You're definetely not alone! I'm a month post op and have a little restrction. If I eat too fast or too much I can feel it. It's not "pain" really, it's just very uncomfortable. I can definetely overeat right now, but I pay for it. I'm not getting my first fill till 5-29 [had to wait cause of money] but I'm going to try very hard with my portions until then. I've taken phen. in the past and although it help me lose weight short term, I never liked how it made me feel. I was always jumpy, couldn't sleep well at night and my heart would flutter. I don't think it's cheating [there are people that think lapband is cheating] I think people should do what they feel works for them and is supervised by a Doc.

I was banded 3-25 and I have the same feeling. I feel a knot down and a little to the left of my incision, it's under the skin and not purtruding. I've noticed also that if I'm slouching, I can feel it, it hurts around the edge of my rib cage. I'm bad about that too, i'm trying to make myself sit up straighter. I was having some pain about 10 days ago and emailed Dr. O and he wrote back and said that it was normal [ I explained the lump.] I go to the OCC next month for a fill, I'm going to have it checked out then. I don't think it's anything to worry about, unless you're in alot of pain.

I know what you mean... I had hoped to get mine last summer and I couldn't come up with the money. I had to wait until we got our income tax back and I was laid off from work. It seemed to take forever in some ways.... then I was packing my bag! If you're getting banded at the OCC, you'll be in great hands, best wishes, Darlene

Thanks Jetdeck! You were brave to drive to NY by yourself, there's no way I'd do that! Did Dr. Ren do your fill with fluro? I'm still not sure who I'll use for my fills... there's a lapband Doc only about 12 miles from me, but refused to see me. :cray: The terd took my appendix? out in '06, he know's what my innerds look like! LOL!! I'm going to the OCC next month for my first fill...... after that????

I too am guilty of the "F" word! LOL!! :girl_haha: I've been lucky though, I burp more than I fart. I bend over and burp almost every time!! I also used Phasyme and it worked for me. Gas X did not. Hope you feel better!

Me too!!! I've been drinking while eating... I cut back on the amount, but still drank. Now that I read Michelle's explaination of how the stomach stretches... that's it, no more drinking while eating!!! I know it's hard Kimmie, but there are alot of us right there with you!! We have to take care of our bands so our bands can take care of us!!! Thanks girls!

I thought they were both in with you at the same time?? Dr. Martinez came in and talked to me before the surgery, explained everything, asked if I had any questions and chatted with me a good 15 min. As he was leaving, he said "Dr. Ortiz will be in shortly to talk to you too. Sure enough, Dr. Ortiz was there shortly after and chatted with me and as he was leaving he said, "see you inside" ... meaning the OR. So by that I assumed they both worked on patients together??? Both Doc's are awesome and make you feel very comfortable with the surgery [the nurses also!] :lb16: Darlene

I have to admitt, I cheated too! About 10 days after my surgery I chewed some brussel sprouts with cheese sauce and spit them out. I know that's not a good habit to pick up, so I never did it again. Then at about 2 wekks post op I ate some noodles and gravy.... SO GOOD!!... so stupid me takes a piece of cubed steak and chewed it up and swallowed it. Not a good thing, let me tell ya!! I was in pain for an hour! It made my chest, collar bone and shoulder area's hurt! I sipped a cup of hot tea and it helped a little. I now can eat food, to well, and not much bothers me. We had soft tacos for supper and I ate one nice sized one. I was full...... but about 90 min. later, I ate another one. Now I'm uncomfortable. Over eating and portion control are my demons.... Some days I do really well and others I suck.Can't wait to get my fill next month!! :lb12: Darlene

Hello Kathryn, So sorry to hear that you're in so much pain! I had very little pain since my banding [almost a month ago now] and all the people I've spoke to had little to no pain. Something doesn't sound right.... did Dr. Ortiz do your surgery? Regardless of who did it, I think you should give them a call. I had some shoulder pain and a little port pain since my banding, but nothing as bad as you're describing. I really think you should contact your Doc. Hey Redhead, My pain lasted at least 2 and half weeks. Somone else made a post about the pain actually being from your band area but you feel it in your shoulder. I said that it made sense because when I had appendisitis? My pain started around my belly button area [i thought I had intestinal flu] but then it moved to my lower right side. I went to the Doc and had to have it removed. Nothing really helped my shoulder pain, I found that if I ate or drank cold stuff, it seemed worse. I tried to stick to warm or hot and it wasn't so bad. I'm almost 1 month post op and no more pain, no matter what I eat or drink [thank God!!] :lb4: Good Luck Red, Hopefully it'll go away soon! Darlene

Hello All!! My Hubby surprised me today and said he'd like to come with me to get my first fill on the 29th!! I was so shocked! When I was banded he stayed home to take care of our daughter, so I went alone. Since he's comming, our daughter is too! She's very excited, she's never flown before. I made the plane reservations and emailed Claudia.... I can't wait!! :lb21:

Hi Jen, I had trouble with my port area also, I had alot of bruising and a lump under my skin. It would "grab" when I turned a certain way and really hurt. I emailed Dr. Ortiz and he emailed me back that that happens sometimes during the healing process. He also said to watch for redness and SWELLING, signs of infection.
