I "hear" people talking on here that say they were by the pool recovering and relaxing. Can you get in the pool or do they restrict you from submerging the incisions for a while? :-? Also, is there a spell check on here? 5 days to take off!

awesome! I have a large thick scar from my tummy tuck 4 years ago and I seriously thought about having a tat over it. I talked myself out of it due to the fact that I hadn't mastered the permanent weight loss thing. Once I have the band and maintain goal weight I will check into scar revision first. But I love yours! :beach:

Unfortunately it is only NYC not the whole state. For somebody who has been "dieting" for the past 25 years I was shocked by those numbers too.

I haven't had my surgery yet but I am trying to incorporate what it will be like. I have a lot of stress in my life which has always sent me for the food. For the past couple of weeks I have been walking it out. I just keep going until I think I have talked myself down. Sometimes I end up taking the kids with me which kind of defeats the purpose. But atleast I am not eating. When I get home I am too tired to eat. There isn't any one thing that will work for you. Just learn a bunch of new tricks to get you through one moment at a time. This forum is a great place for new ideas, things I didn't think of myself. Hang in there. What you are feeling is completely normal. :lb4: :lb25:

Shy, let us know what happens when your mother talks to them. I hopes she gives them hell and I wish I could be there to see it happen. I too can not find anyone locally to do a fill. USA fill centers are not near me either. The closest one is 5 hours one way. I guess I will be paying to fly to TJ. 11 days to band-land

Hi guys, how long do you have to stay after a fill? I don't want to spend the extra money for a hotel and could book a flight back home the same day. Is that possible?

I would love to fit in the cute little size six jeans and shorts that are in my closet from getting down to 130! after my third child. It wasn't to be though because a month later I found out about surprise number 4! I gained it all back and then some. He is almost 5 now. I would love to reach in my closet that is all right around the same size and know that anything in there I can where now, not wait until I lose 15 more pounds. Story of my life, waiting for something to fit again. With the lap band I can get there again and STAY there! 13 days left :lb21:

That seemed to go by really fast. It seems like about a week ago I was envying you having your surgery. I'll bet it didn't seem that fast to you! I'm happy for you!! How bad was the recovery phase for you? :lb11: :lb21:

Gosh that would be depressing! I'm sorry you had to experience that but maybe some good will come out of it by reiterating to yourself as well as all of us that the band is a tool. You have to be willing to work with it under it's rules. If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got. :lb11:

No, NYU is actually farther away. I live about an hour south of rochester. My problem is I don't qualify for the surgery in the US so any doc I talked to won't do a fill either. Totally ticks me off. What do they do when one of their patients get to the weight I am?? Do they give up on them? I really don't know what I am going to do about getting fills. I am stretching my family's finances as it is with the surgery and airfare out there the first time. I am much more stressed about getting fills than I am the surgery!

Is she listed with Fill Center USA? I would have to drive 5 hours to get to her but I haven't found any closer. I am in Western NY. How did you find her?

I checked into the cell phone thing just yesterday. I have Verizon and they told me I had to add the ability to make out of country calls to my phone, which was free. If I make a call however there is roaming charges and 99 cents per minute. I receive a lot of texts and they would be subject to roaming charges as well. I think I will just shut the phone off until I get back to San Diego. I also read somewhere that if the nearest cell phone tower was in Mexico that even though you were in the US you would get roaming charges. Glad I checked all that out first. Good luck tomorrow. thanks guys, I will definitely need your help. I am not telling anyone about the upcoming surgery besides my DH and two sisters. At work there is a lot of anti-WLS sentiment going around. I made this decision for me and I don't want what nimrods think to influence my choices. Thanks for everyone sharing on this forum.

I am scared to death of the liquid phase. I had a colonoscopy a few months ago and had to be on clear liquids for 24 hours. I thought I would never make it. I drank over 2000 calories that day and was still hungry. I need all the suggestions you guys can give me. Surgery isn't for another 3 weeks but I think if I just think it through I will find a way to survive it. Let me know what worked for you. Thanks in advance, you guys are great!
