  1. WAY TO GO ON YOUR JOURNEY OF WEIGHT LOSS. KEEP IT UP...........GREAT JOB
  2. I finally hit the 80 pound mark,,,, yipeeeeeeeee. I never thought I could get this size again. Only 27 pounds left to go. I don't think I could have done it without the band. Life is good!
  3. It took me 3 fills to really feel restriction. Don't give up, you'll get there.
  4. I'm engaged so not really dating except for my fiance, but ............ It is so true. people really look at you different as you lose weight. It's pretty sad that people are so judgemental, but thats our world anymore. I would tend to agree with the rest, I probably would not mention the WLS until things go further. It's nobody's business, and you don't want them to have any reason to judge you. Good luck, and your wt loss is doing great, keep it up!!!
  5. When I went for my fill a week ago, I asked the doctor about taking ibuprofen 800mg tablets and she said it was fine. I have heard it is ok and I have heard it is not ok, so to tell the truth, I don't know forsure, but I have been taking them without any problems. I have never had it get stuck YET. I know, never say never!!! Good luck, glad u are feeling better Stormy.
  6. Before my last fill, if I was extremely thirsty after eating, I would suck on a popsicle. It really helped me. Now, There is no way I could drink afterwards or I will PB and it hurts. Soooo.......try the popsicle thing and see if it works for you.
  7. I would still continue on the preop diet. I think he will probably still do your surgery. One of my friends did not lose the required wt and they still did hers. If in doubt call and talk to them.
  8. congratulations!! That is awesome. Keep us all posted.
  9. OMG, that article just ticked me off. It is soo rude and wrong the way people judge people. Most of the dumb butts did not even know what they were talking about...................As a mother, if my child was that over weight, I would do it or them also!!!!! Cudo's to his mom, Jazzy's daughter in law!
  10. I agree with everyone else. I could eat bread or anything. I was able to do this until after my second fill. Don't give up, your doing great. One day at a time.
  11. I think we should contact the show and they should have a banster season. That would be soo cool
  12. I'm with Jann All I can say is YUCK, YUCK, YUCK. Oysters have to be bad for the liver or something. Things like that just were not meant to be eaten by humans, i am sure of it...................I think I would be a starving kid if I had to eat that stuff growing up. AND>>>>>>>>> Jazz, what about livers.............eweeeeeeee. LOL I'll stick to my yogurt and granola. By the way, I have been craving pancakes soooo bad. I been begging my fiancee to take me to I HOP. I think he is afraid to. I usually have a problem with sliming and I think he gets embarassed by it. DANG IT Glad u are doing better. At least you have a thoughtful hubby!
  13. First of all Teyann, I would like to say, good job. You are thinking ahead. The price of the band is more than just the surgery. However, You need to think about YOU. If you are not around due to health problems caused from weight, then who is going to take care of your small children and husband. I too have tried many diets. I did phenteramine several times and would lose the weight, but as soon as I got off of it, I started gaining the weight back and everytime it seemed to be higher and higher. The band is not an easy way out. you still have to work at it. It does help with food amounts that you can eat, but still requires exercise and change in lifestyle. I am one of the people that had a problem with my band. When I went for my first fill, They found my port to be flipped. I found out that it only happens 1 in 500 people, and of course it was ME. I am a single parent of 3 kids and it was a financial burden to do the band, but I also have diabetes and knew I needed to do this for my kids. I did end of flying back to OCC and they did surgery again........FREE. I did not pay a penny for the surgery, just my flight and hotel. They are wonderful there and if I had to do it all over again, make the decision again. I would do it in a heart beat. My only regret is that I did not do this years ago so I could live a healthier and happier life. Even though I am still overweight (173), I feel like people are already treating me alittle different and I can only imagine how it will be when I get down to the 130's like Lisa (whom I really look up to, she is amazing). What ever you decide I wish you the best of luck.
  14. I just love love love................SURVIVOR AND "THE BIGGEST LOSER". I look so forward to Tuesday and thursday nights just so I can watch these
  15. 4myfuture, I was just like you. I could and did drink about 8 or more diet cokes everyday. I woke up at 4 am and the first thing I would grab was a diet coke. I drank it all the way thru pre-op. I even drank it the night before surgery. After surgery they gave me some caffine pills to help since I was going thru withdraw and had a headache. It was a horrible habbit to break but I did it and you can to. I am now 6 months post op and tried a sip of diet coke and believe it or not, It did not taste as good as I remembered. Sometimes I want one just to have something different, but I dont do it. I stick to water and the wonderful "snapple low cal drinks" they only have 20 calories and it helps with metabolism. Best of luck with your surgery.
  16. WOW you both look totally awesome. WTG to both of you. I have to agree with the others, he is a hottie.

  19. Thanks jazzy I'm not sure what to do at this point. I want this surgery so bad I can taste it, but..........maybe I should wait a few more months and see what happens, I don't know. Thank you all for your help and concerns

  23. Thank you all for your responses. I would love to have Dr. Nyte do the surgery, I have talked to him about it, the only thing holding me back is that I was told I would have to stay there for 10 days and that could be costly. Lisa, Your comment about how your tummy tuck went makes me feel sooo much better, thank you! I still want to have it done before my wedding, which is a day after my 1 year bandaniversary.
  24. Congratulations Kitty!! you are doing awesome. Keep up the great work!
