Hello, I've been on Phentermine in the past and it made my heart race and sometimes it felt like it was doing little flips in my chest. Thank goodness they discovered this problem and did postpone your surgery until it's safe!! Bless your heart and best wishes! The week will fly by! :-h Darlene

Hello Jacklyn, I'm 15 days post-op and today I made cream of broccoli soup and put about 2oz grilled chicken breast in it and pureed it.[ I also put a little shredded cheddar cheese in it.] It was totally liquid and went down real smooth, not to mention really tastey! I won't do it everyday, but I'm also sick of the Slim Fast shakes to get my protein. I strayed away from the liquid diet on Sunday, and boy did I pay for it!! I had stomach and shoulder pain all day Monday. So, no more cheating, but I'll puree a little chicken every couple days to change it up. Best wishes, Darlene

Hello, Dr. M was in surgery with Dr. O the day I had my surgery. He came in my room to discuss the surgery with me and was great!! I think I'm paying my come-upence for my cheating. I have felt tight all day and my shoulder pain has returned. I went to the store to get some more drinkable yogurt and soups and I couldn't wait to get home. All I've had today is about a quater cup of coffee, a drinkable yogurt and some sips of water. I'm now slowly drinking a cup of broth and it seems to be loosening things up a little. Thanks again for your support and advice..... God bless this forum!!

Hi Ladies and Thank you!! I'm still struggling but am trying very hard to keep my head on straight! I read the thread about food detox and although I understand, I'm having trouble wrapping my food soaked brain around it!! [Like I said, I suck!!] Right after my surgery, as I was waited in the airport between flights, people were walking around eating food. A lady sat right next to me eating Popeye's chicken and I thought I was gonna puke!! All the smells from the different resturants actually made me feel sick. I wish I could feel that way about food all the time, totally turned off by it. Unfortunately, that feeling has past and I miss my best friend. I wish I could come to the realization that I'm supposed to feed my body, not stuff my face. My fight, I know, is with head hunger.... I've not let myself feel actual hunger. I want this to work for me and I so appreciate eveyone on this forum for their support.... it means the world to me!! =D> :-h Darlene

Hello Mona, I was banded the day after you and I think I chatted with your Hubby at the Hotel. I see you're from Pa. also, I'm from the State College area.... {Ithink we spoke about this before} anyways, I want to go back to the OCC for my first fill, but having some problems getting up the money. I know what you mean about the flights, they're alot cheaper when purchased ahead of time. It may be 10 weeks or more before I get to go. I don't have much restriction and have been cheating!! ( [i suck!] I know I need a fill, could use one right now! What airline did you use? I used Delta for my first trip.

Hello all!! I was banded on 3-25 and I'm struggling with the post-op liquids. I've cheated 4 times already and I feel terrible. I've lost 15lbs. total since I started the pre-op diet. I just can't stay focused, I want FOOD!! I don't want to get back into my old habits of over eating, and I'm worried that I'll hurt myself [meaning the band.] How is everyone handling this?? I do feel alot stronger now and the gas pains are finally gone. How soon after surgery did you all get back into "life"? I need to get my house Spring cleaned... would it be too soon to start? That's something that I know would keep me busy and help get me moving. It was a really nice day here in Pa., so my daughter and I took a nice walk. I want to do that more often. Hello Wendy, I actually went by myself to Mexico, hubby stayed home with our daughter. I still haven't told anyone except our daughters and 1 friend. I guess it's whatever you're comfortable with?? I went shopping on Revolution Ave. with 2 other ladies the day after my surgery and it was nice. Best wishes!! :-h Darlene

I remember them wheeling me to the OR and me getting on the table. The nurse introduced himself, said he'd be taking care of me, put the meds in my IV and was out. I remember the nurse waking me and telling me I was all done and them asking me to slide over on my bed. Kind of patchy little memories till I was fully awake, but it didn't take long. PS I haven't been good on my diet...... I had some mashed potato's and gravy today and also a milk shake.... I know, I know, not good!! I don't think I'll do that again any time soon, my stomache hurts a little!

I had my surgey on 3-25, so I'm a newbie! I'd wish you good luck, but you won't need it! They take super good care of you.... you'll see! The people at the Lucerna Hotel are great too, they help you with any shopping info you need. They warned us about some of the taxi drivers that try to charge too much to go to revolution ave., only give them $5. Bargain with the store owners, never give them the price they ask. If you like jewelry, you'll love shopping there!! Anything else, let me know!! :-h Darlene
