  1. Many thanks. I know that this forum is sooo important to me and I am sure to others as well. Great job
  2. I received it as well. It sends you to a weight loss products web site. I agree it looks to be spam but is harmless according to my virus and spam control.
  3. Good morning, I can answer some of your questions from my experience but as far as I can tell each of us have fairly unique experiences. Nothing is "standard". I was banded on 8/3/10 and can say that of all the medication that the OCC gave to me, I did not have to take anything for the pain. I returned to the hotel the evening I had had surgery and walked about 2 miles upon my return. The next day I was strolling through Revolutionary avenue shopping for about 4 hours. A little discomfort but no pain. The only issue I had was bending forward to do things like tying my left shoe, I felt the port at that time. But that lasted only 3 - 4 days. Everyones weight loss journey again is unique. I have been losing steadily since surgery, about 1/2 to a 1 lb every day. They tell you that you can expect to get a fill 6 to 8 weeks after surgery. The fill center I will be going to says that when you stop losing 2 lbs a week, then it is time for a fill. Costs vary all over the board for fills, the best bet is to call around your area and find out what each one charges. Hope some of this helps
  4. awesome work to make it through the post op diet. congrats. Hope the steak will not be to heavy for a "first meal". Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
  5. You need to go back one level to the listing of all the topics in the Weight Loss Surgery Discussion tab, then under Diet and Nutrition the third over is recipes. That's where a ton of great ideas are kept
  6. I just bought the cheap Wal Mart brand and it worked good. Carolyn at the OCC said that it would be good R
  7. First day on solids. Had Shelly's Ham & Cheese Breakfast bites and LOVED THEM. Great way to start eating.

  8. Today is my first day on solid food. I tried Shell's Ham & Cheese Breakfast bites from the above link and LOVED THEM. Thank you so much for steering me to her website.
  9. Angie, Thank you for the response. I know that I am not the one asking questions but as someone that is going on to "real" food in 2 days, I am getting nervous. Roxanne
  10. Hi, I'm so excited for you. You will love your journey. I was banded on 8/3/10 and am down 35 lbs from decision day. It is truly awesome.

  11. I checked out one of the links I found for WLS recipes and found some adorable Bento boxes that will make eating "fun". I am splurging for them and thought it might make the preparation and portion control more fun. Just wanting to share the idea that I found.
  12. I will be going on solids in 6 days and have been wondering the same thing. Dr. Miranda told me if nothing else, yogurt and berries. But I have to say, I just looked at the tomato pie recipe and it does look yummy. Good luck
  13. The liquid bandage (yellow stuff) will come off as you heal. Don't rush it. Just lather with warm soap and water and let it do it's job.
  14. Great job, keep it up. It only gets better.

  15. AND be aware that IF your vehicle is stolen, the police will do NOTHING to help. I had a friend have their truck stolen out of the TJ hospital parking lot and when she went to the police they drove her by the compound where her truck was but said there was nothing they could do to help. Just saying.
  16. I ate Lean Cuisine, Weightwatchers - whatever I could find when I needed it. I also just bought the generic fiber pills at Wal mart and they worked just fine. Atkins shakes are less calories and less sugar. Hope that helps.
  17. I also believe that the OCC is the most amazing and caring facility that you could possible chose. I was banded on 8/3/10 and am down over 30 lbs since decision day. I have not had one problem and am feeling so up. You will love your new start
  18. Erin, So sorry to hear your discomfort. I had surgery the day before you and have had little if any issue with gas. BMs = one, so hard and small not even worth mentioning. Are you getting enough walking in????? I make sure I walk about 5 minutes after any input of liquid.
  19. Won Ton soup YEAH hadn't thought about that. Many thanks. Thanks to everyone with the ideas but unfortunately most of them are on the sweet side again. That's okay suggestions are greatly appreciated. Tomorrow I get to add the Liquid yoqurt. And then Thursday I get a thicker soup. I am calling all the restaurants in town to find out the best option.
  20. I also am wondering how long before the liquid bandage can be washed off, it is extremely annoying.

  21. Please do not apologize, that is one of the wonderful reasons we are all on the forum. 63 lbs in 3.5 months is more than pretty good, it is awesome. Okay so you slipped up a little on vacation, you can just get back "up on the horse" and go back to the bandster way of eating. I am a new bandster but as far as eating out, I ask for my doggy bag prior to my meal arriving and as soon as the meals arrives to the table I take the portion I am going to eat and then box up the rest. It helps me. Roxanne
  22. I have started having hiccups on Day 5 of Post op, what is up with that?
  23. I beleive that the 2 lbs is a false gain. Remember you are bloated and swollen. This will lead to false weight reports. I would give yourself at least a week before stepping on the scale. Same goes for measurements.
  24. I'm ending Day 5 for Post op and although to not have any desire to eat, I am craving something in the clear liquid category that is NOT sweet and NOT chicken broth. Can anyone suggest something?
  25. wow, you look great but I agree with the others, I am not sure I could withgo the pain.
