  1. Take my kids to a water park. I haven't been in over 10 years.
  2. I admit I went a little hog wild my first meal. I had a stromboli with peppers and onions. Man oh man was it awesome!
  3. I have the best luck when I vary my calorie intake. One day 1400 calories, then 1000 for a day or two. It keeps my body guessing and I get to plan for a special meal or something.
  4. Great tip Evette! I hope I can remember it next time we have leftover chicken.
  5. How exciting for all of you! I know the best part about the band is once I get to goal weight I can stay there so I won't have to have so many sizes in my closet! Oh man I can't wait! :lb13:
  6. I read on here some time ago that someone had to give up steak because they just couldn't chew it enough not to get stuck. I remember because I absolutely love steak (we grow our own) and I hope that doesn't happen to me. I hope you do better really soon. Let us know what Dr. Miranda says. :lb11:
  7. I get like that too. It's like the thing I want to eat gets bigger and bigger until I can't take it anymore. One thing I discovered that really helps me is to have a mental list of projects I would like done. My house is large and I have 4 kids, a husband and we live on a small farm so there is always something to be done. When the food wants to take over my brain again I go clean or organize something that I normally wouldn't get to. When it's done the feeling has passed (or at least it's time to go to bed ) and I feel great about what I've accomplished instead of eating. Now this only works when I decide I really want to avoid something. Sometimes I am a little kid that wants what she wants when she wants it! In any event find something that works for you. There are lots of great suggestions on here. And realize it won't work every time. Just take it one at a time and NEVER give up. :lb11: :lb4:
  8. Jessica, I hope you are doing better. I had really bad heart burn every day before the surgery but I haven't needed any meds whatsoever since. Let us know.
  9. I'm so happy for you vix! We all knew it would be great but you had to find out for yourself. I love reading posts like yours because it reminds me of my experience and I love to relive it.
  10. Welcome Mrs. Smoother! I am glad to hear you are recovering nicely. I was amazed at how little pain I felt after my surgery. I am now 1 month post op and am anxiously waiting for my first fill at 9/17. good luck on this amazing journey and keep checking back. This is a great resource as well as fabulous people to share with and get advice from. Where did you get banded?
  11. Fitting into my size 6 jeans comfortably made me feel quite sexy last time I got to goal. I suspect it will be the same this time when I get back there.
  12. When I scheduled surgery my bmi was 32 and they told me I didn't have to do a pre-op diet. They did tell me I couldn't gain any wait so maybe somewhere around 33 you have to do it and under you don't.
  13. Welcome to bandland Vix! It was a rough journey to this point, huh? Well you're here now and I wish you a speedy recovery and keep us updated on how you are doing.
  14. That's great! Enjoy your date tonight. Remember not to reward yourself with food though. Like Kittycat said you need a new goal dress. =D>
  15. That's awesome! I am waiting for my first fill. I have this fantasy that I will only have to pay to fly back to TJ this one time. A girl can dream can't she?
  16. Oh gosh, that sounds horrible! I'm sorry you had to go through that. I hope all is well now.
  17. I have worked in a hospital for 19 years, my mother worked in a hospital 35 years, I have either been a patient or one of my family has been at least 50 times so my experience with them is vast. I have to say the OCC was the cleanest. Not a single complaint about the facility or the care I received. I felt totally safe the whole time as they took me back and forth from airport, clinic and hotel. I would do it again in a millisecond.
  18. I had verizon and it worked. That friend is no friend. Tell him to get with the program or he will be replaced. Easy for me to say right? Your son will be fine. It won't be easy for you but you have to focus on giving him two healthy parents to be around for a long time. Good luck
  19. Have a great vacation Julie. Awesome job on the 25 pounds!! :lb13:
  20. The biggest Loser, Grey's Anatomy and Forensic Files Love my DVR!!
