on this journey. Please know that I will support you in any way that I can during your incredible journey.
  13. Can't find the original posting about the fiber gummies but I found them at Costco today so I purchased. Not as good as Vitamin gummies but par to the Vitamin C gummies. I hated taking pills prior to banding and had started doing the gummy route then. So this works perfectly.
  14. Well after a 4 day stint of pushing my limits, I got back on track 2 days ago and low and behold lost another 2 lbs. Thank you for PBing, it brought me back to reality

  15. Just made the vanilla protein ice cream recipe from "The world according to eggface". What an awesome treat. Highly recommend it. "
  16. I just spoke with the NW Fill Center based in Marysville WA and they are planning on coming to Wenatchee to do fills in Eastern WA if there is enough interest. Their website is http://www.nwfills.com/ and are taking names and numbers of people in Eastern WA that would be interested in having a fill done by them over in Eastern WA. The prices are reasonable and just wanted to pass this info along to all who might be interested.
  17. You can do it, keep the faith and the dream.

I found that on the forum, it is when the scale does not hit the 200 mark. :-) no matter how minutely below it.

the forum helps greatly, it is so nice to have somewhere to turn to when you have questions or want to yell WOW. Non bandsters have a hard time understanding the WOWs sometimes.

  19. So sorry to hear you are having so many issues. I am less than a month as a bandster but I am eating 2 to 3 oz protien in the morning and some fruit. Then approx 4 hours later I have 2 to 3 oz protein, vegetables and then if I am still hungry more fruit. About 4 hours later I duplicate my lunch. I walk in the morning and evening, it seems to be working. Good luck

  20. Love the newest pic. You look awesome.
  21. Well, last nite and today I have had to fight mind hunger for the first time. It has almost been a month from banding so I figure that that is not so bad. But boy, do I want to scarf. Have walked my dog 3 times today instead :-)

Got over my mind hunger, thanks. I was banded on 8/3/10 and today I am celebrating arrival into onderland. I feel wonderful and am soooo pleased. Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.

  22. Cannot beleive how much more energy I have. I am having the time of my life.

  23. I can't answer all of your questions, but here is what I know. According to the 3 week eating plan that Dr. Miranda gives us, Popsicles are considered clear liquid. I started taking my gummy vitamins immediately and just sucked on them till they dissolved. My only advise on the wine is becareful as it will "hit" you harder.
  24. If you are staying at the Marriott, they have a phone surcharge even if you use a phone card. You may want to look at getting a international package for a month on your cell phone, if you have one. I shopped on Revolutionary avenue and felt completely safe. I had cash with me but my companion took her debit card and used it at ATMs to get cash. The stores seem to work/barter better with cash.
