  1. I wondered about this too as mine always felt almost directly under my incision. When I went for my first fill the other day he said since it was there it was more likely to have scar tissue build up over the port and make access challenging. I have a short torso but I don't know if this has anything to do with it. I don't know if they just settle somewhere maybe a little different than what they intended. I'm interested in reading other responses.
  2. Am I the only pathetic person who cries from the beginning of this show to the end? It just gets me right in the heart strings.
  3. I just got mine yesterday at the Occ! I'm psyched. Dr. So put in 1.3cc in my 4cc band. We are going through all this at the same time.
  4. He is a truly beautiful man! I wanted to lay eyes on him again yesterday when I was there but he had already left. He is also a fabulous doc!
  5. Up until yesterday I thought I had the larger band. My card says 10cm. Dr. So told me that is only 4cc and he gave me my first fill today of 1.3 cc. I am hoping and praying I get good restriction from it as it is extremely difficult for me to get the time away from my 4 kids and hectic schedule. I'm sure you will be hearing from me
  6. That's awesome! :lb24: :lb21: :lb10:
  7. that is a little freaky. but hey it means you are getting skinny!
  8. Take care and let us know how you made out when you can. >
  9. Thank you so much for posting. I'm glad you got taken care of quickly and are feeling better now. It's a lesson for us all.
  10. I was a big gum chewer too. As I was leaving the OCC after surgery the nurse grabbed a garbage can and held it up in front of me and said no gum! I guess you swallow air while chewing. I just carried my toothbrush and paste with me. I have since started back chewing gum because I am eating solids again and that often includes garlic and onions. I don't think it's giving me any problems.
  11. You are an inspiration! Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing!
  12. Jessica, I am 5'2.5". I guess I do carry most of my weight in the middle portion of my body. Not my belly since I had a tummy tuck after my 4th c-section though. Since I put on weight it has been around my back and sides, my butt and my thighs. I still love my tummy and wouldn't have changed it for the world, even knowing I would gain my weight back. That surgery, $7500, was worth every darn penny. I saved for 3 years and just when i had the consultation scheduled I found out I was SURPRISE!! pregnant with our 4th child. So I cancelled the surgery and gained 61 pounds. By one year after my darling son I had lost 56 of it and had the surgery. I couldn't maintain the weight loss though so I am where I am. Thank God I found Dr. Ortiz or I wouldn't have any hope right now.
  13. LMAO Sense of humor is critical in life IMO. Thanks for the chuckle.
  14. :lb9: You have come to the right place! This forum is my lifeline!
  15. Hi Kittycat, I read in one of your posts that the size band they give you is based on your stomach size at the time of the surgery. I have the 10 cc band. I only have 45-50 pounds to lose total so does that mean my stomach was really stretched out? Anyone else can add their thoughts too. I'd appreciate it. Thanks for your help
  16. Hang in there Paula. We all care for you and are here for you. I would be surprised if there was anyone with our weight issues that didn't struggle with depression. Keep working at it. You'll get there. >
  17. I had my decision weight. My highest weight was 214 but I had struggled and "dieted" for years to get to 175. I couldn't see myself keeping up the fight for the next 50 years.
  18. So far so good. I haven't told many of them but the ones that do know have been ok with it. Atleast to my face.
  19. You are beautiful. Thanks for sharing your pictures.
  20. I so sorry for your loss. My cousin did the same thing a couple of years ago on the fourth of July. Nobody saw it coming. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. :lb10: on the 30 pounds!
