  1. Hi LoriBecky,

I have had to find ways to get in my protein and it had to be soy with about two years of experimentation. The EAS carb RTD shake is a life saver on many busy mornings but I also found an excellant soy protein powder which I use in my own drinks..Netrition (online site) is great for all of this including the PB2 powder. Another life savor for protein is ProStat- a shot of that in the morning really helps me to get all that protein in...of course I have at times added beano because go figure soy is a bean.. :)

  2. Thanks for the comments...I am so glad that I didn't go with the band in the US, although I most likely will finally go meet the Dr recommended close to home just in case. I have been doing better with this last fill...I tend not to fill too quick. I find each fill brought new lessons and it takes me awhile. The final hold out at this point is exercise! Just got to wrap my head around it and DO it....

  3. WooHoo,

It is paying off..getting back to basics, thanks to the book "The Bandwagon" and a slight fill, which has resulted in a 6 pound loss. Finally moving again. Now three weeks in, I am going to make a concerted effort to get some kind of exercise in..I think I am going to settle on the "Firm" I have a few of their strength training video's and I need to firm up before I go for my TL surgery in December, plus they are 30 minutes long. I am not good for long workouts. Of course this does not include the walking I have been doing. Three weeks without refined our added sugar or flour has also made a huge difference as I mentioned before. I am very hopeful..now just got to keep the mind in sync with the body..

Keep up the food in ounces!

  4. I know this is hard to believe but it get's better. I haven't had junk food in over two years. I can't even believe I just wrote that. McD's chicken nuggest used to be a fav...I too am alone and have learned to "be" alone. My latest lesson is that the kitchen is not my enemy and I can take the time to cook and eat things that are good for me..this has been fun. I have been finding and making one or two new reciepes a week..you will work it out..

  5. Hi,

I was there exactly a week ago and felt very safe..I too had concerns and when I emailed the OCC about them they send me some very interesting information. I can tell you that I felt safe there and was very well taken care of. The Dr's. and staff at the OCC are very concerned and caring. I did not see anything that gave me cause for concern. I enjoyed the hotel Lucerna and the staff there were wonderful too.

  6. Thanks for the thoughts...I know what you mean..here I am alone and feeling the pain..but I am actually getting stuff done rather then eating..don't feel like it anyway..if only the growling stomach would stop..so the third week huh...gotta start thinking of a planned week for that one.

  7. Thanks so much for keeping us updated..in 5 days I will be banded..and I am like - no food - only liquid -- mini panic..but my daughter did it and your doing it -- and I so badly want to reach the zone your in -- you know the I CAN do this thing..so keep us going -- and "GASSaas" writer you too hahaha..I really hope I don't go there..My daughter had gas for about a week she said..I wonder if we can take Gas X? keep writing to ok..

  8. When you do blog you do a fine good job of it..thank you...I will be reading it in the weeks to come as I prepare for surgery next week and the 21 days of no solid food after. Great planning on my part the weekend before Easter Sunday...sorry mom no Easter buffet for me..just got to figure out an excuse..I am not telling her about surgery--shes part of the problem...the whole diet/fat comments/your not good enough/ growing up thing...she would be a major saboteur!

  9. Well,

I will be reading your blogs too because next week is band surgery..and I am terrified of 21 days of liguid......can I just be put to sleep for 21 days then wake me up when I can eat again?? Hahaha. Well I will be reading your posts to keep me strong and motivated..so don't hold back.

  10. Hi Storm,

Your post really hit home with me...your story sounded like mine every time I tried to eat proper or diet..My husband acted the same way yours is..until our daughter started gaining weight...then, somehow that was my fault too...I loved my husband (childhood sweetheart) but he passed away a year and a half ago..and I gained freedom to do what I will. Something that was taken from me without even knowing it my Free Will!..wow, what an eye opener that has been, gaining back my free will...so now I eat what I want, do what I want, talke to my kids and try to teach them NEVER to give up your free will to another no matter how much you love them...Stay strong...he won't starve..talk to your kids and let them know how important this is to YOU!! Show them all that you are a wife & mother but that you are also an individual who deserves that respect and free will...Don't give up...I will think of you and send you strength...
