  2. good luck. I'm sure things are fine. I had a flipped port and did not have pain with it, so hard to say. May just be pain from the muscle like they said. Keep us posted how u are doing.
  3. Oh my gosh, this is horrible. Very very sad. I feel very bad for the family.
  4. Glad to hear the scale is finally moving for you. I know how frustrating it can be. I have been stuck at the same weight for 3 weeks. I'm going for a fill on Wednesday and hope to have success like you!!!! WAY TO GO!!!
  5. I was at my sweet spot, then I ate some spicy food and vomited several times. Had my stomach so inflammed that I had to go for an unfill. found out at that time that I actually had 4 cc in my 4cc band. He took out .25cc and now I don't have much restriction at all except for in the mornings. I was at the sweet spot before all of this. I could eat about 4-5 bites and be done and full. I am going back next week to have the .25 put back in, so I can be back at the sweet spot. However, I agree with the rest, everybody's sweet spot is different. My friends are at 2.0- 2.75 and are good at that level, so you really cannot base it on the amount in the band. You will know when u are at your sweet spot. good luck
  6. Welcome to our forum. Congrats on your weight loss so far. Keep up the good work
  7. AWE that is soo sweet. Sounds like he will be awesome in supporting you and your decision. You worked very hard for this and will make it work. Good JOB. I wish you the best of luck in your venture.
  8. Congratulations on your first milestone Vangirl. There are so many more to come. It only gets better. Keep up the good work and positive attitude
  9. Congratulations Christy on setting your surgery date. how exciting! I have to agree with the rest, the band does not have metal and I have never had problems at the airport. You will do fine. Best of luck to you!
  10. Good luck and congrats on your weight loss
  11. Welcome to the forum Jeni. Everybody thinks going to Mexico for surgery is so scarry, It was the best experience of my life. My 2 friends and I all went together and we are all nurses and we thought it looked very clean and was very safe and the care was awesome! I have diabetes and in the last month or two, I have stopped my diabetic meds and am doing great. I wish you the best of luck in whatever decision you make. If you do decide to go ahead with the band, I don't think you will regret it. Its the best thing I have ever done for myself. I just wish I would have done it along time ago. Best of luck
  12. Congratulations on your awesome weight loss!! I agree with Lori, it is a love/hate relationship sometimes, especially when certain foods taste sooo good. But.......one look in the mirror and it reminds me why I am doing this. I recently had an unfill due to my stomach being swollen from vomiting. I found that spicy foods no longer agree with me. After vomiting alot after a few bites of chili, I spent over a week unable to eat or drink much at all. I went for an unfill and the doctor took out more than I had asked him to (we discussed before he took out the fluid how much to go out). He did what he wanted and took out more. I was very upset. As soon as I left the office I went to eat and could tell immediately that he took out too much. I called the office right back to tell them and he was a total JERK. He just said, give it a couple of weeks! My thought was for what?? for it to get looser!. Anyways, I called back today and am going to go see my regular doctor for another fill. These fills and unfills are starting to kill the pocket book, Oh well, at least my food bill should be going down.
  13. I could not believe vicky tonight, what a immature person she is. I liked the fact that Heba was even getting upset at her. I feel this is the worst season ever with Vicky being on there. I sooo wish she would have gotten voted off, but.......amy and her guilt. anyways I too cried tonight while watching it. It really does hit home. I soo hope Michelle walks away as the biggest loser!!
  14. Welcome Sue to bandster world I agree with lisa and jazzy, I too felt weak the first couple of weeks due to lack of food and calories. It will get better. congratulations on the wonderful decision you have made for yourself.
  15. WOW , what a relief. I am soo glad u did not have a leak and all worked out fine. The Mexican doctors are the best (nice looking too).
  16. You look great Kim. I feel your pain. I went for a consult when I had about 30 pounds left to go and they would not do it either. I was told the same thing, I had to be at a stable weight for 6 months. I was very upset and depressed by the news, so I really understand how you are feeling. Hang in there, we will eventually get it and will look even better!!
  17. I am glad you listened to your body as hard as it is sometimes. It's not worth taking a chance. Not that your body really gave you a choice when you couldn't even keep fluids down. Gald you are doing better, hang in there! I too had an unfill recently. Part of me did not want it, because I was enjoying losing the weight, however, I knew it was not healthy. I could sometimes eat 1-2 bites but that was it. I could not drink cold liquids and would occ. vomit up chicken broth or mashed potatoes. I went for the unfill and now all is fine, but now it is time to go back for a fill.
  18. WOW, tonights biggest loser.......................If only Amy would have voted out Vicki at the last elimanations, then Amy would still be there. I could not believe her decison last week, and this week she paid for it. I was sooo happy to see Renee and Michelle not fall below the yellow line. I also don't care much for Heba. I would not trust her at all! I never dreamed I would be so addicted to this show. Seems like it always makes me cry, I feel so bad for some of them, or like others have said, maybe i am just feeling their pain.
  19. I could not believe that Amy C. did not vote Vicki off. Vicki is such a nasty woman. I don't care much for Heba either. I think they need to tell Vicki to cool it or she is off the show. Her attitude made me not want to watch anymore, but I know I will watch it next week. LOL I would like to see Michelle and her mom win it.
  20. Congratulations on your new band and new life! Make sure you follow the rules. There was a lady that rode in the van with us to the airport that said she cheated and on day 3 (i think) she tried to eat a french fry and had problems ever since. It's tough to get thru the 21 day post op, but is worth everything! You'll do great.
  21. I agree with the rest, make sure it is a 10cc not a 10cm. I'm sure which ever band you have, it will be fine. The doctors would not have done a band if they felt it would cause problems.
  22. Congratulations on your new band and new life! I am glad you are feeling better. OCC is amazing, just love those guys there! Good luck.
  23. Stormy, Sorry to hear about the change with your job. I personally hate change, unless it is weightloss lol. You will do fine. You seem to have the personality that people love. Things will work out, you have to believe that. I'm sorry you will be further from your son. Good luck with the move in job, you will be in my thoughts!
