  1. That is what we are here for, giving words of comfort and suggestions for each others journeys.
  2. with the fall weather descending upon us, I made the decision to buy a stand to convert my bike into a stationary bike to be able to ride all winter. Can't beleive this is me thinking forward about exercising in the inclement weather, it use to just be a great excuse not to have to do any exercise.

  3. Although I am by far not an expert at this as I have only been banded since 8/3/10 but have lost ~60 lbs since decision day and have not had a fill as of yet. I have waffled on getting a fill or not and have talked to Dr So about it. His words were that we need to start not wondering how much we can eat but how little we can eat to stay healthy, and be satisfied. It kind of has become my mantra prior to meals. I think that if you keep his words in mind and continue to do what you are doing exercise wise the weight will take care of itself. Just my thoughts
  4. Today I only walked my adult dog leaving the puppy at home. We added about 1/4 mile straight uphill to our walk and I actually WOGGED (walking jog) about 1/4 mile. Can't beleive I was able and inclined to do this. Just maybe I am learning new habits.

  5. so glad you called Dr So and got resolution.
  6. Thanks, it makes me feel like a carry a bit of home with me. (I'm a Canadian and will always be one at heart)
  7. A free shuttle is provided from the Marriot to the OCC. It is about a 10 minute ride, and you don't need to worry about your safety while in their care. My friend and I actually did quite a bit of walking around the area of the Marriot, we just made sure we were back before nite fall.
  8. I did not think about the mini fridge deal, good job in being proactive.
  9. If I were you I would just keep looking for a fill center that will do fills reasonably. I will also need to travel 3 hours (over a mountain pass) to get to a fill center that is reasonable but also does fills under fluoroscopy and that alone makes the drive worthwhile. I am hoping not to need to do the drive in winter
  10. So, I spent an hour going through and weeding out the clothes that are too big for me. But what became apparent is during this process I have lost my butt.

I have also seen a product called "booty pop". LOL

  11. I am sooooo sorry to hear about your nightmarish ordeal. I can't even begin to imagine the trauma you have endured. I can only say that perhaps you could consider calling Dr O at the OCC and getting a consult from him.
  12. Have you checked into whether or not a HSA account would be usable for the surgery. If so, I would suggest you do an auto deposit into a HSA account of even a small pretax amount. It is amazing how fast that might add up. $20. a paycheck would be a good start and as it is pre tax dollars you are "cheating" the government on their share. Also, when I opened my ING on line account they gave me a $50 bonus for opening, look on line for offers similar to that to double your starting $ Just random thoughts but keep on trying.
  13. I want to own the mirror at my doctors office. It was the first time I looked in a mirror and saw smaller.

  14. Okay so, I have now "down grown" (new word) my cool jeans. Wore them today and they almost fell off. But boy o boy can I see fine lines and wrinkles in my face,. Anyone got any suggestions, non surgical or do I need to bite the bullet.

  15. Just spoke to Dr So at the OCC and we determined that I still am not in need of my first fill. I think I was going to use it as an excuse to not make myself behave. Glad I talked to him.

ok I just sent you an email from your profile page. I'm dying how you decided to wait till now also.

I waited till now as i have been losing ~2 lbs a week or more since being banded. In the last week or so, I feel I could eat more but am learning to "eat just till satisfied not to full" (quote from Dr. So

Oh oh! I wonder if I should have waited. I am still loosing but desperately hungry all the time. I eat about a third of what I used to eat and I am not even close to satisfied. Just afraid to overeat cause I don't know how the band will punish me.

  16. I'm starting to "cheat" and not happy about it. Need to refocus

  17. Also my experience, I remember talking to the staff in the OR and then I was up and walking. No memory of talking to the dr after or actually not much memory of right before either. Thank you for companions.
  18. My half way goal was to go get a manicure. My final goal is a shopping trip to the Open air market at the College of the Desert in Palm Springs. It has awesome new clothes that are 1/2 the cost of in the store.
  19. If I remember correctly my BMI was about 35/36 and I was banded on 8/3/10 and have restriction without any fills thus far.
  20. Wow, marked the day on my calendar, I am wearing size 12 bottoms and a medium top. ya gotta love it

  21. I am wondering what each of you are doing with your clothing as you "shrink" out of it? If I can't come up with something better, i guess Goodwill would work, it is just a shame that there is no way I can't come up with something more "giving" to do with all of them. Just want ideas please
